  1. For starters, there is absolutely nothing pointing to MM being an upgrade. This is a player that most thought would never play the game again due to a horrific injury. It would be a complete gamble for any team to take him. I would be worried because our current QBs have demonstrated they do not have an entitled mentality. Best example, watch Adrian's pregame speech before we played Illinois. This was right after the kid was benched. He is a team player that cares- big difference between him and Fleming. I also believe that we have a good QB room. Put Adrian in the 2017 UCF offense and tell me he wouldn't have looked amazing. Receivers were running wide open all over the field and the running game was clicking... I believe our path to success here is going to be dependent on the development of the entire roster- not by injecting one used to be great player who has no chemistry with the team.
  2. Milton, even at his best, wouldn't look good in our current offense. I'm not sure anyone would. Bringing him here doesn't change our problems in the run game. It doesn't change our offensive line issues. It doesn't change our lack of experience at wide receiver. I think bringing Milton here would show a complete lack of faith in the development potential of our current QB roster and likely lead to quite a bit of attrition. I just can't see much upside to bringing him here right now.
  3. On another note, there is a decent chance we play Sparty on December 19th. That's it, he is a spy..
  4. Frosts comments about the clapping are in defense of our center, nothing more. He really believes in the kid and is trying to defend his shortcomings. Our fan base is getting tired of the bad snaps, and I think Scott is losing his patience a bit as well, so he is trying, ineffectively at this point, to run interference. Regarding Scott's demeanor, I agree with the take above. Scott is a brutally honest guy with most of his comments. Some love that, some hate it. The media preys on it because they want the next hot sound bite so their site gets the extra clicks from fans that don't actually watch and know what was said or in what context. I personally like his honesty and typically agree with his takes.
  5. I think the only way anything changes would be if you could get a current or former referee to admit to something. Pretty unlikely but it would be a story that ESPN, and other sports publications, would likely pay a nice sum of money for. The media loves a great scandal and the general American Public would be pretty interested. Just need to find the right disgruntled B1G referee.
  6. Flippin hate Colorado fans... Could care less about their football team.
  7. This has been going on for some time... It's a clear bias but there really isn't anything we can do about it. If Nebraska complains about it we are labeled whiners.
  8. Huskers 38 Purdue 23 Rushing 261 Passing 223
  9. Hoping we get selected by any bowl just so we get the practices.
  10. Fair enough - my point is that we look like a different team. Essentially, we are sucking in a different way that is much easier to correct. We are currently losing due to mental mistakes and youth lack of experience. In 2017, we were losing because our guys were getting man handled.
  11. This is done virtually everywhere. If you don't extend your coaches, it shows that you are considering making a change in the coming year or two. This can have a very damaging effect on recruiting. Who wants to agree to go play for a coach that might not be there?
  12. 2017 Illinois also went winless in the B1G and was starting a roster full of underclassmen. It was Lovie Smith's reset... Nebraska just played against many of the same players with 4 years of experience.
  13. Watch these two games. To me this tells the story of our progress. Both are losses against the same team. We are a much better team under Frost. Of note, also look at the number of upperclassmen on the Husker roster for the 2017 game compared to what we played with Friday.
  14. Well December 21st is the shortest day of the year, so yes, darker days are ahead. I encourage anyone who is feeling down about this team to watch a few replays of the Riley's last season and then re-watch our 2020 games against NW, Penn State, Iowa, etc... We are a much better team. Yes, we are making mistakes but there is massive progress if you can sit back without emotion an see what's happening. In my opinion, I believe most fans are upset right now because they know we were good enough to be sitting at 1 or 2 losses right now instead of 4. It's frustrating as hell but we are in a much better position than we were 3 years ago.
  15. Not at all. I have been an Adrian fan all along. You just sound like a broken record slamming FROST without acknowledging any of the reasons behind the situation we are in. We get it. None of us are happy about our current record but we try to look a bit deeper than- our coach sucks.
  16. Scott has shown a willingness to play freshman. These two weren't getting more snaps for a reason. They didn't like the reason so therefore are not going to be part of the long term solution. Every coach at every level deals with these issues to some degree. Entitled mentalities can ruin team chemistry. I won't lose a bit if sleep about them being gone.
  17. We currently have the best group of underclassmen in the west... Some of them are already receiving NFL talk. We have almost no uperclassmen considered to be "better talent". Who, outside of critical Husker Fans, thinks the big 10 west is the weakest division in power 5? Sure as hell not the coaches who vote on rankings.
  18. A lot of QB's do that... Because they have receivers that can go get those balls. Best recent example is LSU last year. QB was good but man those receivers made him amazing.
  19. Vedral was never going to be the answer here. Great kid but not the level we need to run our offense. He can't even hold the starting job at Rutgers.
  20. I would disagree. Scott has by far had the toughest job of any husker coach in our lifetime. Name another coach left in his position. The man is earning his money...
  21. I also thought we played good enough to win through most of the game. We were a fumbled punt and a few missed blocks away from winning. Adrian played pretty dang good considering the snaps and rough line play. If we played like that last week, we would have won easily. They were on the field, in the way of the ref running the sideline.
  22. Scott's comments about Luke being the future earlier this week make sense. Let the kids know you believe in him even though AM is going to get the start.
