  1. It's not a matter of what we "need", it's a matter of what is wanted. Regardless, what does the statement in red have to do with the statement in black? Fair point with the "need" vs "want." On a side note, there was no intended meaning behind the statement in black and red. I just used the red text color because it's Nebraska's main color. Anyway, I do think you hit the nail on the head in this discussion. I will concede that many of today's younger generation "want" these alternate uniform games. My point is I just don't think we as a program, based on our tradition and history need to go to these kind of efforts. The only reason we have a great tradition is because we used to be innovative. We used to do things that no other teams could do. Facilities, walk-ons, strength training, etc. We have fallen behind a bit and we need to catch up so we don't end up becoming the school that was so stuck in the past that we wouldn't make simple changes to draw in recruits. I don't see why alt uniforms seem so sinister to so many Neb fans.
  2. Yeah maybe the 45 fumbles and 110 penalties are clouding my memory.
  3. This is what's been so frustrating with Pelini's teams of late. 2008 we saw major improvement throughout the year. 2009's D was in beast mode by seasons end. However, 2010 was a disaster late in the year. 2011 was almost identical. 2012 was a couple plays from going the same way, and pretty much did when you throw the championship/bowl games in there. We used to hear about the "process" all the time. Now we rarely hear it. Maybe the lack of "process" is cause for our lack of "execution"? Regardless, this team hasn't finished strong in years. Sorry to nitpick, but I wouldnt say 2010 was a disaster late. the offense went into the tank when the star got hurt, but, the defense play awesome down the stretch aside from one bad 1/2 quarter against OU in Dallas. I refuse to take note of the Holiday Bowl against Washington. That game was a joke, and there was not one player or coach that had half the necessary interest required to win that game. My comments could be found, but I expected a loss there from the moment it was announced. That game was nothing less than one last manipulated kick in the nuts from Beebe and the Big 12. So, aside from that game the end of 2010 wasnt nearly a disaster. It's just a shame the offense wound up revolving around one guy. We should be kicking ourselves for 2010. We should have been undefeated going into the game with OU. No ands ifs or buts. We beat aTm, the scoreboard just didnt show it. Texas? You f'ing kidding me??? We were up 17 to nothing on OU and if TMart doesn't throw that pick in the end zone we go up 20 to nothing. We should be kicking ourselves. I honestly still think that the 2010 team has been Bo's best fielded team thus far overall. No doubt about it. That team should have done great things. If only we had something that resembled an offense.
  4. I've been watching a lot of the games from last year and the thing that keeps sticking out with this secondary is the missed opportunities to get interceptions. There was so many times we had almost perfect coverage but wouldn't turn and look for the ball. We often would get called for PI because our db's were fighting with the receiver instead of turning and looking for the ball. They also need to work on timing their jump. SJB would be an All-American if he could figure out how to play the ball.
  5. 4/5 mile as in .8 of a mile? in that time? Abdullah? Well I took the number of rushing attempts he had last year and multiplied it by 7 seconds and that is how much time it came out to. At first I thought no way but, checked again and sure enough it came out to 26:36.
  6. Abdullah will run for 4/5 a mile in 26 minutes and 36 seconds.
  7. Which is what you will need to happen, unless the Huskers beat them in Ann Arbor which i don't see happening. meh
  8. Wow, Lincoln is going to look awesome. Can't wait to go visit for a football game this fall. I haven't been in the city in 4 years. Props to Knapp and everyone else who keep me and all the others who don't get a chance to ever see Lincoln updated.
  9. Back to the main topic. Who do you think sees the field more this year out out these four. Jordan Westerkamp, Alonzo Moore, Taariq Allen, and Tyler Wullenwaber? Assuming Allen and Wullenwaber come back healthy.
  10. Don't freak out. Abdullah spotted using crutches. :(

      Aaaah hell no!

  11. Based on his athleticism only I really want this kid. It's rare that you see kids with his speed in the state of Nebraska. I have yet to see his film but, if he can fly around the field like he does on the track he could be molded into a good football player. It helps that his dad played here.
  12. Honestly, I was not very impressed at all by his workout film. His front squat seems to be below average and his power clean was also sub par. Anyone else agree? Yes, I do agree. Unrelated but something funny I found at the 1:32-1:45 mark in that video. The two kids standing in the back appear to be mocking him.
  13. His highlight video was insane And that was only his junior highlights. I wonder how much more he has progressed since then.
  14. Does anyone ever consider that these football coaches we love to hate on are just humans? Anyone? No? Ok never mind.
  15. Just watched this for the first time. Wow, am I impressed. Not only are his highlights stellar, but his demeanor and attitude in that interview are great. Seems like a kid who wants to work and earn everything he gets. We could use a few more Kenny Bell, Abdullah, Burkhead, Imani Cross type of players.
  16. Gained a lot of respect for Bo and the entire staff after reading that article. The coaching staff puts in so much time and effort into their jobs. It must be grueling trying to balance all of that out and still be happy with your life. Nebraska is at such a disadvantage as far as location in recruiting. The coaches really have to bust their butt to make up for it.
  17. Camera man: Say cheese! Taylor: Cheese. Bo: Chee- Damn you Wisconsin.
  18. 5 years of watching his team fumble the dang ball every way imaginable will do that. Heck, it's probably taken a few years off of my life as well.
  19. Gtfo. Why was the Wisconsin player running down the field with his eyes closed? Kenny hit him from the front. Do you have to run down field with a yellow flag yelling I'm going to try and lay you out before you block someone now? Come on you are talking foolish.
  20. It's not recruiting that is the problem... It's that Bo Pelini doesn't know how to face a multiple offense. Ucla, Ohio State, Wisconsin 2.0. Period. He can't even defend an obvious jet sweep. Granted against Ucla and Wisconsin hardly showed their gameplan on film coming into the game but there was absolutely no in game adjustments until he put in Courtney Osborne in the game down 70 with 2:00 left in the game.
  21. I knew you would be proud. These things happen in games. Quit trying to make broad generalizations about teams. Wisconsin didn't throw a flag, the refs did. If the tables were turned I may have some of the same complaints you do now but I wouldn't condem your entire team and question its character. That just makes a person look bad. That's an answer I can respect Bucky. Well said. I am a wee bit cranky today my apologies.
