  1. Well, we all still dream of the used to be. But, yes a few 7 win seasons strung together would be nice. Settle for it? No, most of us are still dreamers.
  2. I don't want Campbell coming here, either, but we're lower than mediocre as it is now, and we've been below mediocre for years on end. Mediocre would be what, 7 wins per season? 8? And a toilet bowl game at the end of each season. Heck yeah.
  3. Micky Joseph with bling. It's okay, but we've already got Mickey Joseph.
  4. Fleeting thought I've had, too. But it gets replaced by thoughts of it being too soon in the season, and that this season should not be about recruiting, but about seeing what MJ can do with it.
  5. ^^ This. +1. Thanks. .. etc. But he may be the only one who'll come here.
  6. As we watch that process unfold my main question might stem from impatience as we suffer through another ill-trained team with limited talent in the Big Ten (watching the SEC Alabama at Tennessee game yesterday re-opened my eyes as to where we're not as an elite football program, and for how long we've not been there). And that questions is, how much longer until we're there? My guesses about that all hinge on recruiting and then development, and that takes a while. The guys coming back aren't it.
  7. I like Mickey Joseph's engagement during the game, and with the players, and that those players seem to buy into the coaching staff. But I do wonder if that staff can elevate the team over time to what we expect, playing level and recruiting. And if he can, just how much time? Another three or four years to age out the current players (transfer portal notwithstanding)? Next year (is that realistic)? And just how long would it take an Urban Meyer or other big or upcoming name to do the same thing?
  8. We drop passes at perfect times. Our D sux. Many of our players on O and D are just physically weaker than their opponents are. At least Purdue did not cover the spread. There's that.
  9. LOL Nebraska and their "Wait and see" defense.
  10. Both these teams look like they’re playin in slow motion after watching the Alabama Tennessee game,
  11. Hmmm… lemme ask her, she’s right here. .. I’ll get back to you, gotta ask her nice….
  12. Wow, four. Well six counting the quoted ones. This is meaningful and stuff.
  13. He's the expert on his players. So we can't really say we disagree with his decision. We can say we don't like it, though. Seems like it'd be demoralizing to the D leaders, the ones who really deserve that Blackshirt designation. Especially the seniors.
  14. I like every bit of that... doing my best with similar thoughts.
  15. I love all the pro-win posts for us in this game but.. but I have more doubts about this game than I had in the ones we've played so far.. and that seeps into doubts about my own confidence in Coach Mickey's words and insights and all that. I want to be wrong, of course. I honestly think we're going to get skunked real bad. They came within 4 points of Penn State. They beat Minnesota and Maryland on the road. They shutout a crappy Indiana State and scored 56 points doing so while our games against crappy teams were a loss and a satisfying win at home. We got wiped out by the Sooners who are getting no respect anymore amid bad losses. It's adding up to quite the challenge to see us being better than that two touchdown spread against us.
  16. I want the opposite of this prediction. Pray for the opposite! Out Manned And Out Coached Our Red Clad Boys: 19 What's Their Name Again? Something About Boils: 49 Our Land Attack: 171 Our Toss Attack: 228
  17. I changed it to Brew 102, used to see the brewery from the freeway ages ago.. long since gone.
  18. Not sure if this has been posted around here yet.. I'll take a chance: https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/matt-rhule-can-repair-nebraska-why-ex-panthers-coach-is-perfect-fit-to-resurrect-huskers-program/
  19. To me that became clear last year. The renegotiation of the contract was a gift to him but the fans and team suffered through games we should have won this year. Is it over stating things to say we could be at 5 wins right now if Coach Mickey had the off season to prepare these guys? I’m not 100% sure, but leaning towards yes, it is fair to say that.
  20. Yeah I’m of the same mind about all this. The biggest hope I have as to the capabilities of the team and coaches is that maybe we should be looking at the possibilities as a strictly per game thing; that we have players and a staff that picks through each game and finds a way to win that particular game, rather than trying to handicap the season. Coach Mickey is showing us something. That guy really is wringing out as much as he can each game, and it seems to be showing deep into the second half mostly.
