Honestly I don't know that Morgan is all that much of a deep threat. He doesn't get much separation. They might want to send Tyjon deep. Also part of the problem is they are running two man routes on one side and a 1 man route on the other.. meaning you are getting a double team on the 1 man side because the safety is coming over to help. Maybe... I thinks that's just how he likes to play them. There are techniques they can use that will allow them to play closer and not get burned deep. Problem is they play 10 yards off and then they open their hips too late after their cushion is busted and they get beat deep anyway. There is a saying out there for Db coaches, "If he's even, he's leavin'".. basically if you let him even with you, you are beat already... unless you have top end make up speed

Let's say he can play by next week and Kalu is healthy... do you play both of them at corner?? I think our corners have been the weak link on the defense. Reed is a better safety than Kalu (maybe not better athlete).

Meh... Lee has shown signs of improvement. He put a pretty good hit on a kid last week. Jackson doesn't cover or tackle

Here's an idea. Demote Riley to some sort of recruiting job. He seems to do pretty well recrtuing. He'll still be part of the program and that will keep the moms happy

I don't think Kalu is our #1 safety.. I know he started the season there but he's not that good of a safety. Athletic, Yes. Best safety, no.

I don't think it's low if I'm putting money on them.. Maybe now they will cover

How well does the next guy know the playbook?

I'm not happy with our routes. Although I was happy to see a couple rub routes but we got called for PI on one of them. There have been more than oone occasion when we have two rec running routes and they end up very close to each other. That only helps the defense. I don't know if it's the play or the rec not knowing where he is supposed to be

I'm sure people are familiar with the term practice all-american. I think that is what Lee is. I had high hopes for him but for whatever reason it isn't translating to games. Maybe POB doesn't practice well but is a gamer. Some people just play better once the lights are on and fans are in the stands.

Ok the QB should be one of the most competitive people on your team. Coaches should not be worried about his confidence. I started on a pretty good defense in college. My DB coach came to me one day after practice and told me I was the weak link on defense and if I didn't have a good week of practice and improve my play he was going to sit me. I was a two year starter and coming off a mcl sprain. Was my confidence shaken maybe a little until the next day when practice started. That was pretty harsh but I don't see how pulling a guy for playing super s#!tty for a series or two is gonna shake his confidence. If he has any competitive fire he would be fine. Maybe they should tell him his job is on the line if he doesn't come out on Friday and ball out

And I was excited this week when they said Jaimes was getting the start. He had some mistakes but i think he played better than the two guys ahead of him before today.

He's a strength coach/get back coach. He is pretty much a cheerleader on game day

I wonder what it's like to have to go into work everyday knowing you are going to lose your job in a few months pretty much no matter what you do short of winning a CC or NC. I also think if Riley has anybody on the fence wether to play or not he better start burning red shirts like books at a Nazi party

I learned I shouldn't have given up quarterbacking in favor of defense I probs could have played at Neb. Also Jaimes for being a true freshmen in his first snaps should probably start the rest of the year. Time to see what POB has to offer. If he doesn't throw a pick six I consider it an upgrade

Well if it isn't a splash hire that everyone is looking for then what's the point because if you lose the top recruits we have they need to be replaced with other top recruits or you are looking at another year at least we won't be very good

I was going to say I don't think Riley is really the problem unless you look at the fact he brought in the assistants that suck. I think he's done a good job on the defensive side but he hasn't made the right moves on offense. It's not like he is the hands on coach teaching these kids techniques. It's not his fault we can't block.. it's his fault he hired someone who can't teach kids to block.

I think they need to put some feelers out and see if they people they want would be interested at all. If you don't think you are gonna get a guy all these recruits are gonna love then keep Riley.
