  1. I think Frostie knows his time of excuses has come to an end. He a football season this year in spite of mr. covid. Players developed, playbook developed, experience gained and most of the seniors are returning. Excuses won't be anything more than shameful admittance of not having the answers. Pretty sure all on here feel that way.
  2. Genuine Question: Have you ever considered what our beloved program would currently look like if TO would have done what he should have done and that is, taking over as the AD when Coach D was retired. Solich likely remains, Bo stays as a DC along with the other young coaches Solich brought in. Callahan/Cosgrove never arrive. The program likely remains consistent and in at least a couple more conference championship games. We likely never leave the Big 12. We likely remain very relevant in the sport as a whole and well.. Solich likely retires, takes over as AD and Frost arrives with a solid foundation that stretches over a 40 year span. Odd so many forget that much of our current environment is a direct correlation to a decision (right or wrong) made by a man we hold so dear!
  3. Hmm.. where there's smoke, there's fire.. (except in college sports). Chip's not going anywhere. Bank on it
  4. @lo country - do you really believe there remains a chance of getting to a bowl? I'd think maybe an agreement to play one team outside of conference in a warm climate but highly doubt a bowl invite.
  5. This Bill would bring an end to college sports as a whole. University funding would be non-existent thereby reducing student athlete privileges like say the dining halls, travel costs would likely be charged to them and deducted and who knows what other deductions would magically arise. Imagine trying to finance a new $130 million dollar athletic compound under this Bill. Wouldn't happen.
  6. So, thought I'd lift everyone's spirits today with a shot from the past.. Enjoy I can never decide if it's the song I like the most or the Liz.. you decide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztmoPIG_2wI

  13. 6-6 baby... 1 bad loss, 1 unexpected win and the rest is wine and cheese with a sprinkle of jalapenos mixed in!
  14. Sadly, yes. Sadly, only because it shows how pathetic my Friday nights are. lol
  15. Gotta Say... I'm overly excited about our 2021 season if for no other reason then with baseball comes "hopefully" the beginning of the end to this covid disaster. It began with spring sports, let it also end with spring sports. We need NORMAL back!! Peanuts and Popcorn! The sound of the crack of the Bat! We need fans yelling at umpires and coaches kicking dirt over the bag! Most of all, we need that sweet, sweet sound of a normal game with lots of fans signing the 7th inning stretch again!!!
  16. Huge Shout Out to ALL our NEW HUSKERS!!!  (Recruits and Walkon's alike! Both are huge and greatly appreciated components of Husker Lore!!)

Thanks each of You and May your time here be filled with Many Awesome Memories, Shouts of Joy and a Lifetime of Gains!!

    #GBR!!!

  17. You mentioned Lombardi.. that in itself is worthy of the +1 One hard nosed, run the damn ball, bloody nosed, piss in your pants, filthy grinder... That's what football should be. Blood/Sweat/Tears and a little nasty as dessert!
  18. Maybe the skers and rines (as in wolverines) might decide to play 1 additional game to see which team is actually the worst. Yikes!!!
  19. So.. thought I'd look into this as more useless football info to file in my already overfilled brain.. Looking at his wiki.. his first 3 years at buffalo were anything but spectacular. It took him 3 seasons with his first spectacular Div 1 season being his 4th. Might Frost also see the same jump in his 4th.. Here's hoping and thinking with a glass half full.
  20. Just asking... Am I reading into your posts that it is your opinion that Garrison is a better developer of talent or a better strategist? Both maybe and if so, how?
  21. You state "for you the increased knowledge of the scheme/culture/whatever.... Am I wrong in my thinking? Can anyone more knowledgeable then me on O-Line techniques say with reasonable certainty that our line technique is improved? Yes were young but still, why are pulling guards/tackles not getting to their blocks. Why is our line giving up so many tackles for loss in our backfield by opposing lb's? This is where I scratch my head. It seems our o-line is not moving the line of scrimmage like they should surely that can't just be a youth thing. Or.. is it and my ignorance is really showing?
  22. Not saying your wrong about Austin.. I am a novice fan. Yes I understand the game, I know (through commentary) the difference of different defenses and the importance of say a Left Tackle or Center's ability to read defenses and make line of scrimmage calls. Still, I'm a novice that knows very little about technique or what technically is required on a RPO vs a 3 hole dive.. What I think I know is the lack of improvement. This was Austin's 3rd year here. Frost made a hard call and replaced the o-cordinator last year and it seems we've actually recessed in our production. Meanwhile and surprisingly, the defense has played reasonably well. Has shown improvements in all three groups. Hence the reason I think an "offensive" change is needed and I think you evaluate, discuss, measure and decide. The frustrating thing for me is, though we've seen improvement across the defense but not in any of the offensive groups (line, backs, qb, receivers). So, it's either scheme or coaching.. both are correctable but both will require courage. If its a lack of coaching, replace.. if its an inadequate scheme, change and God help if its both. (don't want to even consider both)
  23. Just curious I guess and well.. decided a thread just as well begin. As I've stated in previous posts, I'm not at all happy with our O-Line performance and frankly haven't been for quite some time. I went back to the books to see how the offensive stats under Bo compared and it's glaringly better. John Garrison (a former NU grad) was our O-Line coach and players played hard for him and he wasn't afraid to coach hard. There's multiple links about him my favorite is probably this NU Line Shows steady Progress and frankly, I'm wondering if he may be coerced into returning. Currently at NC State (7-3) with wins over a couple decent programs and yes, NC State actually runs the ball well. Thoughts?
  24. Morning Everyone.. It's been a hard weekend to swallow for all of us I'm sure. There remains so much animosity around the program right now from the fans and I fully understand it. That said however, the players are staying focused on the task at hand. Everyone here knows we are 2 years away from seeing what Frostie's potential can be. Everyone here can see the differences in athletes before Frost and current. Everyone (myself included) is aching desperately for immediate results and frankly, obviously, it's not going to happen. I'm not one that believes a staff turnover is necessary. Yes, I think a new O-line coach is needed and maybe a new RB coach. (Though Held is a recruiting machine) The doubt I have in Held though may simply be the O-Line coaching and not the RB coaching. I like Austin as a front man for the line but I don't think he's a Milt Tenopir or even a McBride (hard nosed) type. I think Held should be given the chance to coach with a new O-Line coach before he's canned. Just my opinion.. Gotta say though, the continued negativity here and on every board and fish wrap within the state is not at all helping. Let us not forget the BEST things in LIFE are worth WAITING for. Lets be a little more patient and more positive.
