  1. The main reason, in my opinion, is every bowl game a B1G team is playing is virtually an away game. Capital One, Outback and Gator Bowls, all against an SEC team, are in Florida and in SEC territory. Rose Bowl, against Pac-12 team, is in California which is Pac-12 territory. Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, in Arizona, against Big 12 is fairly close to Big 12 territory. Meineke Car Care Bowl and Heart of Dallas Bowl, both in Texas, both against a Big 12 team. The only bowl that is in B1G territory is the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl but they pick last in bowl selection.
  2. Voted. She's currently in the lead and with the way Husker Nation votes, I look for her to stay there. GBR!!!
  3. Some game times are set before the season starts. Any game times that aren't set before the season starts will be set 12 days before the game. One weekend a season ABC/ESPN is allowed to exercise a 6 day option selection and they have exercised that option for the games on October 20, which is the Northwestern game for Nebraska. Any game time for the rest of the season will be announced 12 days before the game.
  4. Delaney said a couple of months ago that if the two teams playing each other agree to play at night in November then that's fine. Actually, he said if Nebraska wants to play a night game in November and their opponent agrees then the game can be played at night.
  5. Couldn't agree with you anymore on that statement. I hate when these TV networks post stupid stuff on twitter and facebook during negotiations. BTN also keeps saying Dish dropped BTN which isn't true. BTN pulled the feed from Dish. I don't have Dish, I have DirecTV, but I'm glad they are standing up for their customers and not willing to pay these overpriced networks to air their programming. It's getting out of hand.
  6. Purdue, Michigan and Michigan State all have contracts to play Notre Dame until at least 2020. For one of the schools its a play for two years then off for one and then play for two years and off for one, etc.
  7. Are you seriously complaining about a pregame show going to A&M? Some of you just love to complain about the dumbest things. And if you look at all the games this weekend then this game is just as important as any other game being played.
  8. This! BTN is pilling all on Dish but how about BTN lets us all know just how much they are wanting per subscriber and how much of an increase that is from the current contract they have signed with Dish. It's very shallow on their part and it really annoys me when these networks start bashing the MSO when they are trying to renegotiate a new contract. And I can guarantee it's not Dish that will be dropping BTN come September 1 if a new contract isn't signed. It's BTN pulling the channel from them. If BTN was true to their word they would allow Dish to keep the channel while negotiations are on going. Once they have stopped negotiating then you could pull the channel.
  9. I am happy that Dish is standing up for their customers. I've had it with these networks holding the viewer hostage and wanting higher fees for their networks. And then all those high fees are passed down to us. It's so annoying. Sports programming is getting out of hand with how high the fees these networks are paying to air programming and then in return the networks want/need higher fees per subscriber from the cable/satellite company and then those fees are passed to us. Rates keep going up and it's not getting any better anytime soon. So I say good for Dish standing up to BTN. And switching to another provider means the network(s) wins. Enough already.
  10. Errol Spence fights tomorrow. His losing decision was overturned, and rightfully so. Judging has been horrible.
  11. Dana White crap? What in the hell are you talking about??? This card is great if you think about all the injuries that have riddled this card. Aldo, Bisping, Big Nog, Bahadurzada, Akiyama, Thiago Alves, Thiago Silva,Claude Patrick all pulled out with injuries. I could be leaving one or two out. Plus, Shogun was fighting on this card but was moved to a couple weeks later to fight on the Fox card when Brian Stann went out with an injury in the main event.
  12. In my opinion, the SEC is by far the best conference and second place isn't even close. And I don't have all this hatred towards ESPN that some have. I just don't get it and honestly I don't care about it. People just love to hate on whatever or whomever is top dog. Just really annoying.
