I see what you are saying but I don’t buy it that a coach can’t reach a certain level and not get any better. Just like guys can get better or worse they can also stay right where they are. It happens in every single aspect of life so why should coaching be immune to that? Barney’s Big 12 history showed us that you could expect 17-24 PPG and 300-350 YPG. If those types of offensive numbers are acceptable then nobody should be calling for Watson’s head because the stats from this year fall right in those categories (24 PPG 315 YPG). If your going to take an average, shouldn't you throw out the game with the highest number of points/yards, and the game with the lowest? Actually you would probably just throw out he numbers for the UL-Lafayette game because it is outside of the 1st standard deviation.

I was going to ask earlier: when did this kid get his concussion? I am not doubting it(yet) but could it have been faked? edited to add:I ask this because the allegations do not pass the reasonableness test so I have some doubt as to the validity of the situation that produced the allegations. Leach could still be very guilty- and if he is he should be fired. But I have a hunch that there are some mitigating factors.
