Pat Forde hasn't been in Lincoln, Orlando or Gainesville in the past week, hasn't talked to any of the ADs or Chip Kelly or Scott Frost.  So how would he know who the top candidates are?

List Season is among the most ridiculous times of college sports, where national pundits with little or no connection to 95% of the teams they cover are suddenly experts on the inner workings of these programs.

Don't believe anything about who's going after whom, especially from national writers like Forde, Staples or Mandel. They rely on reports from local journalists and interns trolling message boards for most of their "inside info."

Think about the absurdity of the lists they put out when a coach is fired. Immediately when a guy is fired, they have a top five target list for that school. They can't possibly know if those people are being considered, have been contacted, etc. It's all crafted to make a compelling story so you'll consume their content.
