  1. I agree, plus I still remember that bowl game loss in 1990 when GT won their last NT under Bobby Ross. I think it was 40-15 or something like that. Would be nice to get some payback.
  2. In 2012, I'm planning an experiment to see if NU fans can singlehandedly decide a presidential election . . . Where is a link to that Herbstreet rant about the Greatest CFP team poll when you need it!
  3. This looks much more realistic to me. I even think we will be a better team next year and could potentially have a worse record. I do think that VaTech is similar to us in that how the young players develop will determine a lot. That game may be winnable. MO and Tech will also be something to watch as they graduate some very key players. I wouldn't be surprised if we won these but reality says it will be tough. Kansas returns a ton of people and have to be pissed at how this year has turned out. They will have something to prove. Don't sleep on CU. They are a joke right now but if their O-line doesn't get hurt this year could've been different for them. And then again they could suck again- hard to tell. Lots of close road games in that schedule. May be games we'd win at home. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised to see Watson have an offense designed for his new QB and RB/ WR's earlier in the year. I also wouldn't be surprised if our D took a serious step forward so...maybe we kick a$$ next year. Wow, I would hope that we start at 8-4 and move up from there. There is a lot of young talent sitting on the benches right now that will make an immediate impact next year.
  4. Excellent Thinking. Beck may not be quite ready yet for WR, maybe shuffle Brown back to WR, Beck to TE, Drayton at RB. I like the sounds of that........ Now now now. YOu guys are trying to fix something that's not broken. On top of that, Beck was the Passing Game Coordinator at KU before coming to NU. I also think he coached the receivers, don't hold me to that, so I think he could "handle" that if needed. Not sure you go wrong either way, but moving Beck from RB Coach does open the slot for Stan Drayton as mentioned.
  5. Outside of Green, this is the one I want the most. Every time I read about him I can't but help being impressed by his character. This one is one of a kind, he is the kind that in the huddle when the chips are down he will make the play but not bragg. His ability to run, catch, throw, etc. just seems like a natural fit to the offense NU is running now.
  6. I love it that for the most part, and check the responses on this topic on HB in the past to see, there are two extremes when it comes to recruiting. You are either "the stars mean everything" or "the stars mean nothing, it is all coaching!" I would tend to think if you meld the two opinions together you get closer to the truth. I think the ratings do give some measure by which to evaluate the classes, after all athletic talent is often a result of how fast, big, and strong you are. However I also believe the mental make up plays a large part and don't forget that these are only 17/18 year olds so just having the tools doesn't mean you are ready to play. That is where the coaching comes in. Look at the NU team this year, a good chance to be 9-4, almost all of the starters are from the BC era, contributed heavily last year, and went 5-7. What if Bo had taken over instead of BC and had the same classes that were brought in? Would we be having a different conversation if Bo's team had a chance to develop these young men? My guess is yes. As an illustration of all of this, I found this article that was posted on Bleacherreport a couple of months ago. I think it does a good job of illustrating the dilema. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/64670-d...ollege-football
  7. Gas at the On-Cue on 15th and Air Depot was $1.64 last night Same gas station is down to $1.60 today AWESOME!! If it gets to $1.50 I might have a heart attack.. Wife told me this morning it was down to $1.57 yesterday evening I need to move to Oklahoma then.
  8. times one-hundred-gazillion-bazillion-quadrillion At work again today, still don't want to be here.
  9. Ok my turn to look stupid, what does "NVM" mean?
  10. I don't find his posts funny at all. Unlike TAR's posts that are at least trying to be on topic, Fargo's are simply not on topic and/or controversial. It is very apparent that he knows exactly what he is doing and is simple looking to provoke a response, trolling. In this regard, I guess he is successful since several of us have responded.
  11. Cy put together the last two weeks into one prediction thread.
  12. That would be nice, though I think he redshirts no matter what. Being able to practice will ensure he is developed enough to contribute the next year. If it wasn't for the injury, do you think he would have still been redshirted? The reason I ask is because I think we redshirted all our of 2008's LBs commits, right? Yes I think he would have to redshirt still. I think you will see Bo do more of what he did this year, redshirt on purpose to build depth. Also read in this post that while he is a big hitter and moves well, he needs work in coverage technique. Have to be able to cover as a LB versus all of the Big XII offenses these days.
  13. Who are they? According to this thread, only Qvale and Omigie. Anyone show anything different? http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=30275
  14. Last I saw, there were only 2-3 visitors for the NU-CU game. That is one of the best things we have to recruit, getting a kid like this to see NU on game day could make a difference. I guess the holidays makes it tough.
  15. Well thats good that his only other gameday experience was Colorado State.. Lets blow him away!!! I agree, with the great job the staff normally does for gameday visits this one sounds promising.
  16. Oh my, I just had a temporary loss of vision!!! That is not good.
  17. If this year is any indication at all, Bo will play a lot of players on D. All of them should see time.
  18. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ that and he played at KSU and coached there. Looking at it objectively, without the ties, it doesn't make sense. With one major difference, KSU is in one of the "power" conferences. No matter how good TCU is right now or in the future, they will not get a shot at the NCG only BCS as an outside possibility.
  19. At work today and I soooooo don't want to be here.
  20. I suppose I should post here... 1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? 31 years, since I was born! 2) What/who led you to The Nation? Grew up in it as my family are all fans. 3) Where are you from originally? Grew up in Southwest Iowa, just an hour East of Omaha. 4) Where do you live now? NY State, just a bit North of NYC 5) Favorite Husker memory? Going to the games with my dad and watching the tears on his face in '95 after the Orange Bowl. 6) Worst Husker memory? Tie, watching NU lose to Miami in the Orange bowl 31-0 and watching CU score 15 points in the fourth to win in Lincoln. 7) Number of home games attended? I think somwhere between 20-25. Used to go to at least 1 game a year and many years I could go to 2-3. 8) Number of away games attended? None 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? Blackshirt Tee Shirt. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) If I get the chance, watching a game in SW section where my family has Season tix would be great. 11) Favorite all time player? Tough one.....Grant Wistrom or Tommie Frasier I guess. 12) WCO or Option? Current Offense suites me fine. 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? Bob Devaney 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Herbie! 15) Favorite Husker play? Off Tackle out of the Power I 16) Favorite game-day beverage? Any kind of non-light beer! 17) How did you find HuskerBoard? 21. Interesting that we are looking at him as a WR. Maybe that will persuade him in our direction. He's definately got the size and speed to play wideout! If his 40 time is legit at 4.55 then he is definately fast enough. Could end up being a player they put in several positions on the field, Watson's creativity would be great to combine with a versital player like this.
