His recruiting is the best of any coach since Osborne as far as average ranking over a four year period. Different athletic departments and athletic directors and the last one was 7 years and much higher expectations ago.

We can have more than 3 or 4 losses without B.S. excuses. An entire season is its own entity that is more than the aggregated sum of all the individual games. This is where we often get disappointed as fans because we only look at it in terms of single game units instead of one large thing, which can drastically change based off of very difficult to quantify elements. Also, please never say 'Restore The Order' again lol

Don't think we've ever seen a team sport athlete with the same ability to just decide on something and then inflict it at will.

College athletics has always been a bidding war. It used to be a bidding war, and it still is a bidding war, in which players are more free and able to do better for themselves. Saying that someone is over-estimating something doesn't mean that you don't think that something exists at all...

How much is that an actual problem? I mean, athletic departments are raking in so much cash that they have to currently feed back into luxury amenities for players in order to maintain the perception that they aren't exploiting them. So, if some of that money starts going towards the athletes, and out of the hands of the corporations, and is beneficial to biggest schools with the biggest budgets already in a meritocratic way as far as more players going to them, seems like nothing will really change.

I already disagree with you two sentences in... you sure about that? Tell that to Pedersen and Eichorst and pretty much any AD who's job remains safe because they got lucky with the right guy for football or basketball. I don't think he's puffing out his chest. What do you expect the Iowa State Athletic Director to say? It's his job to create a positive narrative for his school - you think he should have said something more like, "Even though they're way better than us and way bigger than us and we're just lucky to be in the same breadth and wow I'm so lucky because we suck and Nebraska is a blue blood and please may I have some more porridge sir?" Nice that you keep changing the amount of years in your argument to 'move the goalposts'. Keep trying really hard, definitely is a sign of a top program who has and demands respect.

Basketball and football are the flagship programs of any school that is good at them. ISU football is significantly better than NU over the last few years, and ISU basketball is significantly better than NU over the last few years. That's ok, they've had a great run and we've had a bad one. It happens.

I might be able to bench 185 like 5 times. I've never tried - I'm somewhat strong just from physique and labor but never weight trained. I don't think so, personally. Two years ago when we traveled to Colorado we had ridiculous preseason hype and were ranked - the excitement by our fanbase was strong with the prodigal son savior returning and poised to take a big leap forward. If we continue to have losing through 6-7 win seasons for another decade, the fanbase loyalty will proportionately dwindle. The sellout streak is already in dire jeopardy right now.

This is 100% true of eye witness citizen accounts. This report will at the very least be interesting because many of the phenomena being addressed were encountered by the military, and not just seen but measured/recorded with sensors on their planes and such.
