  1. Like i said, we dont know the vibe the coaches are getting. What people say on social media and to you are not the same. One of the most frustrating things about recruiting is you only have one half of the story. Oftentimes that is skewed by a journalist needing a story.
  2. Another thing to consider is we dont know the vibe the coaches are getting from recruits. He may be giving a vibe that he isnt all that interested and just wants to use the trip to hang out with other recruits. By pushing it back the staff can get a better feel of his intentions. The cap is just an easy excuse.
  3. So what i am gathering from this thread is the fans need to stfu so the coaches can develop continuity and an identity. I mean their system has been in place for around 30 years now.
  4. dpe was coming off an injury, didnt have his usual confidence. ozigbo is a riley recruit. have been short-handed in the receiving corps under riley, but that is probably more due to riley wanting more receivers. and both the freshman center and rt are backups to upperclassmen. not sure the point of this post but at some point you have to just move on.
  5. cotton for the last year, every other year solich was the OC. mcbride, bohl and pelini were his dc's.
  6. that nebraska really doesnt have anyone, other than stanley morgan, at receiver who can make a play when given the opportunity.
  7. Did Langsdorf do a post-game interview? Did any of the reporters bother to ask him why he wasn't working the clock at the end of the game? So many more things game related to write about. and to be fair, i didnt get to watch the end of the game last night. watching it now and hoping i dvr'ed enough of the following program.
  8. Why exactly is this a bad thing? Usually everyone complains about the coachspeak answers they give. Without reading the article, the title makes Shatel sound as if he is entitled. Did he write anything about the positives that came out of the game? Why not write about the game itself, why make up a controversy where there doesn't need to be one? Nebraska just played a game where 11 defensive starters were playing in an entirely different scheme, of course there were going to be growing pains. Now Diaco, and crew, have game footage to take to practice and make adjustments.
  9. doesnt ASU have a guy on the verge of becoming the all time sack leader in college football? and werent they near the top of cfb in tfl's?
  10. When does the whining end and the objectivity resume?

When we start beating teams 3256 to 3.  Until then, we are HORRIBLE and should just play intramurals.

Problem is some posters don't have objectivity. Anything less than an overtly dominating performance gives them all the ammo they need to feed their preconceived notions. Some will pull it back it a bit, others (who have been opposed to Riley from the beginning or those who were happy with 9 meaningless wins) won't. It's pretty craptastic.

  11. given that most kids these days are committing to a coach and not a program, wouldnt it be logical to assume that they committed to both coaches? why does it matter who recruited them since riley is the one that has been coaching them? someone could easily make the counter argument that riley's staff has coached them up making them better than they were coming into the program. better question, why are we dwelling on the past when the future is staring us right in the face on saturday?
  12. pen and paper, typewriter or even you keyboard.
  13. First tuesday in february would be my guess.
  14. Excluding penn st your other two examples have been coaching lineman the same way and running basically the same offensive system for 15 plus years. And if memory serves me right penn st's oline hasnt been anything to write home about.
  15. mental note, be sure to add kendrick lamar comments to every thread once season starts.
  16. possibly the change in scheme. diaco might not have watched his film to see if or where he'd fit. but that's just me throwing out uninformed ideas, that lead to my question. is he a DE or OLB in the 3-4?
  17. Don't mean to be that guy, but he shot 14 percent form 3 and 40 percent from the line in 2017. He had way better stats the year before but still only 30 percent from deep. Gonna need to work on shooting as he can attack the basket well. Agree with the adjustment to the right hand as he loves to use his left. http://www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fa/player/p/pid/122080/pid2//sid/12929/tid/300/tid2//_/2017_FIBA_U20_European_Championship_Division_A/index.html Well, sh#t. That's what you get when you don't get fresh film and go by highlights!! That's why college coaches ask for game tape, lol. He won't be able to get to the cup like that here without both hands and if he really shoots it like that, I guess I don't get it. Plus, I question his defense. Not quick laterally and got lucky on every steal. The passes were awful. I assume we are going to redshirt him this year, so I would continue to tell him to take it to the hoop. He is good at that and it will take him time to adjust to getting to the cup at the D1 level. Then you get him shooting from specific three point spots and his outside shooting improves. Once he gets adjusted like Webster did I think he will be fine, but we need to get him adjusted faster than Tai did. Defense needs work so hopefully we make him a better defender and once he is comfortable, he will be faster and quicker in games. The speed of the game is gonna be a little too much for him in my opinion so a redshirt year is likely. There is no doubt he redshirts, I do have serious doubts he ever really contributes. He doesn't look like he would be a great high school player here in Omaha, to be honest. I would guess he was signed for practice reasons. that is not how you build a team. that is what walk-ons are for.
  18. what we really need to be talking about is if he is eating foods that people in florida usually eat or is he eating the type of cuisine found in nebraska. that will be most telling. and why dont we have updates on what he had for lunch? do i need a sarcasm emoji or can we all tell?
  19. probably replaced jones on the roster, who is still listed on the 105 man roster.
  20. kind of weird he doesn't have anything plugged in or that his desk is nowhere near the outlet and data jack. it also looks like the room he is in is being remodeled given the bare concrete floor and lack of baseboard. i'd say this pic was taken as a joke for the sole reason to post this tweet.
  21. Transferring for his senior year. He has been sort of a basketcase for ISUr, law troubles and other issues.
  22. It kind of does. Otherwise positive reinforcement would be pointless.
  23. I still say if you are going to take a kansas school that doesnt have a football program take the one with the better basketball team down in wichita. in what bizarre world does Wichita St. have a better basketball program than KU? Surely not this one. Read my handle carefully. Then you'll understand.
  24. There is nothing binding once they go juco, placed or not. About the only thing that coach could do is limit access to him from other colleges. Unless there has been new rules passed but Mav keeps us up to date on those. And havent seen anything about it in the past 3 years.
