Good point, but most people are more mad they we haven't won a conference championship in so long not a national. OU won it last year with an OK team and was very close this year where as nebraska hasn't done it in 12. It's not fair to Pelini that he should have to feel the heat for other coaches failures but that's the reality here. If he would have won the big 12 last year or the year before no one would be calling for his head now.

Every seat in the stadium is a season ticket so as long as they sell out the first game the rest of the year is a sellout, same as most big stadiums.

It doesn't matter penn state is done for a long time, It will take years for them to recover from this both in recruiting and in finding coaches who are willing to take positions. It's a shame though, I was really expecting this to be a big rivalry.

Throw in Marlowe and why we can't recruit a QB and I'm with you. We can't recruit a QB because we are too critical on them as fans and media. We scare them. This isn't true, QB's are under just as much scrutiny in the sec, big 12, or wherever fans have expectations for their teams. Most athletes at this level have dreams of playing in the NFL anyway so if you can't handle Nebraska there's no way in hell you'll make it in the NFL. Martinez's problem is that he has no PR skills, he always comes off as cocky and dissinterested in the media so the fans only loved him because he won games. Once that went away he had nothing to fall back on and now the media/fans are eating him up. People were much more reluctant to rip into QB's like Joe Ganz and Zac Taylor because they seemed like genuinely nice guys off the field, neither of them really had that much more success than Martinez yet the fans stuck by them through thick and thin.

Remember when Florida lost to ole miss and Tebow came out practically crying to the media and swore he would do whatever was humanly possible to keep them from loosing another game....yeah Martinez is never going to do that so quit expecting him too, love him or hate him this is always the kind of press conference he's going to have.
