  1. I think most Nebraska fans would be content with Pat's records rights now. 9-4 in year 3, 5 bowl games in a row, then 4 in a row.
  2. It is a lot easier to transfer now than years ago since the NCAA is trying to avoid the whole paying athletes thing. I think if we recruited more Midwestern kids like Iowa, we'd have a lot less transfers. At some point, Nebraska needs to stop worrying about the stars behind an athlete's name and coach them up. We are constantly out recruiting the likes of Wisconsin, Iowa State, and Iowa, but it means very little. Make that 2 to 3 star player into a 4 star or that 4 star into a 5 star yourself. It feels like we have a lot of good athletes here that are either regressing or just not getting any playing time for whatever reason. If we don't have the coaches to do it, then it will need to be the next group of coaches.
  3. I didn't really believe the Spielman rumors at first. The guy passed up being the all time Nebraska leader in receiving yards to be a backup at TCU, so nothing will surprise me.
  4. Wandale would be a horrible loss. If Frost can't keep his best players that play a lot, I'm not sure what type of future Frost has here.
  5. The guy is a 7th round prospect if even that from what I've read. I suppose he could elevate his stock if invited to the NFL combine and he performs well. It would have been nice if he could have stuck around 5 more days to protect his QB, but whatever I guess. Good luck to him.
  6. I feel bad that one of my sons is a huge fan, but has only ever known crappy play from Nebraska. My other son is more of an Iowa State fan who have done more with less. I think replacing RIley was the right thing to do. Frost seemed like a no brainer, but he seems unwilling to adjust his scheme or staff for the Big 10 style of play. I thought he'd be more flexible. I still think a coach can be at least on the Pelini or Solich type level here. If it can be done at places like Wisconsin, Iowa, and Iowa State who have less talent than it can be done here. We just need better coaches that can develop talent. If Scott can't get it done by year 5, then we don't need a splash hire, just someone that can develop talent and adopt better to things.
  7. I haven't seen anything from Frost that shows he can make adjustments in games when things aren't going right. Nebraska can't score more than a few points in second halves of games. Anybody could see from yesterday's game that Martinez could not hit anything past 10 yards, yet Frost kept going back to the passing game. I don't care what Martinez does in practice when he doesn't have to worry about getting jacked by any defenders or any other game day differences. If he is struggling in the game, help him out by not calling plays that are his weakness. The only time we won this year was when we had huge leads that we somehow still managed to almost lose anyways. Frost needs to fire Frost from playcalling.
  8. I disagree with the take that it is Frost or nothing. I think we can win more with a Big 10 style of coach. There are teams out there like Wisconsin and Iowa that win more with less talent. Frost should at least give up playcalling duties to a capable OC.
  9. We need a QB that can make basic throws past 10 yards.
  10. Our special teams suck. Back to missing easy FG. Even with wind, have to make that.
  11. We need a turnover on our defense badly and a big strike by our offense.
  12. Special teams horrible this year as usual. Only FG ok.
  13. Nebraska always sells out on 4th and short which means an easy touchdown if you break through the line. Nebraska could not have had a worse start. They really needed to jump out early to capitalize on any rust Minnesota had. This is not a good sign.
  14. I'm willing to wait 5 years before joining the fire him crowd, so another 2 years of losing to go along with these 3. I don't think Frost is our only chance for success. I am of the opinion that we could be successful in the Big 10 with a coach that played a more Big 10 style of football. This Florida Fast hasn't worked that well yet. Next time around if there is one, we would be better off signing an assistant coach off one of the more successful Big 10 teams than trying to make a splash hire.
  15. Who knows if there will even be a decent vaccine by early next year and how effective it will be? Nebraska should try to play this year if they legally can get out of the Big 10 for a season. I'd even take them taking Old Dominion's place in Conference USA or going back to the Big 12 rather than put up with the Big 10 delay tactics that may never result in play this coming season.
  16. Who will be calling the plays? That is one of my major concerns coming off last season.
  17. He was in a sophomore slump ALL season. Hopefully, he works on his tentativeness and seeing the whole field in the offseason. His biggest issues were mental mistakes this year.
  18. My biggest concern is when the game is on the line and all we need is a stop for OT or the win, can the defense be depended on? The answer right now is no. We had a 3rd string QB go in late and drive the length of the field on us. We had another team with 30 seconds left and multiple ref calls go against their team still get in FG range for the game winner.
  19. Most opposing fans hate Nebraska and take joy from it, particularly Big 10, Big 12, and AAC fans of certain schools. I'd like Nebraska to be bowl eligible like half this list. Sucks that it may be awhile before we ever get back to even Pelini levels of success.
