  1. A lot of people don't add in the fact that Stoops has had a lot of assistant leave to take other jobs too. He makes great hires and keeps them in the top ten while managing a revolving door of assistant coaches, this is impressive. If Stoops could keep the same staff for at least 3 seasons I think they would win another NC.
  2. Here's to a long year of your sleepless nights HE'S BAACK!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I have thought about this many times, but remember a kid by the name Baker. All I'm going to say right now.
  4. I still see Tommie in front, he didn't lose a game that he started his junior and senior seasons. Tebow already has. Plus, Tommie beat a Miami team that featured stars Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp in what was basically a home game for them, a much more difficult feat than Florida beating Oklahoma in Florida.
  5. Young is just another kid looking to be spoon fed. Have fun watching from the backseat in the Big XII. This is no shot at KU. But this kid will have to earn a spot at Kansas too and it just doesn't sound like he is willing to work hard enought to make that happen. Competition brings out the best in players and he is taking the easy way out.
  6. This is what I look at also. Frazier started from the time he got here until the time he left. I know he didn't start the whole season in '93 but that was out of his control. Plus, he was the best player on the arguably the best team ever. Tommie only lost three games his entire college career as a starter, Tebow lost 4 alone last season. If the championship teams of NU in '94 or '95 played this years FL team, FL would be lucky to keep it within a couple TDs. Don't get me wrong, Tebow one of the great QBs of all time, but he is no Tommie Frazier.
  7. I wish him luck. I think the the things that really got under my skin about him was the inability to be a man and take responsibiliy for what was going on. The day he said, "It's not my job to motivate these players.", I knew the season was over. WHAT THE F##k!!!!!! Defense is all EMOTION and ATTITUDE. I know this is . I just hope the other coaches running their D know how to motivate or Minn is in for some long seasons.
  8. Compare overall W-L records. Enough said.
  9. All I can say is....Notre Dame at 18??? Give me a break. Same sh!t different year.
  10. I agree with what both of you have said. For me this season will be very telling of how good of a coaching staff we have. We don't have any true "studs" established on this team but some solid players. Attention to detail is going to be very important this year because our inexperience is really going to hurt us. What I mean by attention to detail is this (which I'm sure I don't have to tell you this but what the hell): playing small ball, solid defense, make the correct throws, pitchers executing pitches and not trying to out muscle a hitter, (and the biggest) play as a TEAM. This team needs to play GREAT fundamental baseball this year to have a chance to go to a regional. We don't have a JD to rely on and get away with a bad hitting day anymore. We don't have a "Matt Hopper" bat in the lineup to bail us out. What I'm trying to say is over the last few years we have lost our game changers. This is why I agree with the statement about a drop off in recruiting. I like Mike Andersen but with the talent on the team right now, "coaching" couldn't be anymore important than it is right now.
  11. Can someone please make me a sig that has to do with the Blackshirt skull and cross bones? Or maybe with Jason Peter throwing the bones? Give me some pics to choose from please I'm not real sure what I want. Thanks in advance!
  12. To get a kid in this late and hopefully have the last impression is big.
  13. This is great to hear for Taylor, hopefully he is solid in commit to NU.
  14. This is actually one of the things that is encouraging to me about the future of our team. Pelini will build a stout defense, there's no question about that. We should get better on offense if Watson sticks around for a few years, and that's a big IF. But what happens when Watson leaves? It is a wait and see situation for sure but until that happens we are going to be very tough to handle. I know that we are going to be breaking in a new QB next season but I am encouraged by how Watson's young QB's at Colorado played, especially against us. As to whether we start off the season with the Blackshirts or not, I don't know. I guess it will depend on how practices are going and if Bo thinks the defense can play up to that level or not. I hope the defense starts next season off with a bang and is dominant from the start, but that might be asking a little much from a still pretty young unit.
  15. Swift, this guy has done so much for us over the last few years. It would just be fitting to see him go out with a bang.......and a WIN! GBR!!!!!!!!!
  16. Post deleted. Sorry had to fix the last one.
  17. Thoughts and prayers to all of the Pelini family and friends.
