  1. I admit I was kinda biased because Pedey handled his first year in office like such a passive-aggressive snake. Pedey didn't help matters by chasing the likes of Wannstadt and Nutt and getting repeatedly shot-down. I wanted us to chase a Meyer or Rodriquez or keep Bo. So maybe I was less open to BC than others. But it still wasn't a good sign that the raiders quit and practically mutinied on him. But I thought he could work-out if he learned some lessons from his previous experiences, too bad he didn't. He is definitely a smart guy but he oozes stubborness and arrogance, that was his undoing.
  2. I was in favor of a proven HC like Kelly, Grobe, or Mendenhall. But I like Bo and think he'll do a good job.
  3. Congrats, hell of a jump.
  4. Yeah if he weighs 280 lbs. Uh, we are talking about a college-prospect who is only a junior now. For a 6'8" high school junior 4.8 is good. 4.8 for a guy that tall that that weighs 280 is generally what you talk about for a serious pro-prospect college-guy or maybe a 5* recruit we are fighting the national powers for.
  5. He definitely improved his stock, he showed some serious hops as-well, 38 and 1/2". He isn't big enough to be an every-down back but I can see him as a solid 3rd-down/swing-pass guy.
  6. Interesting prospect, 4.8 is good for a high schooler that tall.
  7. Don't forget that Ganz didn't get to really practice with the first-team O til Keller went down. This year he'll have Spring and Fall camp to get in-synch with starters.
  8. Football, not even close. Maybe if it was a deal for Creighton and Nebraska to be elite basketball programs I'd say B-ball but even then I'm not sure if I'd opt for b-ball.
  9. I think that because players used to get away with so much there is now a backlash and they can't even do the same crap your average college-guy does. But it does seem like too many of these players don't realize you gotta chill and comply when the cops show-up even if you don't agree with them being there. It isn't worth the trouble you'll get into genius.
  10. Amazing how one win over WV with Patrick White hurt has glossed over the rest of Wanny's unimpressive stint there and now they are such an "up and comer". Hell they lost easily their best coach, Rhoades, to Auburn. Ya they had a nice recruit-class but Pedey's boy here proved it takes more than that to win.
  11. We will be hard-pressed to beat Texas or OU on any Texas-kids. I doubt we get more than one that those guys offered. We'll mainly be battling for the 3* guys with ATM, Okie State, Mizzou, Tech, and the SEC-teams.
  12. I know it said he wasn't going to be a GA but with the new opening has that changed? My guess is he'll get some kind of position like Ekeler had down in LSU where technically he was a strength coach but he worked with Bo.
  13. Has this guy looked at Neuheisel's hires? He managed to keep a good DC in Dwayne Walker and scored a major coup in getting uberOC/QB-coach Norm Chow. I wasn't big on the Neuheisel hire but his regime is definitely off-and-running.
  14. It is bad enough that students were moved to a not-so-hot area now they get moved back from that? Nice. If they are going to be moved-back so folks don't have to sit behind them then they should get seats facing the actual sidelines again. It is the university team afterall and they are the ones that give us a homefield advantage. Back in my day(late 80's, early 90's) students got decent seats.
  15. It will also help that Joe will actually be working with the starters. He didn't get to practice with the starters til he became on himself. While picks might be an issue I think the circumstances he was throwing under increased his picks. I think he'll likely throw a fairly average number this year, maybe less depending on how much we throw and how often we are trying to come from behind.
  16. I'd imagine there is some "under the table" contact when a guy is looking to leave. Not direct talk to those other coaches but some indirect stuff that gets the point across whether the kid would have a spot waiting or not.
  17. I would hope we are going back to the old Spring-game format and not this starters vs mainly 3rd-string dog-and-pony-show crap. Ya 1's vs 1's and 2's vs 2's is still a scrimmage but you at-least get a feel what the guys are like against a legit 1A O's/D's/starters. You actually get some feel for the team, plus the game is decently contested not all freaking lopsided. If they aren't going to be contributing during this season I don't want to see them in the first-half of the red-white game. The youngsters and walk-ons should play but mainly against each-other and later in the game.
  18. I could certainly be wrong on this but I would think BC practiced as many days of the week as allowed by the NCAA. But I'd agree about practices being significantly more physical. You gotta hit and coach fundamentals at the college-level. BC always wanted to treat this like a pro-team and only moved away from that when it came to paring-down his enormous playbook some. When Bo was here the first time he actually went through a scrimmage staying in base-D to emphasize the importance of fundamentally-sound football and hustle/flying to the ball. I'd imagine we'll see more of that attitude. When he became HC he ran more succinct, active practices than Solich did-not that long but with less standing-around. I would assume practices will reflect Bo and be more intense than we've been seeing. Day-one he told them they'd work their asses off.
  19. That sounds about right. We'll be in the middle of the pack with KU, ATM, Tech, Okie St, and CU. Should be a very exciting season, if Bo can us back to respectable on D it'll be good for a good three more wins than last season. Don't forget about improved S&C, that will help as-well.
  20. Limas Sweed did a lot for his stock I think we'll see a fair amount of 'skers do things, there is more talent here than was shown on the field.
  21. I can see him going to Northern Iowa or somewhere like that if he wants to really play this season.
  22. Pelini had one-to-one's with everyone on the team. I'd assume he and Dillard came to an understanding. Bo probably admitted that he'd had an axe to grind due to being treated so shabbily by Pedey. A lot of guys would be bitter if they did what Bo did only to get kicked to the curb anyway.
  23. Our D was so poorly prepared and motivated that it is hard to say how much talent is there. It hurts that we lose so many starters at LB and DB obviously. I don't know what to expect from this D other than they'll look to be ball-hawkers like Bo's other D's. The change in S&C should help some. On O we just need a couple guys to step-up in terms of receiving. Swift will be a solid possession-guy but we need some playmaking and for somebody to step-up at TE. Hopefully that JUCO we landed can give us the TE-presence we've lacked since Herian got hurt.
  24. Wouldn't surprise me to see him transfer-out simply because with Lucky back we have a logjam at the position.
  25. The rb-experiment was just lameness that came out of a shortage during the spring. He should've stayed on D. I see him at LB this year.
