  1. I wasn't excited when Scott arrived. I grew more enthusiastic over time as I said that I'd support our coach. Now I'm about the same today. Not particularly excited due to underlying limiting issues. That might change in the coming weeks depending on the team's performance. I'm encouraged with Mickey leading the team.
  2. It’s all about the central issue of negligence whatsoever the causes for it are.
  3. Thanks! Hopefully we’ve learned some lessons. It seems that we might have by some indications. I know too that the powers that be like to meddle and prod unrelentingly. I do feel better about Trev Alberts than Stevie and the energy bus guys. Lol My estimation is that Moos was a hired to carrying out marching orders. At least with respect to Frost.
  4. I have reservations on Campbell as well. Ultimately, the decision will be made through Alberts. The media would conveniently determine his fate if the selection doesn’t work. Nothing I say is going to determine who’s enlisted to represent the program. I hope that it’s a great fit and that we get back to football being much more enjoyable. I’m remaining confident that good choices can be made and that we can again enjoy a great deal of success!
  5. I respect that you have an opinion. I’m not going to argue with you. I’ve upvoted every post with Meyer in a list. We’re all passionate fans wanting a solution and to back to winning again! I’ll hold firm that he isn’t the single option and, that others are better suited to represent our interests in the long term.
  6. I’m sure that there’s at least some truth to it. A dog chasing it’s own tail doesn’t make any sense either. Money talks. It creates problems then attempts to get rid of them, to make them go away. People don’t like parting ways with what they’ve made investments in financially and emotionally or, to acknowledge an error was made. Scott was simply in over his head. He probably succumbed to some pressures involving those in the circle that he associated with. He was accustomed to cutting softer wood so to speak then after arriving here things were substantially more tough. He was overwhelmed and didn’t have enough answers to overcome various hurdles. It’s evident that we’ve made a number of mistakes with respect to coaching hires. Is there something broken at Nebraska? Perhaps it has something to do with influential involved in decision making processes? It’s not just the athletic directors that we like to tear apart. That’s just my perspective. People had better take a good hard look at how they’re operating is adversely effecting what’s in our interest. We have got to get this one right. We’re all passionate about the team we love. And, we all have our differing opinions. That’s all right! I don’t hate Scott. I am awfully disappointed though. I’m sick the mess that’s been going on for most of 20 years. This could be it. Really. There’s no accountability. We just keep doing the same types of things experiencing similar things over and over again. Recently there was one common factor in the equation. That was Scott Frost. The other constant has been the steady, ongoing influences of those in positions of power. Chasing bad money with good money doesn’t register. It stinks.
  7. That Chinander needs to be convinced is an issue. All the more reason why he shouldn't have been coordinator. Hopefully they can somehow elevate the level of effectiveness as we direly need to.
  8. I wouldn't blame him! You have other more appealing options that I prefer over Meyer.
  9. I have reservations on Campbell as well. I think there's a lot of relevance to your perspective. Cause for pause.
  10. He could've addressed his perspective to his coaches. Maybe he did. There can be a discussion about it. The public statement isn't necessary or helpful though. Like Mickey said, that's not quite right given his observations. Winning would certainly foster having a winning culture however...
  11. Absolutely correct! It's not about you, not me, not Scott Frost, not anyone. I'll go easy on the enabling part. Scott certainly was given plenty of opportunity and support. It's about doing the things necessary to being successful including showing up on time and all of the other ways one conducts themselves in a constructive, professional manner. Accountability isn't about being mean or hurtful. It's about the interest of the organization and what it represents.
  12. You've got to show up to work on time and exhibit energy and enthusiasm. Knowing what one wants to accomplish and doing what's necessary to achieve achieve it go hand and hand. Attention to detail, everything matters. If it's a priority to a person, they make it happen.
  13. I might reconsider on Urban Meyer if Suh is somehow on staff too to keep him in line. Throw in a little Deion Sanders for good measure, and we're set!
  14. Mark Stoops for me. He’s a long shot. Agree on there being a single thread.
  15. Learning takes repetition, the experience of it over and over. Different scenarios. Experiencing other scenarios, forgetting then experiencing them again. Over time the brain changes along with muscle behavior. Without experiencing in practice, the learning occurs only on the field. That puts players at a terrible, unfortunate disadvantage. It goes along with a mindset of playing not to lose. There are risks playing to win but ultimately it comes down to practicing to win otherwise the results usually aren’t what you desired. Put away the fear of failure and be rewarded through winning!
  16. The romper room days are over. There’s going to be intensity and real attention to detail. Striving for excellence!
  17. My dad suffered Parkinson’s for many years. It’s a nasty debilitating disease. I was not aware of Richt having it either.
  18. No no no! This was a particularly vicious verbal altercation between EC and Scott. Trev heard all the commotion going on. Went to see what was going on. It was discovered that Scott had sprinted to hide in a closet then refused to come out! (Ha)
  19. We’re in good hands. Mickey will do everything in his power representative of the team’s success!
  20. 2-3 years I think given deficiencies successfully addressed. A winning record and bowl eligible. Type of system and other such variables affecting it to some degree.
  21. When preparation meets opportunity one is proven "good enough". I'm not convinced that there are only a very select few that can experience success here. They just have to be identified and installed!
  22. Right now I think that we have an identity of a program that "once was" a number of things that we were and it doesn't translate into a mindset that we need to have now. Tradition, accomplishments, what we were known for, etc. In a way, it's a hindrance. These are hard times where we need to reestablish ourselves. It's a story that doesn't match with a different time. We can't just say, we're going to be respected, we've got a history and somehow that makes us relevant. We have to make history again in anew, with it's own unique characteristics that grows out of our own accomplishments in this point in time through having a cause all our own. In THIS moment. The next guy that comes onboard needs to convey that this is going to be hard, it's going to be challenging. And then do everything he can to help his players be the very best that they can be on a continuum. The identity evolves out of that. It starts with having control over what we can. Playing disciplined with a minimum of errors. Not beating ourselves. Being accountable to each other and really caring for each other genuinely interested. With this comes the necessity of having a fighter's mind knowing that you'll get knocked around and not letting it being a deterrent. An underdog's mentality. Infinite determination. Keep coming back when hit and improving on achievements over and over again absent an end. A really good identity isn't easy to define. It's numerous drops of characteristics combined together creating something that one recognizes as being remarkable. Walk into Memorial Stadium with an acknowledgement that all this and everything that was realized required commitment and a stout dose of resolve.
  23. I don't underestimate what Mickey might do. There'll be conversations about possible adjustments that could be made in a collaborative, respectful way. That's likely to be true across the board. He'll do whatever he can do to get the most out of his staff and players to achieve the objective of winning.
  24. I’m sorry. We do have a good OC currently! I wasn’t clear. What I intended to suggest is that Mr. Grimes meets a number of criteria (In my opinion) to potentially be considered for head coach were he interested in the position.
