  1. That's why I never EVER open my mouth about the Huskers "guaranteed" winning anything. I guess I'm not too good at smack talk and hate when people with any affiliation do it. I like my facts and data, and that's what I use to do my talking. That said, I think the Huskers CAN win. Will they? That's up to them, not me.
  2. One person ragged, (mine wasn't meant to rag, it must have come across differently to you), and another was slightly sarcastic. I do believe the information, personally.
  3. from Big Red Network, comparing how Suh/Helu are modeling Nebraska's throwbacks versus CU's - picture below:
  4. well then, just get him to get pointy hair like Weatherspoon (sp?) has in that MU fan's sig, and he'll be a heat seeking missle.
  5. Based on your user name, you're probably looking for a thread on "how can we beat MU" or something, and it went off course - was moved to the woodshed because people couldn't stay on topic or remain reasonable. Or something. I don't think you're missing much in that thread, but that's only my opinion.
  6. One word: Ridiculous. The map does look like paintball gone mad. Thankfully I'll be at the game. But would have been nice to DVR it so I could come home and see it the way I usually do. If you get ESPNU, I believe they are going to replay it a day or two after the fact, but doesn't help during the live game. It's just never the same.
  7. Ivan Maisel talks about Rodriguez at Michigan, and near the bottom of the article, mentions some people near and dear to our hearts. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/stor...&id=4475809
  8. I'm not personally kicking while you're down, but some things just make sense to do. Regardless of your current coaching woes, to me it just makes more logical sense to have CU in the MWC. It doesn't matter to me how good or bad a team is currently in my decision. If we're talking sheer embarrassments to the conference alone, I'd boot ISU before CU. By the way, I think CU's season is starting to get to you - you're repeating yourself.
  9. If the Husker D finds a way to force Tyrod to pass. Probably not going to happen, but I can dream VT's running game gets shut down, can't I? Why, yes! Yes I can!
  10. They definitely have to play with sound assignments for this game. I watched just the first quarter of their game against Marshall and whenever the line surged one particular way, TT just ran the other way and got massive chunks of yards. Side note: the announcers for that game on ESPN360 were horrible. I pictured Boss Hogg for the color guy.
  11. Whatever you felt, or I felt, it was still a "win" in my book because the team showed me a little something and just never gave up. Just kept fighting and scrapping till the end, and yes, did have a chance. It was pleasing regardless of the scoreboard.
  12. Utah/Boise would be great. But, the problem with them would be geography. If I'm kicking CU out, which I would do in a heart beat, they should be replaced by a team who's a little closer to the rest of the conference.
  13. He hasn't even played a snap in garbage time, has he? He must have really really screwed the pooch with whatever he did (or did not do). It will be good to see him back in the lineup though. Lay some lumber, Phil!
  14. How exactly did we "have them by the balls"? The Huskers were down by 18 at one point and I don't even remember it feeling at all close. Sure there was a late surge to make a comeback and we all know the final score. Sorry, but I got on a Jayhawk fan about claiming to "almost beat the Sooners", with just about the same result - a score that looks closer than the game felt.
  15. My non-conference and bowl rooting interests, in this order: Nebraska . . . . Rest of the Big 12 North . . Big 12 South . . Whoever is playing whoever ESPN is over-hyping at the time. Within the north conference games, I'll root against anyone in the north whoever has the upper hand on the standings, outside of Nebraska of course. When I have "no dogs" in the conference fight, root for the underdog. Exceptions: There seems to be one team every year that breaks my rooting pattern. Last year it was MU because as someone already mentioned, Chase "Booger" Daniel was one of the biggest douches I've ever seen, and just got douchier as the years and the days wore on. Good friggen riddance. The year before that it was CU because of all the cherry picking they did of the "rats abandoning ship". I don't fault the kids for committing elsewhere, but will say they made their own bed with their choice. Who will my exception be this year? I don't know yet, I haven't decided.
  16. My announcer will be whoever the PA announcer is. Neener neener! Buuuuut, will be recording the game for posterity also, so thanks for the information - at least now I know I'll be able to get through the recording without getting too annoyed with certain "voices" of college football.
  17. For starters, I think at this point in time, CU belongs in the MWC. It just makes more sense given their budget. In their place, I wouldn't mind seeing a Big 10 team like Minn or Northwestern.
  18. Most alumni, myself included, still have difficulty wrapping that around our brains. Some remember Beamer's early years where we were an independent and an insignificant program. That was just before my time as a Hokie. I, however, remember the beating y'all gave us in the '96 Orange Bowl. I remember being the new kid on the block in the national stage. I don't think many of our younger fans truly appreciate where we came from. But yeah ... it's difficult to fathom that Nebraska, with your history & tradition, considers the game against us a measuring stick. My oh my ... how far we've come. It's quite a testament to the job Beamer has done over the formidable years of your program. Best of all, it was built the right way. I know most every Husker fan has nothing but great respect for your coach and the program as a whole. He is truly one of the best in the biz.
  19. Just get there safely! But, oh my, that's quite a trek. We're taking a little more leisurely approach, not leaving until Friday mid-morning. If the maps and directions are correct, it's 5.5 hours of travel time.
  20. Great writeup, permafour! I can't wait for this game. Win or lose, I hope we see max effort and no injuries from both teams. This is going to be a great test to see how Mr. Cool unknown QB reacts to pressure in a hostile environment. I can't think of a better team to go up against this weekend, and I can't wait to experience Lane and the Hokie fans.
  21. I think he'll do alright, though, after another year of being fully in charge and knowing his personnel better. The defense is what worries me more, though. (I know I'm not alone in that one.)
  22. One game at a time, of course, but the team could be either flying way too high or *gasp* low, from having played a tough VT team, so ULL might be "the trap" game everyone likes to talk about. Whatever the case, in no way would I feel the least bit comfortable thinking a blowout is in order.
  23. The only one that gave me joy was Notre Dame. I don't hate them nearly as much as everyone else seems to, but I do hate Lou Holtz blathering on about them. Ok, I hate Lou Holtz blathering on about anything. That's why he should run for whatever office he was thinking of, so he gets the hell off my television set during college football saturdays. The others mentioned, well, I can't get excited and happy when a Big 12 team loses (or even struggles like MU did). The conference reputation takes a hit for every loss or struggle.
