  1. Can't believe no one got the Animal House reference. I think there are too many young people who don't know enough about Great American Historic Films. It's sad, really. Because there could be some lag time between now and signing day/baseball season/summer football maybe the board should institute a required movie reading for those of us under 30. Just to enrich the board environment of course! Here's a couple I would require: 1. Animal House 2. Bull Durham 3. The Jerk 4. Caddyshack 5. Airplane 6. Field of Dreams 7. The SHining
  2. tide is turning- no pun intended
  3. that and I don't want next year's qb to get this kind of experience
  4. WHo was singing? I flipped back late.
  5. Try the more sports board
  6. Is Mushberger pale or is Herbie unusally tan? And screw M. Brown say'n his team didn't like the way they played against Nebraska- they didn't play well because we were better.
  7. THat doesn't seem out of line to me
  8. 1. Oklahoma- a sinking ship was righted 2. Texas-everyone in the country saw and everyone in the country talked about it. Once again, we are back in the national eye. We gain some fans from around the country for our smash mouth moxie.
  9. next year's OSU game = to this year's Texas Tech game, especially if we start strong in the B12. It's just kind of a trap
  10. Gomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssss or OWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA- if a certain player makes Lincoln his home.
  11. T.O had a similar deal and had a bypass surgury. HE was back by the beginning of the next season. TO's stoic field demeanor should not have caused his body stress, so the origin of the problem would have been genetic. But Meyer did look pale and weak last night.
  12. If you have some extra time try whatifsports.com. The 95 Huskers kill everyone, under every condition. Tommie did deserve the Heisman, but so did Eddie George. I wonder, but I am not going to look it up, if that was the last year that the Heisman winner did not play in the NC game
  13. I have cussed NP many a time this year, but it only because I knew what he was capable of. I'm very proud of him and am so glad that he was named the MVP. He's a warrior. He pulled a gut-check mid season and worked hard to improve and get consistant.
  14. I was just thinking the same thing. It was a two step forward one step back kinda of year that finished so much stronger then it started. I have to admit in mid October I was thinking WTF? Why are we getting worse? But I'll take a slow build the irons out all the wrinkles over a quick fix anyday. Remember the 18-16 loss to FSU in 93? I wonder if the next two years, and the unfinished business tour, would have played out the same if we a. get killed in that game(we were 17 point underdogs) or b. win easily. 94' was a ride I will never forget as a fan and I can feel it starting now. 2010 is going to a good year. A real good, good year.
  15. He runs with such reckless abandon that I fear for his health.
  16. YEs- congrats. Hope you had a great time.
  17. You do realize it rained the entire second half.... Yes
  18. What happened to Kunalic? He slipped on the last kickoff
  19. the 2009 Huskers remind me of the 99 Sooners. Building, building, building.....then NC a year later. Does anyone remember watching the Sooners in the 99' Independence Bowl thinking"Uh Oh, they're back" Even though they had five losses.
  20. this is a must watch- great stuff right there
  21. I see what you are saying but I don’t buy it that a coach can’t reach a certain level and not get any better. Just like guys can get better or worse they can also stay right where they are. It happens in every single aspect of life so why should coaching be immune to that? Barney’s Big 12 history showed us that you could expect 17-24 PPG and 300-350 YPG. If those types of offensive numbers are acceptable then nobody should be calling for Watson’s head because the stats from this year fall right in those categories (24 PPG 315 YPG). If your going to take an average, shouldn't you throw out the game with the highest number of points/yards, and the game with the lowest? Actually you would probably just throw out he numbers for the UL-Lafayette game because it is outside of the 1st standard deviation.
  22. I was going to ask earlier: when did this kid get his concussion? I am not doubting it(yet) but could it have been faked? edited to add:I ask this because the allegations do not pass the reasonableness test so I have some doubt as to the validity of the situation that produced the allegations. Leach could still be very guilty- and if he is he should be fired. But I have a hunch that there are some mitigating factors.
  23. That's just McCoys fingernail scatches as he was trying swipe Suh away. I love that he just wearing Blackshirt jersey.
