  1. I want Chris Pedersen. He'd come for $7M a year. If our administration isn't willing to pay that they should be fired.
  2. Not only is it possible I'm incredibly worried it's more than possible. Don't get me wrong, everything I've seen and heard from the guy since he got here says he's going to be great. He absolutely looks great at practice and my eyes tell me he's a future NFL starter calliber QB. But that strangely has me worried now after reading Tulane articles and board posts. What has me worried is reading The Tulane board threads on Tanner when he was still playing for them. The gist of much of the Tanner Lee talk was that he was nicknamed practice Tom Brady by coaches and all the media, analysts etc. that watched him practice would rave about him.. then he'd take the field in games and force balls into impossible wimdows and apparently all the poise and confidence he shows all week evaporates in games turning him into a pick-6 machine. Many of those were posts before there was a hint of him leavimg so they aren't jilted loser syndrome thoughts either. Now, his line sucked (it was legitimately the worst line in D1 imo) and his coaching staff was terrible ( even stauch Wave supporters say it was a highschool quality offensive coaching staff when it came to QB development.) So hopefully that is the primary reason for the disparity Lee has shown between practice and game performance at Tulane. God I hope so.
  3. CSU is pretty good this year, expecially on offense... but not THAT good. Some stats from the OSU board... The 58 points scored by CSU is the most points Oregon State has given up against a non P5 school - ever. It is the most points scored on them since 2005 by 11th ranked Louisville and the most by an ooc opponent since Texas scored 61 in 1987. Mike Riley coached 173 games at Oregon State and gave up 52 points or more 6 times. Gary Andersen has coached Oregon State in 25 games and has given up 52 points or more 5 times. The problem for OSU is they didn't hire the Gary Andersen that was winning 10 games at Wisconsin - that Gary Andersen was forced by his AD to run someone elses playbook with someone elses type of players. OSU hired the Gary Andersen that decided to start a WR named Tanner McEvoy at QB over Joel Stave and then proceed to throw the ball all over the field when he had Melvin Gordon and Corey Clemment in his backfield. (Remember the LSU game where McEvoy threw for 50 yards and had 2 bad picks and yet a healthy Melvin Gordon had 3 carries in the entire 2nd half even though LSU struggled to stop him in the first half? Wisconsin had no buisness losing that game but they did because Andersen was so intent on proving his system would work. That game is Gary Andersen in a nutshell.)
  4. That is a good point. It was mentioned in the article. That is a good point. It was mentioned in the article. Dang it! I never read the entire thing...just the clip you put up. As I said, he skimmed over it: "It does bear mentioning that the offense, and therefore the team as a whole, became much more scattershot late, when the schedule improved and quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. dealt with injury." He even goes on to say, "But it wont be a surprise if either four-star youngster redshirt freshman Patrick OBrien or true freshman Tristan Gebbia takes over the top spot before or during the season." But never says the offense might be better because a QB injury won't derail the offense. That's what I'm saying. It wasn't just Armstrong though. Our #1 WR, #1 TE and 2 top OL also missed significant time or in the case of Gates were incredibly limited due to injury. Of what I would have called our top 8 key offensive players last year only Newby (who would be around 5th on the list) were generally healthy for the meaty part of the schedule. Losing Westy and CC in particular killed the Offense last season, moreso even than having a gimpy Tommy. The entire offensive strategy to minimze the QB weaknesses we had with Tommy and Ryker were based on the formation and read calls for Westercamp and Carter.
  5. Big flaw here is the list claims to be about Stadium arrests and ejections but then pulls it's data (At least for Nebraska and possibly some but likely not every other team) from a source who's tally includes virtually every incident on campus on gameday. Whether the incident was in the stadium or by the loop outside East Union
  6. Phil Steele also picked Oregon as his suprise breakout team... for LAST season. How did that work out? He had some hits with Miami, Washington and Louisville.. but well duh. He also had Iowa, Ole Miss, Baylor, TCU and Miami as breakout teams last season. He also said the Pac 12 wouldn't make the cfb playoffs because both Alabama and LSU would get in jumping the P12 champ.
  7. He's a minor so he's not going to be named any where but... yeah. https://www.google.com/amp/www.pe.com/2017/04/18/cal-baptist-university-in-riverside-on-lockdown-while-police-search-for-robbery-suspects/amp/#ampshare=https://scng-dash.digitalfirstmedia.com/2017/04/18/cal-baptist-university-in-riverside-on-lockdown-while-police-search-for-robbery-suspects/
  8. As of right now Alabama has beaten zero teams with fewer than 3 losses. Only 3 teams that Bama has played have fewer than 4 losses. Those three teams are: USC - who started Max Browne at QB against Bama instead of Sam Darnald. Western Kentucky Chatanooga. That is a tissue paper schedule and they even struggled in a couple of those games. They aren't close to '95 Nebraska and not even 2 wins against a couple 1 loss teams in the playoffs will change that. - Nebraska utterly destroyed 4 such 1 loss teams in '95.
