I think everyone agrees with this statement. Personally, I'm not against rooting for Midwest teams. Couple years back Iowa was undefeated coming into the husker game. I found myself (and not ashamed to admit it) rooting for Iowa. Nebraska wasn't going to be bowl eligible even with a win and Iowa had a shot at going undefeated and reaching the playoff.. That day, for the first and only time of my life, that day I was ok with Iowa winning. Back to Cade though.. man does this blow for that young man. I feel bad for him, for his family and for his mental strain. Hopefully he heals up and is able to get a waiver on the season. Iowa fan, I feel your pain!!

Seriously @CyHawk Not a single person on this board will deny that past coaches did some shady things but it wasn't just one player that has called Iowa's racism out and it was significant enough that it cost at least one coach his position. It is a tarnish and deservedly so but one the University will undoubtedly rise above. Still to diminish and deny is a discredit to the efforts that University is and has taken to avoid the issue going forward. edit: also, let me add, more often than not those in denial are so because they themselves are guilty. There's zero place in this world for "any" type of racism yet all too often it exists and though I hate to admit it, the midwest seems to be becoming a brewing ground for severe prejudices be it of religious, ethnic or gender identity. Disgusting to say the least.

Wow... that is a difficult early season schedule. The 3 former conference foes (gotta get 1 win there) then Grand Canyon (1 there at least, 2 will be awesome) and then to the east coast and College of Charleston (ball will be fly that weekend. Tough series). Hoping we can come out of february with 5 wins but reallisticly i see 4. (5 means we win both the GCU and CC series)

For those that don't know (this includes myself until I read the below article on Huskers.com..) Nebraska's new pitcher Kyle Froehlich had an older brother that passed away. He writes about his youth and credits it to the lesson an older brother taught him. In the end he learns the true meaning of sports. If you've not read the article might I suggest you do and as a tribute to Clark and for respect of a hero to his little brother let me also suggest you read his obituary here.
