      Defense is worthless. 

       

      (Reading the book right now, and just read two chapters about why the A's chose not to value defense lol)

      Depends on the team’s identity. Defense isn’t worth much if the pitching isn’t there. The Royals won a World Series with relief pitching and defense. I think small market teams have to exploit the weaknesses of their division
