  1. I have seen nothing to think Riley is "the guy", but it has to happen organically. If he only wins 6 games, he should be gone because of that. But if he somehow pulls out 9 ugly wins, NU needs to keep him. Where NU failed, with Solich and Pelini, is not letting things run the course. If Solich and Pelini really were not the answers it would have showed the next seasons and given validity to the coaching changes. Instead, NU has been left reaching for a rookie coach and a .500 coach looking for a last shot. NU limits its options by setting less than ideal terms for hiring.
  2. I'd watch Nebraska play at 5:00 on a weekday. Free up my Saturdays a little.....
  3. Was the book about her faith? The article made it seem like it was a devotional book written by a pastor that had close ties to Clinton, and the only thing in the book associated to her is the foreword she wrote for him. That said, I don't disagree that she would benefit greatly by staying in the woodwork for the foreseeable future.....But in this instance, it's not on her.
  4. Yes, please! I'm using "my" computer to watch the game tonight...
  5. Trump: "you know, I asked them for a good charity. I was being very kind letting them help, by the way. And almost all of them, you know not all of them, some don't have good genes....but they told me, the smart ones anyway, they told me of a great charity. You won't hear it from me, but they all recommended the Trump foundation! Can you believe it? These guys pretend to hate me, but they know what's good. I think they're coming around, I really do. I believe that...So, at the request of the media, I'm donating 1000000 dollars to the Trump foundation where it will do tremendous things!" I hope to God I'm not right....:
  6. Matthew 6:3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
  7. I think you are misinterpreting the passage. You are not a "nazi" for focusing on happier things. People are "nazis" when they see there neighbors beaten or fired because of their color or religion and choose to focus on "happier things" rather than stand up for their "friends" and "neighbors". Being a good husband, father, teacher, and coach doesn't make you a "nazi". Being a coward and unwilling to stand up to injustice makes one a "nazi". Just my interpretation of it. edit: some may question my putting "nazi" in quotations. Let me explain: no matter how vile the current alt right, neo-nazi, and KKK people are, they have yet to accomplish the horror and evil that happened in WWII. I don't want to give our current douche bags the "honor" of sharing that title because they will never come f'ing close as long as America has a soul!
  8. I'm in West Omaha area so not in "totality", but I think we are somewhere around 98% (I'm just estimating from charts I've seen)
  9. ACT question of the day: "Kendrick Lamar is to BlitzFirst as the eclipse is to ________________" a. Garn b. Garn c. Garn d. All of the above
  10. I think it's awesome they went. I'm just sincerely curious as to how the logistics worked, I'm not trying to rain on the parade. Again, I'm sure it is legal. I'm GLAD it is legal. I'm just curious as to "why" it is legal. Haven't seen an explanation anywhere.
  11. I think it is awesome they went, and it looked like the players really appreciated it. I'm just curious how it works. How is it okay to do this as a team, but not get supplemental text books? It's obviously not against NCAA rules, at least I would assume the consultants on staff would check before doing something like this. I'm just curious how this is different.
  12. How does an "unnamed coached" purchase tickets for an "unidentified" team to attend the concert of a "certain" artist, when he isn't even able to buy them a book?

I'm really confused about how the NCAA works.....

^^^ I used to be.  I agree, I need to change my name.  Getting older is making me cynical...

  13. My wife and I just took the quiz together. I knew a couple of the Trump Tweets for sure but there were several that I wasn't sure of so I read them aloud to my wife. She gave Kim credit for the better vocabulary responses and the "short and simple" responses to Trump. She went 4/4....
  14. I would love a quarter-final round. I have yet to watch a semi-final game because they have been scheduled around in-law family gatherings or vacations. It hasn't been worth the fight or even possible to watch them without removing myself from "family" events. Although I did get to see some of the Washington vs. Alabama on a treadmill at a hotel gym (with no sound and a pixelated signal) Bottom line: my family gatherings are filled by a bunch of fun-haters and I would like more opportunities to watch football at a time that works for me. (edit: To be fair they also call me a "fun-hater" because I'd rather sit in the room and watch a game that doesn't include the Huskers than go out and enjoy the slopes of Colorado.)
  15. ^^^I would just like to go on the record and say "not it". Just in case.....
  16. As mad as those two seem to be, I wonder if they even like sports...
  17. Yes, because liberals hate safety nets that allow people to fail. And they also generally hate policies that help less fortunate people around the world.....
  18. I've been thinking about this for a while, and it is absolutely infuriating me. Let's play along, just for a moment, and assume it was "staged by the left." Does that make it less horrible for the people attending worship? Does that mean it never happened? Does that make anyone safer? These people have basically said, "we don't care". Hell, they have made it obvious that they don't even care enough to say "we don't care"....
  19. Um...no. I'd rather Diaco cut his teeth as a head coach at another mid-major before seeing him take the reigns of our program as a HC. Hopefully without trying to concoct another crappy trophy game where the prize gets eschewed by the winning side. Well, that's embarrassing. I hadn't heard of the "Civil Conflict"; I guess for good reason!
  20. ^^^^Yes, it is the Husker commentator Jim Rose.
  21. According to Jim Rose, North Koreans are all miserable and would welcome the United States "turning their country into a sand trap" putting them out of their misery. It amazes me that people like this not only exist, but have a megaphone via 1100AM in Omaha. The sad thing is, the other people chuckled and said, "you're probably right."
