  1. One of my fears are the low passes he throws over the middle of the field. He had the one pick against NW and had a couple close calls Saturday. I don't know whether it is really an issue or the play call or what, but his throws over the middle scared me every time on Saturday.
  2. For Luke to have much success the rest of this year (and honestly AM if he came back too) we have got to establish a non QB run game. Currently teams can stuff our running backs with their base players and with no deep threat or play action threat they can walk safeties up and make it even harder to run and pass short. If this continues teams are going to spy the QB to stop his running (pretty sure PSU did this in the second half) and take away the short throws and force Luke or AM to beat them with mid-deep passes. So far we haven't shown the ability to do that. So, unless we start running better or our QBs start throwing deeper passers better defenses are going to continue to slow our offense down and stuff us in the red zone.
  3. Frost said something along the lines he liked it because it worked. If we're being honest that was a super risky play that worked that one time and it's likely that the same play in the future is incomplete or worse a fumble/interception. Luke's a gamer and that's fun, but it doesn't always work that way.
  4. Luke got the win and did plenty of good today. Most of the criticism I've seen is fair and so is the praise. The key is how does he look after a team has full game film and preps for him all week.
  5. I mean some of that has to be the WRs and OL right? If we've somehow failed to develop a down field passer between AM and LM we've gotta rethink our QB development.
  6. I felt this way coming into the game and nothing changes my mind. Luke has some strengths Adrian doesn't and Adrian has some Luke doesn't. I don't think our offense really works better with either. If Betts shovel is considered a run we threw for less than 100 yards today...
  7. Who picked the Huskers to go winless in the media? I was starting to worry they'd be right haha
  8. I wonder some if the play calling was in part bases on what Luke can do. Honestly seemed like they called it a lot different than when AM has been in.
  9. Defense is the strength of the team, they continue to show that. Luke played fine, but honestly missed some reads and his passing is ok at best. 54 of his 152 yards were on the shovel to Betts. It's probably his team for now but it's not night and day different from AM. Running game is hot garbage outside of the QB. The mistakes have got to get cleaned up. Coaches to captains making mistakes and that feeds to the rest of the team.
  10. If we're being honest the defense won this game for us today.
  11. Agreed. Honestly thought we were coming into the season with two potentially great QBs and we currently seem to have two average ones with opposite issues of the other.
  12. He is better at short passes, quick decisions, and brings a little more to the running game compared to AM. I think AM is a better passer when he's not in his head. I don't know what happens but he loses it and gets all sorts of inaccurate. Honestly neither are as good as I hoped coming into the season.
  13. Ya they are keying on Luke and Wan'Dale. That has to set us up for some other plays.
  14. If AM has thrown that ball everyone would be made it wasn't a spiral... Luke is playing good though.
  15. Ya I agree. I mean I get the arguments that could come for not playing the young guys, but at this point what's really the risk? Warner, Liewer and Falck aren't getting it done and we're losing game so you throw in the young guys and they don't get it done and we lose games, but at least they got experience. Plus from what I saw last week Fleming and Betts and likely Brown are a lot more dangerous than the walk on guys. At RB we just need to throw guys in and see what happens.
  16. The question is really will we screw up more honestly. Plus, the fact that our chances come down to Penn State screwing up means we're doing really well.
  17. Our rushing game is my concern too. The QB is important, but honestly I think you get about the same from LM and AM when it's all said and done. The fact is our QBs are the leading rusher on the team week after week. That's not a recipe for success and just wears them down by the end of the game. We have got to get the rushing game going without the QB somehow or another. My other big issue is the disappearance of Wan'Dale. Obviously teams are going to try and take him away, but you have got to design something to get him the ball in space. He's too dynamic and too good to have what 10 touches in 2 games? Get him the freaking ball somehow.
  18. Ya that could be I agree he seemed in a good mood. He just looks a little rough, ha.
  19. Frost looks like he hasn't slept all week.
  20. The two hospitals here in Billings, MT which are the largest in the region have started pulling the extra couch/beds that dads usually use in the maternity ward in order to put patients on. They have also taken over vacant buildings and one is building an entire new wing to help with respiratory issues. They've brought in out of state staff and others have come out of retirement. They are both STILL full and completely overwhelmed and the nurses and doctors I know are literally breaking down when they talk about what's going on. So, NO I don't think our current measures are doing enough or that we are "living in fear" instead we are maxing out our healthcare system to the point that people are going to start dying at higher rates of other treatable conditions and they are going to have to decide who they treat an who they don't. So, let's stop pretending like what we are doing is fine or working. It's obviously not.
  21. Since he quoted it I am assuming it is a song lyric. I Googled it and it appears to be from the song One Shot by Lil Zay Osama. I don't think I'd read in to it much further than it just fit what he had on his mind.
  22. Fields knee being down on the 4th down play, but they let it go and never review it.
