  1. The way the entire B1G has looked this year outside of OSU it is not entirely out of the question. But I would be (pleasantly) shocked if we go into the big house and pull this one out. And I would also be surprised if AM plays. I think think this will be our worst loss of the year to date.
  2. Nebr - 7 Mich - 24 Rushing - 126 Passing - 167
  3. Not related to the game today but Chris Hickman committed tonight so the gives us a clean sweep of the top in-state players. Help on the way.
  4. I'd rather they pick up an FCS game on Oct. 27. And we are still undefeated in conf. play 0-0 baby.
  5. Mo Washington appears to be our most dynamic player by a long shot. If he can bulk up a little, stay healthy and sticks around he should be a legend by the time he graduates.
  6. Exactly. Burrow left OSU because of why? Oh, he wasn't named the starter there. Wherever he went he was going to have to have some assurance he would be the starter or he might as well have stayed at OSU. If you bring him in here and promise him #1 position what do you tell Martinez? "You were are #1 target to run this offense but we brought this other guy in to start. Enjoy riding the pine for the next two years until Burrow is gone." No way in hell Frost does that. And I'm not afraid to put lot of the blame on Gebbia for totally bailing on his team and teammates at the last possible minute leaving them in very bad situation. I know everybody says that is the OK but in my mind it shows ultimate selfishness and lack of integrity.
  7. I was going to post the same thing. He was thrown to the lions that night. He did his best but was in way over his head.
  8. I haven't been back to Nebr. in a long time. Has interest in the program fallen off that much? I would have thought in Frost's first year interest would remain high even with a few losses along the way but it sounds like people aren't really into Husker football like the old days if they can't sell out a final game that may be the difference between a bowl or not. Pretty sad news. But I'm not in favor of a Dec. game regardless. There should be a few teams would could schedule Oct. 27 with the hurricane cancelations. Tenn. St., E Carolina etc.
  9. This game could be closer than a lot of people think. Troy won big last week but was trounced by BSU in week 1. But, Troy had 4 lost fumbles and an INT in that game against a good BSU squad. If they don't commit those turnovers the game would more than likely have been a lot closer. Not saying they would have won but it probably wouldn't have been a blow-out. The CU game scared me (enough that I picked the correct winner in the prediction contest). This game scares me too, especially if AM sits out. But rest easy since I picked DONU for a narrow victory this week. I hope I'm wrong and we blow them out of the stadium like the good old days.
  10. Troy - 27 NU - 28 Rushing - 138 Passing - 211
  11. No to UCF for any number of reasons including the absolute massive media circus that would be created plus they are probably a better team at this point so why schedule what could likely be another loss. Plus, the dynamic of Frost & staff going up against UCF the year after leaving would be unwelcome for all of them I'm sure. And no to the Dec. date. That is the first week of full recruiting before the early signing day. I'd much rather the staff be out on the road recruiting. Try to get a game on Oct. 27 even if it does kill the bye week before OSU. Looking at their their talent level this year I don't think an extra is going to help us much.
  12. Do you guys think Frost will discuss the Martinez injury at the press conference tomorrow? Things like the extent of the injury and expected time to be out or will he decline to discuss it at all? I seem to remember the staff stating they wouldn't talk about injuries during the season and am curious how they will handle this.
  13. I read he is visiting this weekend for the CU game.
  14. I miss the Big 8 and the teams we played every year, it is what I grew up with. The conference totally went to hell once the Texas teams were allowed to join. So no, I don't miss the Big 12 and would much rather be in the B1G at this point.
  15. This doesn't surprise me. Take out the home field advantage and it is basically a push which is the way I see it. Two pretty evenly matched teams.
  16. CU - 38 NU - 24 Rushing - 136 Passing - 187
  17. I've read he will be eligible to enroll in Dec. and will have 2 years of eligibility left.
  18. It is Mile High Stadium still. While you might trade a home game the NU athletic dept. sure as hell won't. The #1 requirement for scheduling is to get 7 home games every year. It is imperative financially. And with the 9 game conf. schedule they only get 4 home conf. games every other year which makes scheduling difficult since they must play all 3 non-conf. games at home in those years.
  19. I was just going to post that. Interesting there are discussions of a make-up game on week #14 if either team needs it to be bowl eligible.
  20. I think it makes these next two games must wins. While I was expecting to win the first three games, losing one was not beyond the realm of possibility. Assuming we don't add another game we will need to go 4-5 in B1G play to become bowl eligible if we beat CU & Troy. If, heaven forbid, we drop one of those two games we would need need to go 5-4 in B1G play. With our schedule that will be a lot harder than going 4-5.
  21. I see NU opens as a 5 point favorite over CU. Interesting.
  22. This game scares me for a season/career opener considering the wholesale changes the team has gone through and no real game experience. And as bad as CSU looked, CU did look good and took advantage of the opportunity. I'm not a gambler but will be interested in the opening line on this game. It has to be a tough one for the odds makers to pick.
  23. I think this is the most likely outcome.