  9. No. His defensive scheme last year was an abomination. This year's is significantly better but still nothing great. We've benefited from playing a lot of terrible offenses. The only two good offenses we've played this year we had trouble stopping (Oregon, without their best offensive player for most of the game) or literally couldn't stop at all (Ohio St.). So I'm not a Banker fan. Although the reason I bring that up - and why it's in this thread - is because I think Bray is going to start getting calls and we may have to find a way to get him a promotion to keep him. Probably not this year but it's not going to be long. And I think losing him would be bad - worth shipping Banker out to keep him. Banker isn't going anywhere this year, and if the time comes to replace him someday you do so by hiring a great, proven DC. Not a position coach you are afraid to lose. Your entire thought about Bray is verbatum what people said about Papuchis at one point. How did that work out? And that was with a defensive minded head coach. You seriously think firing Banker and handing the D over to a guy who has never called plays is a good plan when Riley is all offense at this stage of his career? I don't particularly want Bray moving on but if he does then the way you replace him is with another stud linebacker coach not by putting him in a position he likely is not ready for - expecially at a program like Nebraska. So tired of people wringing their hands and worrying if people are going to leave someday like this isn't f'n Nebraska. A big problem the past decade plus is for some dumb reason we started making decisions that make the program weaker in fear of losing talent. If good talent leaves it sucks , but you man the F up and treat it as an opportunity to upgrade and get stronger.
  10. 2015 Iowa, 2007 Kansas and 2007 Missouri say hi.
  11. Depends on how many need two. Ohio State needs two lockerrooms because their practice facilities are not close to the stadium. Nebraska does not have that problem. All of the practice facilities are 20 feet from the Stadium. In fact the team can literally walk from the lockerroom to the main indoor practice field in about 45 seconds without having to even go outside.
  12. I love FSU's Boise looks like a tacky 1980's casino. Oregon looks like a shopping mall. A&M looks like a bowling alley. Clemson looks like an old videogame arcade. Miami... how are they on this list over lockerrooms like Texas, Michigan or Oklahoma?
  13. I get the sense that the Michigan visit is simply a time filler/ cash saver for him and his dad on their trip to go to the Lions game on Sunday.
  14. Hate being negative but it has to be said. Bruce Read will probably cost us a game at some point this year that we have no reason otherwise to lose. He is so bad.
  15. Interesting. So being responsible for shaping/leading young men in athletics and college is irrelevant as long as the football program is successful? Do you believe that the leadership in the football program should have certain moral convictions having the responsibility they have? One does not have to be religious or believe in a higher being to show leadership, moral convictions, responsibility and lead men. One can have "faith in their abilities" and be successful without believing in god. I do not know Mike Riley's beliefs, and honestly I don't need to. Success in my book is not just winning but mentoring young men and setting a good example for them, for our state etc. Riley has proven he is fit for this job, regardless of where he goes or doesn't go to worship on Sunday. So where does one develop and acquire moral convictions? Where does one acquire the discipline to adhere to these moral convictions and furthermore go out into the world and demonstrate them before others? The second you (as in the religion) say "God is Good" you are stating that morality and God are seperate and that morality is above God.
  16. I have never been to Pullman, how does it compare to a place like Lincoln as far as being a college town? Pullman is in what is called the Polouse part of Washington it is ag country. They grow wheat on steep hills. Pullman is only about 35K people. The closest city is Spokane and it really isn't that big. It is probably oneo of the smallest college towns there is for a Power 5 team to be in. So basically Wazzu is a power 5 WNCC The entire city covers about 10 sq. Miles - so basically 9x smaller than Lincoln. Pullman as a whole has one highschool and shares a regional airport with Moscow, Idaho. Or; about half the size of Manhattan,KS.

  18. Stanley Morgan is quickly on the rise to being an absolute superstar and will have a shot at being the best NU wideout ever before he's done.
  19. A huge part of what makes the offense we put together for this season work completely dies without Cethan Carter but there is enough grit and drive in these guys to survive nearly anything. Oh and DL is still a boss.
  20. Did anyone besides me at the Oregon game notice the Duck fans wearing jerseys? I saw one decent one with a diamond plate pattern on the shoulder... The rest looked like they were made of that plastic looking crap halloween costumes are made of. No thanks.
  21. Second time I recall the entire stadium cheering a penalty called against NU.
  22. That wasn't the only time either. I can totally see why their fan base would be upset. I was laughing out loud at what they were doing at times. Deciding to only go for two point conversions the entire game may have been one of the dumbest coaching decisions I've ever witnessed. After the first one (that worked) I laughed and said that's not football. After the third one I said Oregon is a 12 year old playing playstation. You can do that against the ai but try that against another player and you lose. Oregon fans behind me were not happy.
  23. One of the best games I've witnessed. Not quite electricity of Miami or the dance party of Michigan State but those were night games and we weren't nearly as exhausted at the end of those... Maybe the 2nd best day game atmosphere ever behind OU in 01 for me personally. Basically a 3.5 hour gutwrenching rollercoaster ride under an unwaveringly brutal sun.
