  1. Pretty sure they're referencing the time zone.
  2. This is a gross oversimplification that is way, way, way too generous to the Democrats, who aren't equally as corrupted and self-serving as the right wing leaders, but are still plenty poisonous in their own regards.
  3. Yards are certainly affected by field position. Would we still have been the #22 offense if we had a #25 punt return team?
  4. I'd like any links regarding actual rumors from actual sources about kicking out teams, currently and also in 2020 regarding Nebraska.
  5. Probably a Sascha Baron Cohen troll
  6. This same system exists to make celebrities as well. It's how Candace Owens and Dave Rubin suddenly became conservative thought leaders - people who have made an industry out of this thing approached them and promised money and success and support and infrastructure if they all the sudden start playing a character.
  7. I'm in the same boat. If Trump runs and is the nominee, I will vote for whichever Democrat will get the vote. Outside of that, probably won't vote.
  8. Came to say the same thing. But we shouldn't let the facts get in the way of the narrative.
  9. Finding cheap parking anywhere in Chicago is not hard if you're willing to walk even just a few blocks. The last three months i lived there I had a full-time freelance placement working at Wilson Sporting Goods downtown across the street from the bean and I parked for $8 every day. Never paid more than $10-15 max for an event or a night doing anything unless a friend had cash to burn and was unwilling to walk three blocks.
  10. And also not ticket her until such a rewording of the law takes place.
  11. I don't think we're misinterpreting your incessant self aggrandizing back-patting. Teacher of the Year?!??!
  12. Whoever said Bernie would be as bad as Hillary is absolutely out of touch with reality. While he's not an ideal candidate and maybe not even a good one, he's lightyears better of a candidate than Hillary would be. Not equatable in the slightest bit.
  13. Yesterday was rough. I was 9 years old when Columbine happened, so mass shootings have been a part of my entire life developmentally. As someone that lived in Chicago for four years and has a lot of friends in the northern suburbs, yesterday was the first time I've ever had to text friends to make sure they're safe and okay because of a mass shooting. Makes me absolutely queasy.
  14. FYI recruiting ability isn't correlated at all to coaching ability. If anything there's more of an argument that we've had coaches on staff who have punched above their weight recruiting wise but couldn't do s#!t to actually coach. It's exceptionally rare to find coaches who can do both.
  15. Oh look, if it isn't exactly what we knew it would be: https://www.npr.org/2022/07/03/1109613520/alabama-abortion-rights-gender-affirming-care-law
  16. I feel pretty much the same. It's probably murder, or something close to it, and I think we should be allowed to do it.
  17. Starting to feel like 24 is the B1G's ultimate end goal. Could work, four pods of 6 teams, you play your 5 plus another pods 6 in an 11-game conference schedule. Possible to play everyone in a three year cycle.
  18. Yes the Democrats are generally opposed to people who are financially motivated to have us keep destroying our planet more and faster than we need to, you are right about that.
  19. "Families sue Ohio school board over critical race theory ban" isn't the hilarious implication you think it is.
  20. Probably would say or at least secretly believe that if the 10 year old rape victim wants an abortion so bad she should just move to Indiana or Illinois instead of Ohio. What's the big deal????
  21. The amount that Notre Dame would bring in FAR exceeds the amount that Stanford would take away.
  22. College football died when the Supreme Court ruled that the NCAA couldn't stop schools/conferences from negotiating their own media deals.
  23. How is a 35 year straight history of playing each other not a historic rivalry?
  24. Nobody cares about people showing up for a chemistry test or a football game. It's about money, which in terms of sports is based off of TV/media packages. But news flash to whatever dips#!t wrote that...academic grants bring in way more money than even the $100 million+ we might all be getting yearly with our new super conference. Texas started this. Either in 2010 or in 1995 depending on how you look at it. Honestly, I'm glad to be safe in all of this but I'm also just...wildly bummed out. College football is dead. I'll keep watching, because I'm an addict with stockholm syndrome, but all of the things that made me love the sport outside of my fandom for my team are gone. 100+ year rivalries, regional fraternity and brotherhood and animosity, familiarity with your yearly enemies, etc. All of that doesn't even start to explain how bad I feel for non revenue student athletes. UCLAs press release had some bulls#!t about helping their student athletes...piss off. Yeah your women's soccer players are really going to be served so well having to fly to New Jersey and then Michigan during the school week one week then Pennsylvania and Ohio the next.
