  1. That's when I know Nebraska is "back".
  2. Other than the coordinators, the only other names I recognize is Buddy Wyatt & Stamn. http://kansas.scout.com/2/935170.html
  3. I suspect that alot of NFL Draft eleigible players will thnk long and hard about entering the 2010 NFL Draft considering the potential labor war that is brewing and the possiblity of NFL rookie salaries being bought under control.
  4. Bo doesn't appear to be a coach hung up on salary and the arms race that is college football salary. I'd rather have Bo be underpaid just a tad and continually play for Big 12 Conference Championships instead of a coach like Kirk Ferentz who makes Bob Stoops like money and doesn't have an out right conference championship to show for his efforts.
  5. It's on this afternoon at 12pm on FSN Midwest. I've had my DVR set to record it all year.
  6. I just have a hard time believing any of this, especially in this day and age of helicopter parents and with all of the spotlight that has been on the NFL and concussions there's no way a coach is going to rush a 18-20 year old kid back too soon from a concussion. In this day and age, you look at a kid the wrong way and they're going to go crying to Mommy & Daddy. Leach might be guilty of bad judgement, but with the kid's daddy being a high profile ESPN CFB announcer, sadly i'm sure the $hit is going to hit the fan. Found this little nugget last night regarding Tebow's recovery from a concussion: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/gator_claus...ion-remain.html
  7. The Friday prior to the Texas Tech game.
  8. Perhaps the coaching staff just flat out quit saying "if you committ to us early (like both Gabberts did), then we won't recurit another QB or whatever posistion for this class. Back to the orginal post in this thread, if this is how Bo wants to run his program, more power to him. Just more "black & white", either you're committed to be a Husker, or you're not and in Bo's eyes, if you take other official visits after verbaling to Nebraska, well don't let the door hit you on the way out.
  9. Cann't compare the two. The previous staff did squat for coaching and player development.
  10. Not a chance. He is not the type to be scared by competition. Agreed. Nebraska needed a RB in this class.
  11. That's a new one that I haven't heard of .
  12. If and/or when Frost would ever return to Lincoln as an assistant, I'd rather see him pick up some additional years as an offensive assistant ahead of time as prior to this year, all of his coaching experience as been on the defensive side of the ball.
  13. That's why Joe Ganz is joining the staff as a "volunteer assistant"
  14. I don't see either one listed in the link below. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SP...tclid=204842746
  15. Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't this already being done? I thought the MNC game was billed as "The BCS Championship (or Title) Game"?
  16. Agreed. Everything i've read about Martinez has been nothing but positive.

    2010

The entire non-conference schedule, with the exception of Washington, is worse than the Sun Belt tour this year. 2011 will be a bit more competitive with Fresno, Washington & Wyoming consecutively. Jamrog has done a good job with upgrading the non-conference schedule and making it much more TV friendly. Yes, I know Nebraska keeps all of the PPV money, but man, it gets old shelling out $30.00 to watch 3 of the 4 non-conference games that aren't even in HD.
  19. We all have them, here's mine: 2 lbs hamburger tomato juice (you could subsititue it with Bloody Mary mix) 2 cans chilli beans 2 cans diced tomatoes with green chillies (I use mild, could use hotter green chillies) 2 cans diced tomatoes with onions and green peppers 1 can corn (drained and optional) 1 package hidden valley ranch dip mix 1 package taco mix tobassco sauce (I just wing it here) fry up the 'burger in a pot, add the the other ingreidents, and let simmer on low for as long as you'd like.. Optional toppings: shreeded cheese sour cream My wife and kid won't eat, so it makes several days worth of lunch for work and if you want to go old school and have a classic school lunch, I guess you could bake some cinamonn rolls.

  21. It sounded like an amazing sales pitch according to the Rivals report. Cooper said how NU is the only school that sent so many coaches and that really stood out to him. He said his favorite part was hearing about all of the amazing safeties that Bo has coached up in his career. He said that they told him he could be part of something special that they're building at NU and he could come in and help right away. He also said that his parents were there for the in-home visit and both really liked the coaches and felt that they could trust them. He said that he's still planning on visiting Notre Dame, maybe this weekend. He still lists all four schools "pretty much even" at this point, though recruits almost always say that until the end. It sounded like a phenomenal in-home visit, but I think Notre Dame could be a real wild card here, especially considering he still has to visit South Bend. At least it won't be for a game day weekend experience. He'll just have to use his imagination. Thanks for the recap. If you're a defensive player, with the defensive coaches that Nebraska has, why in the world wouldn't you want to come to Nebraska?

    O-line

I'm by no means the world's biggest Cotton fan, but we all seem to think there's some talent waiting in the wings on the O-line next year and these comments from Watson seem to back that up and with Rodriguez coming aboard in 2010 and Moore in 2011, it won't take long for "The Pipeline" to be reestablished.
  23. Probably won't know anything until spring practice and that's even if he's cleared to practice by then.
  24. Good point on Slauson. Like all of the verbals, ask me in 4-5 years how things went for the kid.
  25. In the Des Moines area, ESPN Gameplan is in the 530 channel range. Several years ago when I still had Mediacom, I called into Customer Service and had no problems ordering GamePlan. However, you won't need GamePlan if you are in the Des Moines area, as the Nebraska game will be on Mediacom digital channel 245.
