I am remember times, this season even, when TA has been under pressure and just flung the ball with literally no clue where it was going. So maybe this was yet another brain cramp. Still, as others said, you don't even call a play where he would even consider it. Hand it to Jano.

Just as brilliant as last time.

It's at best poor communication between QB and coach, or worse, Riley has already lost his QB 5 games in.

***Official Illinois Game Discussion Thread***
VA Husker Fan replied to Mavric's topic in Husker Football
Sorry, but that is BS. You can't say 3rd down and then change it to 4th. Once you started the play, you have to stick with the down you said it was. Also, you should have your crap together and not lose track of downs so this simply doesn't matter. I wasn't paying close attention to the game to see how this happened. -
Who will win more games this season?
VA Husker Fan replied to RunMickeyRun02's topic in Husker Football
Texas may not make it through this season at all. -
The officiating must be just awful again this week. 23-0 TCU in the 1st Q and they are past midfield again.

And people wonder why the US is so divided

The problem won't be fixed overnight. That's no reason to kick it down the road and let it get worse and worse. -

Certainly not hours after the tragedy when some family members still didn't know if there loved one was killed. Here is what the President should have said: "Today we are here to mourn the loss of more young lives lost to a madman, and our prayers and condolences go out to those families and loved ones affected. There is too much gun violence in this nation, and I call on members of both parties to come together and partner with me to analyze why this continues to happen, but that is not a discussion for today. Today we must support the families and the community college during this difficult time. Thank you very much." That's fine. I'll agree with that. But let's also stop the other post-shooting bullsh#t where politicians say "The victims and families are in our prayers." but do absolutely nothing but line their pockets with donations from the gun lobby. More gun control may or may not work (seems to be working pretty well in Australia though, right?). But saying prayers for victims regularly absolutely is not working. Not sure why I'm even bothering taking part in this. Nothing was done after Sandy Hook, so clearly too many people have decided that it's not worth even trying to prevent children from dying needlessly again. It's hard, and it won't be 100% effective, so let's not even make an effort. As Jeb Bush says, "Stuff happens." You can always say prayers after stuff happens, amirite? -
I'd guess/hope we could ramp back up pretty quickly if the need arrived and we weren't friendly with our suppliers.

Crouch came kind of close when he was switching between WR and QB (1999 Cal, 8 short on rushing and 42 short on receiving), and again in 2001 vs OU (2 out of 3, but only 21 yds rushing while Diedrich had 90). -
The dumpster fire continues. Last week they miss an extra point that would've put the game into OT. This week their punter lets a perfectly good snap sail through his hands with under a minute to go and let's Okie St kick the game winner.

Corn Flakes: The Last Time Nebraska Was 1-2
VA Husker Fan replied to r06ue1's topic in Husker Football
And the next weekend, we were losing at the half to unranked Auburn in the rain, and some fans booed as the team left the field. In the 2nd half, fans got what they wanted as Turner Gill entered the game and we won out in the regular season before losing to Clemson in the Orange Bowl, with Gill out and Mauer playing hurt and barely able to throw. Unfortunately I don't think I see a Turner Gill on the bench, and the two losses were to better teams. No real changes on offense. McBride was the new DC but he had already been on staff and I don't think he changed things that much either. It was just a tough OOC schedule, though the Big 8 wasn't too tough then. -
NU 36 Miami 33-What would the headlines read?

Disappointed in folks, you aren't using your usual imaginations. "Nebraska makes SEC-like comeback" -

And another Ole Miss TD. Bama is in serious trouble now, 43-24 with 10 minutes to go. -

They will let Strong finish the year. He surrounded himself with ineptitude so no one could step in for him. Mack Brown is available. I'm at least half-serious, not that it would be a good idea. But there are rumors for Jamail (their mega booster) wanting Brown for the AD job. Isn't Jamail his attorney? I remember seeing something about when they pushed out Mack. Attorney/agent but also a huge booster. As in, Joe Jamail Field at Darrell K Royal Memorial Stadium.

In those 3 games, we had a total of 13 sacks for -97 yards. Probably not all were on Stewart, especially in '92 when Detmer played a lot. The sack losses are included in rushing stats in college, btw.

Catch phrase guys are awful, and Berman is the worst of the worst. Keith Jackson may have had "Whoa Nellie" and a couple other catch phrases, but he knew not to overuse them and not try to be bigger than the game. Somebody told Verne Lundquist they liked his "My Goodness" and now he brings it out a dozen or more times a game. It's been a few years since I've listened to a Husker radio broadcast but I really liked Greg Sharpe. On TV today I like Gus Johnson. He goes pretty hyper but somehow it comes off good to me.

Over-the-air antenna
VA Husker Fan replied to darkhorse85's topic in Big Red Lounge: Official BS Forum
I have a Mohu Leaf antenna that I have inside so I can watch other games from a second TV if they are ota, and I'm picking up station from at least 50 miles away. You may or may not have to put yours on the roof. Play with how it needs to be pointed to get the best signal. The nice thing is that as long as you are getting a signal and it is not pixellated, you are good to go. -

Wearing a Huskers t-shirt in Portland, OR
VA Husker Fan replied to Quornhusker's topic in Big Red Lounge: Official BS Forum
Good to know. I'm heading out to Oregon for 10 days later this week, though not much time in Portland. Had to check this thread and make sure something bad didn't happen. -
Jacksonville St leading Auburn deep in 4th quarter
VA Husker Fan replied to VA Husker Fan's topic in Other Sports
They will drop. Mark my words.yeah they will drop to like 9-10 but ole miss will jump like 10 spots for beating Fresno st Auburn dropped 12 spots in the AP, 8 in the coaches poll. Ole Miss went up 2 and 3 spots, and all but one team that they passed lost yesterday. I'm sure none of this will be remembered though.
