  1. Frost says a lot right in speeches they’ve shown pre game, he does get in refs ears, he’s been very excited and pumped at good play. He just does it kinda flat in overall rah-rah yelling stuff. I like his demeanor overall. as far as pine riding for poor play, didn’t Stepp get sat after his missed blitz? Betts hardly played at all for poor practice play
  2. we used to hold plays back against an Illinoise, get 2nd and 3rd team reps against Fordham and Buffalo in prep for OU ugggh. Let’s just win the next 2 pleeeeease god, and compete against OU
  3. My issue w Frost play calling is that he doesn’t seem to sequentially set up his plays in a drive, let alone plays in the 1st qtr that set up plays in the 4th qtr. And finally, one game to the next. I watched damn near every game during the BS lockdown on YouTube from 82-97 and Osborne was the best there’s ever been at setting up plays in a drive, game, and season. seems like Frost is either trying to get 27yds on one play or just 3-4 for a 1st down drive after drive after drive. Like, fake a reverse in the 1st qtr so you can actually use it in the 3rd or even the next weeks game. Let alone just making the next opponent practice for it. I know without actually gaining 3-6 yds on rush plays means you’re always behind the sticks, but damn. Run some traps and fakes to suck them in and go over the top w PA or naked boots. otherwise, yeah…the players gotta execute also to set themselves up.
  4. As bad as I see us play sometimes I still think Frost needs his 5th year. damn, 5 yrs at my young age was like “give them time!” Now as approach my mid 40s, I really want s#!t to happen now lol!! but honestly, this yrs schedule was a b!^@h even if we squeaked out a win against Illinoise. I’m hoping we see steady improvement and competitiveness, get that 6th win and bowl game. (I predicted in the vote 8-4, but clearly stated 6-6 would suffice) ONE MORE DAMN YEAR in year 5 w a little softer schedule, new AD in year 2, a possible 5 yr stater at QB, 3-5yr OL, and no one giving a F anymore, cuz why would we, pressure off… I think this year can be okay still. Then if at the END of 5 yrs it’s not a grrreat showing, no one would blame us for removing the homegrown golden star. if he moves on during this season or after it, we may never know. gotta get some momentum for the full on judgement year of 5. This season is not over by any stretch (better or worse) so let’s just cheer and be there for the players. I have zero expectations from here on out so count me as one not adding pressure. Let’s just roll and see how it goes.
  5. Easy, there ol bud. there were 5 really big plays that swung the game for Illinois: INT overturned, long pass down sideline, dumbass play by CTB, terrible throw by AM in the end zone, fumble returned for TD before half. 5 plays. 4 of those were “mistakes” by us, given to them. I know we do that on the reg and it’s Frosts M.O. at this point after 3 yrs and 1 game. It suuucks. it’s on him to coach pliers not to do stupid s#!t. my guess is he looked at the tape (for a long time) dissected every play and how each play had the “damn, we were close on that one”. after his disastrous presser, I’m glad and hopeful he see’s the tape and can visualize his team being good and getting better.
  6. I learned if you hold the ball in the pocket too long bad things happen. We are stiff, robotic, don’t run plays sequentially or complimentary, and finally; I learned that although I will watch all the games, I will not expect to win any of them. I just don’t have an expectation of victory.

    Robotic

Yeah, that is a better way of saying what I was. just so tight on offense. Our defense was flying around, fast twitch. Our offense is SO tightly wound.
  8. I am I

    Robotic

It’s not until this last drive that our players on offense seem to be actually moving like fast determined athletes instead of robotic “practice machines” I bet our guys on offense execute amazing in practice. But in games we just look robotic. No one looks like they are slinging and flinging and loose, no urgency.
  9. I put 8-4 let’s get the 6 for a bowl and just be competitive
  10. they will not go down burning. They will exist
  11. I agree but I’m just playing devil’s advocate: women’s golf could go away from pretty much every D1 school. But these juggernaut football programs can exist for another 100 yrs all things being (un)equal
  12. I’d actually be more worried if we were at home this opening week.
  13. What I like that I don’t think anyone said yet: the players on our team were willing to go lift, practice, and interact with themselves; along w their coaches and analysts when all the BS lockdown people in their offices were trying to prohibit it. It might not have turned into more wins (sadly) but it shows that the players trusted their coaches and people to go and play some damn football when the powers that be, idiotically, were shutting them down. Good for N and Frost to just keep things rolling. They should be held up as a model of ingenuity and saying F you to all those ivory tower a$$h@!es who are too old to play. Good for us!
  14. Wyatt Mazour actually got in game, meaningful reps for us recently. If a guy like Yant isn’t playing much because the players in front of him are better, we have grown leaps and bounds in talent. That makes me happy.
  15. no. when a lawyer says he has some info, but “has already said too much” that Cornhusker nation will like but the B1G won’t like… and tries to drop a “before the break” teaser…it’s pretty stupid, and douchey. I’m not holding my breath
  16. I don’t believe anything coming from our fall camp. So I’m: trust but verify. No game is a lock and each win will a hard fought victory, if we can win at all go Cornhuskers
  17. I always thought Nelson was a great example of “make a mistake but make it going 100mph” once his brain catches up to his body, hopefully this year, we’ll see fewer mistakes but still going 100mph. He’s not Van den Bosch or Kelsay type level, but he friggin plays like it.
  18. Quick question… what round was Burrow drafted in and was he a heisman finalist?
  19. let’s have some brevity share your best, favorite, greatest Cornhusker photos of all time.
  20. Damn Martinez stats are pretty good. Kinda wasted on losing teams, but when he clicks he’s been good on stats.
