  1. They've been very few and very far between. When you have a record of 10-29 against P5 opponents and 0-11 against Top 25 teams there aren't a lot of bright spots.
  2. Much earned and deserved O player of the week. It's mind boggling (and not acceptable) that 2018 last time a Husker earned this award.
  3. While not super mobile he appears to be able to be able to move around pretty well. I have to wonder if a lot of his staying put is predicated by the coaching staff.
  4. You drinkin' that Kool-Aid again? There are 130 FBS teams I believe.
  5. You sound like a great fan. Just the kind DONU needs!
  6. Short Side Option - Herbie's Hangout - North Dakota Preview
  7. Even if it is a 60% success rate it is still way too big a risk IMHO. You've just gone up 11 and have regained the momentum you lost at the end of the 1st half. And knowing how HCSF's teams have self destructed in the face of adversity on an almost weekly basis putting them in this position was almost guaranteed to change the outcome of the game. But maybe Frost saw the team was already fading from the seeing the second half of the 2nd quarter and knew it was only a matter of time until NW wore them down completely so trying to put up more points by any means possible was his only hope.
  8. SSO breaks down the edge play and how NW neutralized our rush Saturday. Northwestern Recap 2022: Edge Play
  9. I was 5-7 before the game and I'm sticking to that although it may be optimistic now. Before the NW game I was beginning to think 5-7 was a little pessimistic with all the Kool-Aid flowing but then I thought back to the last 4 years and decided it was just about right for the current coaching staff even with a more favorable schedule.
  10. He'll probably start next week and we won't see any of the players that played this week judging from the past RB rotations. Maybe there is a method to the madness but I've never been able to figure it out since the rotation seems random.
  11. After yesterday I see no reason to argue that Fitz is #2 in the B1G or Frost is #14. I Fitz was our coach.
  12. I wouldn't be opposed to going that route since I really question if we will ever be able to hire a top D1-A coach now that we have pretty much turned into a bottom feeder. Lots of more attractive destinations with huge recruiting advantages for a top coach that wants to move.
  13. So you hire a new HC and force him to retain some of the leftovers from the prior failed staff? At this level I would hope any coach worth his salt is going to tell you to take a hike at that point and take a job where he is in control, not the AD. Sure, he would have the option to retain whomever he would see fit but you can't force assistants on him. I can't see Trev even considering this.
  14. I don't know. Seemed to me the very few times they had a crease to run through they looked pretty good. But on the majority of the running plays they were met by a wall of purple at the LOS. Unless the OL can open some holes I don't think it matters who we have in the RB room.
  15. We had 110 yards on 31 carries for a 3.5 yd/rush average. That is beyond pathetic and will make it a very long season in the B1G when we start facing tougher competition. There was absolutely no push on the majority of the running plays. NW had 214 yards on 47 carries for a 4.5 yd/rush average for comparison.
  16. What about going for coach with no head coaching experience? It seems to work out MUCH better for us. Couldn't be much worse than our current coach who was a consensus home run, perfect fit and destined for great things hire. Looking at our last 6 HC hires. Every coach we've hired with previous HC experience has been an unmitigated disaster. Every coach we've hired without HC experience has been successful. Coaches with previous HC experience. 61-71 - 46.2% Callahan 27-22 Riley 19-19 Frost 15-30 Coaches without previous HC experience. 380-95-3 - 79.5% Osborne 255-49-3 Solich 58-19 Pelini 67-27
  17. I learned puking extensively during camp doesn't equate to good OL play.
  18. Note to self. Don't pay any attention to what Jim in MN has to say in the future.
  19. That's quite a stretch considering we've only won 6 division games total in Frost's 4 year tenure.
  20. Short Side Option - Herbie's Hangout - Northwestern Preview Good breakdown of teams.
  21. Sean Callahan said they waited in order to shorten the time they were on the field. Apparently the longer they are on the grass/turf, the more difficult they are to remove.