  13. It will be on BTN at either 11:00 or 2:30.
  14. Harvey isn't President of the University. He's the Chancellor.
  15. He just makes me sick and is such an embarrassment to the University of Nebraska. All these old dolts need to get 'out of bed' with these bowls. So a playoff will destroy the 'long standing history of bowl games'?? I can only hope it does. The bowls benefit no one but the bowls themselves and these Athletic Directors, conference commissioners and university presidents that are getting handouts underneath the table. And the regular season wouldn't be devalued. I hate that stupid argument. It will only enhance the regular season. And a playoff will require an unacceptable amount of travel? Um, so if that was the case then why are the semis being held in the bowls instead of on campus where at least one team won't have to travel. The fans of the participating teams are the ones that suffer in using the bowls for semis. I've so had it with these old out of touch dullards. Hopefully in 12 years they are gone and we have some people that are in touch and we get a real playoff. /end rant
  16. So it would be ok for the Big 10 Network to televise one of Alabama's non-conference road games? Okay, that's way off base. Longhorn Network has a deal with Texas State/WAC to broadcast a home football game and if Alabama played at one of the Big Ten schools stadiums and ABC or ESPN didn't pick up the game then BTN would air the game as allowed in the TV contracts. It's not very complicated. When Nebraska plays at UCLA this year, that game could of been on the Pac-12 Network. Texas Tech gives up any TV rights when they go play a game on the road. I don't see the big deal about this. And anyone that hates on LHN is just jealous. I would love to have a network devoted just to the University of Nebraska. Enough already. Texas Tech bitching about what network they are playing on is ridiculous. They shouldn't have scheduled an away game with them if they wanted a say so in what network aired the game.
  17. Harvey makes me sick whenever I see him. Can't stand the guy. Makes the University look bad, in my opinion.
  18. Texas Tech doesn't have a choice. It's a road game for them and therefore they have no say on which network it airs on. And if they decide to cancel the game then that's extremely bush league. If Texas Tech decided to air one of their home games against an FCS team or low level BCS conference game on the Internet and charge $5 or $10 to watch the game then should that team be mad and want to cancel the game? It's ridiculous how they are acting. Just play the game and stop being a bunch of babies about LHN.
  19. Definitely my favorite tournament of the year. The US Open is always way better than the Masters to me.
  20. I get so sick of hearing about the Rose Bowl, too. I just don't get why some make it out to be a game that's well above all other games. Makes me sick. Enough with that already, too!
  21. Yes, but it would behoove the B1G to get all schools on the same page, saying similar things, or it just looks like you don't know what you're doing. Pardon the slight exaggeration, but it seems that you have just as many opinions as you have schools in the B1G. Unless you gag them or get everyone educated on why they need to follow in lockstep, it's going to look like Delaney and co. don't know what they're doing. --- Any playoff with home field play for the top seeds comes across as slap in the face to fans and takes something away from the season play, IMO. Top seeds should have home site advantage--and if you're worried about stadium size, then mandate a seat minimum for top seed hosting--if they don't have the minimum number of seats, then they're responsible for either finding a venue that can host and has the requisite number of seats, or they cede home field advantage to the opponent. Problem solved. IMO, a solution that doesn't have the potential for paid off SEC 'student' athletes freezing their nutsacks off in Lincoln, Ann Arbor, Columbus, or Camp Randall (sorry Happy Valley) during January is a failure, bottom line. Exactly. I just don't understand anyone's logic of wanting to have playoff games in bowl games. Just ridiculous. These bowl games and their employees make a ton of money and who suffers? The fans and universities going to the games. Why in the hell would any fan or school not want to have playoff games at campus sites??? The home team fans don't have to spend money to travel plus the university gets an extra home game along with all the money to be made on concessions and such. It just makes more sense and these old out of touch athletic directors, university presidents and conference commissioners need to wake up.
  22. I get so sick of hearing a playoff will diminish the regular season. Uh, no it won't. If anything it will make it more exciting because more teams have a shot at a national championship at the end of the season. Right now, only 3 or 4 teams every year are vying at the end of the season for a chance to play in the BCS title game. With a playoff more teams are in contention at the end of the year which in return has more excitement and bigger ratings for games on TV. I hate that now if you lose a game then you are most likely out of contention for a championship. Lose two games and you are definitely not going to win a championship that year. The system sucks and so do bowl games. There is a reason why NFL playoffs are so exciting and get huge TV viewers just as their regular season does. Enough already.
