  1. Exactly the kind of arrogant attitude that Mizzou fans allude to. Nub fans are literally "too good" to care about meaningless little trophies or rivalries. You know what's funny about this whole "arrogant" tangent Missouri fans are so bent about? Oklahoma fans don't think we're arrogant. Texas fans don't think we're arrogant. USC, Florida, and LSU fans don't think we're arrogant. Ever stop to wonder why that is? I'll give you a hint - it has something to do with having been there. They know what it's like, and they know it's not arrogance. But you keep on banging that "arrogance" drum, Missouri Fan. I know it's the only beat you know. Actually I think it's because they are also arrogant.
  2. Total Defense: NU 23rd Iowa 33rd Rushing Defense: NU 45th Iowa 63rd Passing Defense: NU 31st Iowa 32nd Scoring Defense: NU 3rd Iowa 8th I think this Iowa fan is blowing smoke up his own ass Northern Iowa, Iowa State, Arizona and Penn State, albeit not a terribly difficult schedule, is a lot harder than ours has been so far.
  3. Knapplc, not everyone on this board is able to discern the extent of an injury from a few replays and a commercial break, and some even wait until they hear news confirmed by you know, a news source.
  4. How about, "the formation that, when we are in it, we will always run a toss play to that side of the field, and if it is just outside the red zone and it is a toss to the right, it might be a halfback pass."
  5. For the attention of any Missouri fans reading this thread, I too, apologize for the unbelievably arrogant Husker fans around here. I would have thought the last decade would have been a humbling experience.
  6. The stripes were brought back by Calahan. As I just said, do you actually know that the head coach was the one who decided "Hey, I want stripes on the pants!"? Just because we got stripes on the pants the same year that we got a new coach, does not mean that he was responsible.
  7. Last year every game was available to be watched somehow. Hopefully, we'll get at least 3 more on the big-time networks (OU, KU and Colorado), 2 or 3 PPV and then Versus will pick up the rest!
  8. I can't believe I'm saying this...but we are in perfect f'ing harmony here. Steve brought the stripes back in '03, getting away from the Oregon look we rocked in '02. Never liked em. Nope, we went back to the solid pants in '03 (check link). The stripes came in Callahan's first year, but I don't recall ever hearing anything about it being Callhan's decision or not...as far as I know the stripes and Callahan are two completely isolated incidents. Secondly, the stripes we've had since '04 aren't any thicker than the stripes we had back in the 80's/90's.
  9. Sorry original poster, this thread kind of blew up in your face..
  10. Yeah, it's just you. Most on here find him to be a good read, and fair (maybe even a bit pro-Nebraska).
  11. Disclaimer: I am not criticizing the coaching staff's decision to punt, only looking at what could have possibly been alternatives. People are saying it was the right call to punt with how our defense was playing, but since our defense was playing SO well, doesn't that mean we should have went for it because even if we didn't get it and gave them the ball further up field, our defense would be able to stop them? Another thing I don't see people discussing is why we didn't try a field goal, if we didn't want to go for the first down. If I remember right, it would have been 53 yards. Certainly a risk, but then again, if you get it, you're up 8 points and give them virtually no shot at WINNING, only maybe forcing overtime. Any thoughts?
  12. Kind of like in 2006, when we played two top 10 teams extremely close and should have won each game, and were only two years removed from the 5-6 2004 season .... OK, somebody had to say it. We are making progress, but we can't be satisfied with where we are.
  13. I think what people are finding odd is the way that this happened. Writing it off as having a rough game in a tough place to play is a little too simple given exactly how he was struggling, and exactly how he was playing before this game.
  14. Sorry, but he played terrible. People are guessing it was the crowd, or the blitzes, or whatever, and maybe those contributed, but there was definitely something else. During that stretch of 8 incomplete passes, those were not because of pressure or covered receivers, he was flat out MISSING throws. Even when Currenski got open on that third and short, if Lee would have actually thrown the ball to him he could have started running downfield, but instead he had to tip-toe the sideline and fall out of bounds. There was something seriously wrong with Zac Lee today, and it was a separate factor than the pressure (most of the time when he got hit he still had a few seconds in the pocket anyways) or the receivers being well covered.
  15. You guys are frankly...ridiculous. Craig James is accurate, our defense hasn't shown anything in several years (besides being OK in 2006) that deserves national praise, and Mark May does not hate Nebraska. Neither does Kirk Herbstreit.
  16. No offense my friend, but a b1ackout is not a new idea. It's been tried by the student section for years. It's looked like shite every single time. (half wear red, 1/4 wear black, 1/4 wear white). I think it was tried for the Texas game among others . . . and plus we seem to get beat every time it is attempted. Very true. The only time it even came close to being successful was during the Texas game 2006... and that still looked like Shite... I think huskerfan thinks he's coming up with something original... but... yeah... it's been going on since the beginning of the 2006 season. The student section had a legitimate b1ackout during the Western Michigan game last year and it didn't look terrible, just.....different. I for one am all for it, but only if they university endorses it and gets t-shirts for everybody, in other words, only if we're sure it would be an actual B******. I don't think I've ever seen a legitimate red-out, which I think would look 10x cooler
  17. Welcome to the Masquerade and Smackdown seem like they would be good choices (Smackdown fits football a bit), and Fire it Up might be a good choice as well. Whatever you feel would be best.
  18. Good video. I appreciate the thought in using Skillet, but their new album is just bad if you ask me. Any chance you could use a new TFK song on the next one?
  19. X-Games start tonight, make sure to set your DVR!
