  1. so, basically, he has a bat sh#t crazy girlfriend.
  2. I agree with you, Witt is out the door, lets now look to the future which is Lee or Green. Major rep points to Bo for showing Witt, the team and fans how tough of a coach he is. If what was said about Crouch bullying Solich into begging him to come back, i had no idea that was case, but thats pretty sad. However it does make sense though. When he got drafted by the Rams as a CB, he was pissed and threaten to leave if they didnt make him QB, but he got injured and was let go by the team. well i don't know if anyone knows the EXACT details of the thing, but if i remember right Newcombe was named starter at first, crouch went emo but solich talked to him and got him to come back. Newcombe still started at first but i think they got crouch significant PT and he started partly because of an injury to Newcombe. I think they traded starting jobs a couple times but Crouch eventually won it. IDK that he was begged back or promised anything. I think all we know is that he decided to come back after solich talked to him. Could have been that he just convinced him to stick it out, could have been that Solich caved in some way, who knows.
  3. http://www.huskerextra.com/articles/2009/0...2c306208096.txt link to article at LJS looks like he was shying from the competition imo. you can't have players (and their parents) dictating when you will do what you do.
  4. holy crap, i figured him as the front runner to start! wonder whats going on
  5. i would like to see some statistics on number of players leaving for draft early each year for the last 20 years. I'm younger, but I haven't really noticed so drastic of an increase in people leaving early for the nfl. also, not that we want to be wake forest, but im pretty sure that year they won a bcs game that (or did they just go to one? can't remember) they had mostly redshirt upperclassmen.
  6. what are you going to do, measure the ass of every ticket holder? what about someone that gets a hold of a ticket elsewise, do they get denied entrance bc of their ass size on game day? Also, do you charge more for really tall people? I agree that the people around you can be really annoying, and their inabilty to keep to their own space is one reason, but its just something you have to deal with unless you have club style seats.
  7. man the thought of this guy at a larger program scares me. if he gets canned i hope he goes outside the big 12
  8. Exactly. I'm still sore over some of the rule changes, especially allowing QB's to throw it away outside of the tackle. IF you are in third and long especially, why wouldn't you run a shotgun with your line in tight splits? All your QB has to do is take two steps to be outside the tackle. The other thing that annoys me, is I liked getting rid of the halo rule, but now its just like the referees decided that there is no such thing as kick catch interference. Also, I'm not sold on the helmet to helmet, horse collar, or getting rid of 5 yard facemask.
  9. i guess i can kind of see where you are coming from, i mean all through the 90s we respected them, always considered them a quality opponent even though they mostly were down. I mean i doubt we had any fans holding up a "what rivalry?" sign during one of the games where we blew them out.
  10. on the other hand, what happens if dennard doesnt spring paul into the end zone with his blocks on that kick return against SJSU?
  11. If you think Ganz had the respect of the players on the team this year, you are crazy. I personally know players who have told me Ganz is full of himself and extremely cocky. He thinks he is good and a lot of players really disliked the guy. On the other hand, Keller is 50X more athletic than Ganz will ever be. I feel that Keller would have done just as well if not better this year than Ganz. Swift and Pederson made Ganz LOOK really good. Hence why he will never see the light of day on Sundays. Sorry if this makes some people upset but I really feel it is the truth. I am glad Ganz is gone. (he was a tough mother though) It's funny, I remember hearing THE EXACT same thing about Tommie Frazier.
  12. I can't understand why we didnt see another middle screen. The one early in the game to lucky would have been a touchdown if not for the Umpire tackling him, lol. Seems logical that that would be open with how much they were blitzing.
  13. Jesus, all hockey? Those announcers didn't even sound excited and their "jokes" were mostly lame. I'm glad I don't watch sportcenter anymore, bc it would be a waste of my time.
  14. thats what I'm sayin. I been sittin here badmouthing Watson more than anyone. And, don't get me wrong, I like Watson, but seriously, the play selection has been BEYOND vanilla, against a really good defense with a month to prepare! Also, the slip screen earlier to Lucky would have been a TD if the ref didn't tackle him, and I have yet to see a single screen again- we need to run that play on a first down and catch them off guard. I agree though, need to line up in some more traditional formations against these guys, use Castille and some PA.
  15. stop hatin on Ganz. IMO the problem so far is some of our linemen and Watson. Seriously, it looks like we're playing Tecmo bowl where we have 4 runs 4 passes to pick from. And Mike Smith is the guy that needs to be out of the game, not Ganz. He hasn't touched anyone on pass pro or run blocking yet.
  16. anyone else feel like Daniel just kind of gave up this year after his name started dropping off the Heisman list? The difference between him now and at the beginning of the season is almost unbelievable
  17. yeah eddie george takes the cake for worst heisman ever imo. he wasn't even the best running back that year.
  18. Maybe we're just paranoid, but I can see this. The thing I've always wondered is what would have that 04 season been like if we had retained our coaches? We had a lot of returning starters. And yeah daily wasn't a great qb but if he hadn't been forced to play a certain way he easily could have been more productive. i remember one of his few good plays where he took off running and dove into the endzone, and Callahan came out screaming at him. I mean you can say rebuilding year all you want, but that year we were in a scarily close game against MAINE. if he did, then i guess last year was some sort of football karma, although it was just double bad for all of us.
  19. Wolfert has made a career of rarely missing. This year actually brought his career average down to 82% thanks to missing 4 FGs of 50+ yards. this is the problem though, I don't know anything about how wolfert's season went, but too often these teams are just who is percieved as being the best talent at that position as opposed to who had an outstanding season.
  20. this isnt the first time texas got "screwed" as far as which bowl game they ended up in. Each time in the past they have ended up laying an egg against a much weaker team, but I agree that they should roll over OSU
  21. maybe it was wishful thinking because they don't want to have to continue to go to 62-21 blowout "championship" games.
  22. yeah, what happened to parity? i guess there is only parity if you play in a sh**ty conference and get lucky every once in a blue moon in a bowl game. I say NU should defect and join MWC or WAC or something
  23. I like our chances in this game, but I don't see where you can say we would blow them out. Who have we blown out this whole year? NMSU is about it. ISU wasn't a contest but we didn't hang enough on them to really be a blowout. SJSU no, lol. WMU close.
  24. well, im guessing the gator bowl is grass, so idk, by games end they would be all dirty.
  25. The "North Trophy" isn't a real trophy. Let's save our glee for when the XII glass bowl comes back to Lincoln. Let KSU and MU celebrate their North Trophies as evidence of their "dominance". i can think of another trophy that has glass on it that would be better, they still do that one right?
