  1. Are you kidding me? That show rocks! I don't watch very much TV (except college football) I do watch this show. Last season was great and the format has changed some this year. Last year, Mayhem would go meet the bully.... wherever and basically supprise them. It was great. This year they have already taken care of all that and that part of the show is pretty much gone. But the basic concept is awesome and the fighters are really top notch fighters. I mean REALLY good. Last week Arlovski was the fighter. He was the heavy weight champion of the UFC at one time. And is is certainly still in his prime. He put a beating on that bully that hurt to watch.... It was great. Some of these bullies are unbelievable in what they have done to these victums.... they deserve the humbling experience.. I reccomend this show to everyone.. it is the best concept I've seen in years.
  2. Just a guess...but I bet you own 1 of everything from the Super market check out lines. You seem to think snap decisions are OK. Actually, I think he was just expressing concern or curiosity in a civil manner. No call to be snarky. Snarky....... what a great word!!!
  3. I've been saying this for quite a while now. This was the first game that the game/time management really bit us in the *ss. Our staff is very young, but I hope they get to a point where they become much better at this or we will always struggle to win the big games. As far as building depth.... I like what is being done there. We are making progress there. All except the linebacker situation. I think we should play more kids than we do. There is an issue with one backer tackling and being physical at the point of contact. If that doesn't change, I think we should give another player a shot. I wouldn't stick with a kid for any other reason except performance.
  4. O'Hanlon made the team as an uninvited walk-on in 2005 and last year he started nine games and rank third on the team in tackles. His pass breakup against C.J. Spiller of Clemson helped save the Huskers' Gator Bowl win. This year, O'Hanlon's 15 tackles rank third on the team. He's forced a fumble and intercepted a pass. And his sack of Taylor for an 8-yard loss on the play immediately after the 81-yard pass put the Huskers back in position to win. I'd take this kid on my team anyday!
  5. I sure hope so. I'm excited about the visitors this weekend!
  6. I would say, no he isn't. He is very emotional, just like most of us, and needed to collect his thoughts. I'm sure he was a shocked as the rest of us. I know I would need the time to settle down. There was no intention of shunning anyone. He will get better at this, better than I would.
  7. I'm not even going to read all this crap.... sorry if it offends anyone. But, this kid, at times, is one of the fastest players we have. He plays with more heart than most of us have. He made a mistake and it was off of a defensive call made by a 1st year starter that has had issues communicating. Other than that one play, the DB's played the best game I've seen in years. The defensive scheme seemed to be... the d line was not to get overly agressive because that QB can run. That left the DB's out on a limb all day. I'd say, for the most part, they handled their business very well. The QB had allllllll day on MANY occasions. Our linebacker crew needs the most improvement imo. There were missed tackles by one of them and that has been an issue with him all year or he arm tackles and get drug 3 yards (consistently). Thank god for Dillard! There are alot of things that can contribute to this. This is not an excuse, just food for thought. Watch the film again (the whole game), I think you will see the DB's did a very good job, for the most of the game. NOBODY was chastizing #33 when he saved the bowl game for us???? I'm as frustrated as I can remember, but, I'm sure not going to throw this kid under the bus. When I read the title of this thread, my only thought was WTH.......
  8. I was thinking the same thing durring the game. I was also thinking... why do we burn all of our timeouts on the crap we do and not review a TD play. Time management and game managment have to get better. Bo threw his headset before the game was even over. And correct me if im wrong but wasn't there 18 sec left and we had the illegal proceedure pentaly and then we had 12 sec left. Doesn't that penalty mean the play didn't take place? The time wasn't put back on and nobody talked about it.. maybe i'm wrong on that one.
  9. This team is very young, the coching staff is very young and when we have been put on the spot..... most of the time this handicaps us... I hope I'm wrong but id have to say 8-4 or 9-3.
  10. dont you have to actually hit them to have a hit list..... Good point, ask Cody Hawkins.........
  11. I haven't heard about this guy, but that may be the best name I have ever heard.
  12. this was the first game that I thought Bo's inexperience and game managemnt proplems showed up big. we need a few time outs at the end of every quarter
  13. Wasn't Dillard 350lbs and running a 4.5 out of highschool.... I think he was anyway. I hope he is back on track. He was an absolute animal until he was Cozzed out.
  14. Bo said, There are visitors this weekend, just not official visitors.
  15. no big suprise here. He didn't sound to solid the day he committed. Infact I think he only committed in an effort to get more attention from other schools. I wasn't real pumped about him in the beginning.
  16. I'll go with Paul, because he will have more chances. Kickoff return, WR and poss punt return. He is faster and aparently, by far and away, the number one reciever up to this point. We'll see.....
  17. Oh, I'm perfectly ok with it biting them, chewing them up and spitting them out.
  18. You said what I was thinking. "Turning point" I know it's painfull and hard to believe but take a look and the dismal Calacloz years.... Even though we are not where we want to be, I'd take last year over the dark days. There has deffinately been a turn around. Again, I think and expect us to get better but I don't feel like we are giving up and laying down. You have to start somewhere and it has begun. The future is looking bright.
  19. If we end up with a class of kids who aren't afraid of competition or hard work, is that such a bad thing? I know everyone is worked up about star ratings and who we beat out for this recruit or that recruit, but waiting to see how this approach manifests itself on the field in 2-3 years makes sense to me. It wouldn't be bad. But "effort kids" aren't going to be able to beat OU and Texas. I agree Adam Carriker was a 3 star and I think Jared Tomich was a walk on..... they could certainly compete. All 5 stars do not pan out but some no-stars or low stars do pan out. I think with the right attitude and work ethic these kids all have a chance to better themselves and compete. Nebraska has had MANY players that were ranked low and turned out to be unforgettable. It's just a wait and see game. Personally, I love to see kids go to programs they have spent their lives dreaming about. The motivation, desire and perseverance can't get any better than that.
  20. I was shocked to hear it, but ive watched him on film and he can certainly burn it up.
  21. One would think a medical professional would know it's HIPAA, not "HIPPA." It stands for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Aside from that I agree that it's likely not illegal for this discussion. It may not be the most moral thing to do, but then again, if Burkes himself came out with the info it is no longer protected in any way by HIPAA. HIPPA, HIPAA, whatever. I deal with so many abbreviations and acronyms every day I had made the dreaded two P's instead of two A's mistake. Let's try these abbreviations/acronyms, ASA, apap, po, prn, HCTZ, WPS, DMEPOS, qd, bid, qid, tid, qpm, qhs, etc, etc. I just wanted to let people know that telling people about someone else's medical problem that came from the horse's mouth isn't in violation of the person's medical privacy necessarily. That is true, but it is still a very touchy gray line to be walking on.
  22. Word: Missile Next person: Kenny Walker word: Insiration Next person: Danny Noonan
  23. I'm not sure where to find the stats, but I was watching something and the anouncer said Dan Alexander ran the fastes 40 of all Husker backs? I'd love to verify that if possible. There was a question posed durring the game/program or whatever: What running back recorded the fastest 40 yrd dash for Nebraska? I was shocked to hear them say... "I doubt many got this one right, even the hard core husker fans, It was Dan Alexander" or something very close to that. Can anyone find these stats?
  24. what it takes???? You just have to have 2 legs, 2 arms and a heartbeat!
