I understand why people root for other teams in the conference to do well, but it’s just not something I believe in. I only care about Nebraska and how we are doing. Caring about how other teams in the conference do is something that fans of losing teams do.

How can you quantify that statement? I can root for another team in my conference to do well because that facilitates unity within the community of the B1G. Otherwise, why be in a conference at all?  

Unity within the conference?  Screw that. Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan, etc. are Nebraska’s competitors. I want NU to beat those teams down, not try to be “brothers against other conferences”.  Do you think Ohio State and Michigan gives one iota how good Nebraska is? Heck no. They just care about propping themselves up, and I don’t blame them. I want NU to get back to the point where we only have to care about ourselves and not worry about the accomplishments of other schools within the conference. You sound like a college football socialist.
