I play in a couple of big bowl game pools so I have been watching some. Last night Vandy vs Baylor was actually a really entertaining game. In general I agree with you guys but some football is better than no football. I hate the offseason...

Recruiting rankings follow success - not the other way around imo. When teams overachieve their supposed current level of talent, they generally attract higher level recruits. Of course we see small jumps from coaching hires, local talent influx, etc but in general I see recruiting rankings as something that happens, not necessarily something that controls or indicates the future. While the correlation between recruiting rankings and championships exists, I believe the reasoning for the championships is coaching. Bottom line is we don't need top 5 classes but rather we need the coaching that will attract better recruits on a consistent basis. I believe we have that now.

20 years seems appropriate if not light to me. Someone willing to break into another person's home and steal what they have worked to earn has no place in our society. Lucky they didn't break into someone's house when they were home. Who knows how that goes down? Does someone die?

I got to watch this kid in person at the championship game against Utica. He was impressive for sure. Our coaching staff spent a lot of time game planning around him and he still was a huge factor.

Lot of teams out there with good records. I'm just happy to see Nebraska being ranked and mentioned with a lot of these schools for a change.

Great stats that really show the kids got heart.... But there is a reason he isn't being recruited by the big schools. Nebraska doesn't need feel good stories right now, we need 4.4, juke you out of your socks, amazing athletes...and a few bad a$$ pass rushers.

I think that's a given unless he gets hurt. He is exactly what the NFL wants right now. There isn't a team in the country that doesn't want Mahomes on their roster- they have many of the same attributes currently.

I don't really care how they get it done but there should be a representative from each P5 conference. Beyond that, it honestly doesn't matter. Under the current system, strong conferences are cannibalizing each other to the point they are left out. For example, the B1G beat each other up in the regular season (2017) but went 7-1 in the bowl games. They weren't playoff worthy because Ohio State lost to Iowa in the middle of a loaded schedule... It's a crappy system to me.

A lot of time and energy into this kid- sure hope it works out. Nebraska's future sure looks a lot brighter than any of the other schools he has on his list imo.

Heisman his sophomore year and to the NFL after his junior year as a first round pick. The way the NFL is drooling over the Mahomes type of talent, hard to project him playing a whole career if he progresses the way we all hope he does.

Fair points- I just find it curious to hear the loudest complaining (that I have heard) coming at the time the team seems to be doing the best it has under TM. Maybe I have been under a rock or just not paying attention since the teams wasn't news worthy a couple years ago.

All of us here in Utica thought it was pretty cool to see - he played here for Centennial through his Junior year. Him and his dad spent a lot of time kicking here on our simple field- glad to that commitment payed off big.

Very true BB. He definitely isn't a TO caliber coach yet but I was just making the point that so many of us are never happy. I'm guessing the same people will be upset if Frost goes 9-3 next year smh.

I can understand the negative sentiments to a degree but I must be watching something different from what the most critical are. Over the last 43 games, we are 30-13. That's better than most in our conference including Indiana, Maryland, Wisconsin etc. Again, TM isn't a world beater (yet?) but the results are there right now. We may as well enjoy them and be positive. I realize we lose a lot of talent this coming year but we see freshmen stars emerge in basketball yearly. If we can make a decent tournament run, maybe we attract a couple here?

Last night was the best Nebraska has looked in years. TM isn't perfect by any means but 22 wins last year and a great start to this season should garner a little respect.

Palmer hasn't looked the same to me this year. He isn't playing with the same intensity imo. I sure hope he finds his mojo soon because the schedule only gets tougher from here.

A dome is absolutely crazy... But I can see the vision. Championship game hosting, bowls, future NFL team(yuck), non conference sec home games, huge recruiting advantage, etc... Would take way to many years to pay for though.

Suh was the 5th highest rated recruit we have ever had according to 247. Marlon was the highest recruit ever...and in the same 2005 class.

We are 5-5 with you over the last 10 meetings -arguably our worst stretch of football in program history. That's as good as it gets for you. Enjoy it now because it won't last and you know it.
