  1. I'm not sure you can label all fans as one or the other. In reality I think the majority are in the middle. We are frustrated and definitely not happy with our record... but many have been encouraged by the increased competitiveness. We were close to beating a few good teams. Our defense legitimately looked like black shirts of old at times. I think a good majority of the fans will be ok with a change if we finish the season poorly. However, if we can finish with momentum, most that I know will want the staff to come back. I'm of the opinion that firing our coach right now makes zero sense. Why not let the season play out to see what happens, then make a decision.
  2. That's not true... yet. I think the majority of the fan base would feel a 5th year would be deserving if we get to 6-6. If this season doesn't finish with momentum, I struggle to see how it makes sense to bring Scott back. I remain optimistic that we win 3 of our last 4 but it's a pretty tall task for this team.
  3. I'm not sure where this narrative started but it is completely false. We have an "easier" schedule next year but it isn't an easy schedule by an metrics. It looks easier because we are currently playing one of the hardest schedules in college football. Next year we play the teams currently ranked #3, #6, #11, and #25. We also have to go to Camp Randall, again- guessing Wisky will be better. Yes, we do get what appears to be easier crossover games against Rutgers and Indiana but nothing in the B1G is a guarantee as this last week showed. I am honestly torn regarding Frost. I am struggling to see success in the future but I also think there have been a lot of things go wrong at critical times that were out of his control. If the boys can find a way to win 3 of the last 4, I would be strongly in favor of retaining Frost. Anything less than that and I wouldn't fault Trev for making a change.
  4. This just illustrates what most of us here already know. You can't take a week off mentally in the Big 10. Huskers and Iowa both guilty this week.
  5. 4 games remaining so to early to make the decision imo. Reasons to retain- 1. Nebraska is in the middle of playing the #1 most difficult schedule on college football and prior to last night had looked like the better team most of the season. 2. There is obvious improvement to be seen over the past couple of years. 3. Nebraska still has the opportunity for a winning record of the can win 3 of 4 trending and a bowl game. I think we retain Scott for another year unless the team quits on him to end the season. If he loses the team, it's time. Yesterday seemed like the start of that but maybe they were just really tired after playing 8 straight. Idk
  6. It was a typo- that is the why Minny will win section.
  7. Fun season so far for you guys. Hoping they keep rolling- we need a change at the top.
  8. I watched the Michigan State game in a bar in Western Nebraska. I honestly felt like the atmosphere, and the attitude, was better. I can't speak for all the residents out there but can confidently say they were very die hard Husker fans. It was almost like stepping back in time 25 years- had a great time.
  9. Crazy thing is the op thought this thread was a good idea. Yes he leaves for the right opportunity. No, if it's some questionable job. Thought everyone knew that without an opinion thread...
  10. Nebraska 24 Minnesota 17 Rushing 185 Passing 265
  11. They are just trying to avoid all the drama & distractions because they are starting Williams over Rattler Saturday against TCU.
  12. Minnesota has had their struggles, no doubt. However, they have had an extra week to prepare and we are playing our 8th game without a break, in their house. I'm guessing the game will be more competitive than anyone of us would like and I do think Nebraska will struggle to put up points. Minnesota has given up an average of 9 points over their last 3 games... Their defense is still showing up. Nebraska 24 Minnesota 17 I hope I'm wrong and we can hang 40 on them... GBR
  13. He has had his struggles, and some early coaching problems, but he has turned into a pretty solid coach. The buyout is pretty large though so I don't see it happening personally.
  14. I'm not sure fan pressure can cause coaches to change play style in college as I believe it is rare for the majority of a fan base to be in agreement on specific style. While a lot of us on here hated the bubble screens, I don't think we make up a significant enough portion of the fan base to move the needle. I do think fan pressure can cause staff changes though.
  15. I would generally agree but... To make the playoff, Ohio State actually might need Michigan to be highly ranked going into the game this year. I think there is a fair chance 2 SEC teams make the playoff. There is also a fair chance the Big 12 gets a team in. Wake Forest realistically could run the table to earn a spot. If Oregon wins the Pac, they would likely get the nod over Ohio State for the playoff spot due to the head to head. Sounds crazy but Ohio State really needs Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, and Iowa to keep winning.
  16. Have to give Iowa fans credit. I haven't seen their crowd really have a major impact like they did in this game.
  17. Absolutely yes. Good thread and good question. Nebraska football is a business and we as fans are the customers. I think all businesses have to at minimum respect customer opinions. College football is a bit different in that the customers don't always agree on what they want or know the best path to get to what they want. However, if the majority of customers request a change, it definitely will have an impact on leadership decisions.
  18. It's really frustrating to all who love husker football. Plenty to gripe about but take a look back 12 months ago. The progress is obvious. Plenty of stuff hasn't been fixed and we should be frustrated imo. We are mad but keep in mind, we are playing the toughest schedule in college football... #1. And we are more than competitive. But damn it's getting old losing the close games by our own mistakes.
  19. That's it, you jinxed us. That's not part of the prayer.
  20. Saw this one a bit ago - https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2949010-college-football-picks-week-6-predictions-for-every-game No. 9 Michigan (5-0) at Nebraska (3-3), 7:30 p.m. ET It might be time to embrace the possibility that Nebraska is the second-best team in the Big Ten West. That seemed impossible after their Week 0 meltdown in the loss to Illinois, but the Cornhuskers gave both Oklahoma and Michigan State a serious run for their money on the road and won their other three games (Fordham, Buffalo and Northwestern) by a combined score of 136-17. Of particular note in advance of this showdown with Michigan, Nebraska has allowed just three rushing touchdowns all season and has limited its two most recent Big Ten foes to 56 carries for 108 yards. Meanwhile, Michigan's once-dominant rushing attack has tapered off considerably as of late, held below 3.0 yards per carry by both Rutgers and Wisconsin. If that mutual recent trend continues, there could be a major upset brewing in Lincoln. Michigan has held all five of its opponents to 17 points or fewer, but we're also talking about five offenses that rank outside of the top 60 in the country in total yards per game. With Adrian Martinez playing as well as he has been over the past five weeks, this is going to be the stiffest resistance Michigan's defense has faced thus far. Head coach Scott Frost will finally get a big W with the Huskers. Prediction: Nebraska 28, Michigan 23
  21. Here is a site that lists most of the options in the Hay Market area. Lot of different food and drink options. All are within walking distance to the stadium. https://lincolnhaymarket.org/
  22. Very true. Sure is nice to have the team playing well enough for them to have those thoughts though.
  23. If you would take the time to follow the conversation, you would understand my comment was only referring to the what if scenario asked previously. I am in no way predicting that and neither did they.
  24. Agree completely. A 6-3 Nebraska is likely ranked and that would be on the short list for college game day. There aren't many marquee games that day to contend with, IF Nebraska really is 6-3 going into the game and Ohio State keeps winning.
  25. Attend a game in Lincoln and then tell me how BS the streak is. Our stadium is full for every home game. However that is accomplished, it counts imo. You could give seats away for most other schools around the country and not fill their stadium 2/3 full. Husker fans show up, period. People around the country can "joke" about it all they want but the reality is 99% of the time it is jealousy because they don't have anywhere near the same fan support.
