Of course, any study like this would have to be at least 50 years old to effectively study the degenerative results later in life. I think the only other studies done focused on NFL players with 5+ years in the league. Somewhat different than HS ball.

Helmets would have been far less protective, but the game is completely different now physically. Hard to put too much weight in that study.

I agree, the study is probably not real applicable to conditions today. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any better studies available that would apply to the possible effects on HS football players.
