    It would be good in the sense that it would start a new coaching search and the Huskers would not make the mistake of hiring an old coach with a less than impressive resume. It would be bad in the sense that it would be a super lame year and NU would get closer and closer to being "that school" that used to be good.

    Not that you are wrong but I would say the opposite of this. I think you need to go when you are right out of high school. Get the full experience and enjoy it while you learn. I always felt (I could be totally wrong) that the non-traditional students didn't get the same experience. It just seemed that way but again I could be wrong.

    When will the SAT/ACT get their act together...offer the test online...grade it online...and have open testing dates. This is no the 80's and 90's anymore. I know it is not because my hair is not feathered and I don't have my jean jacket on...at the moment

    Huge difference. Now, CU might also offer more in terms of "private" money, who knows...but Mac is probably taking a long hard look at this as his winning lotto ticket.

    Oh, I imagine he will struggle big time not only winning games but in recruiting. He will be recruiting against... 1. MSU 2. Michigan 3. Illinois 4. ND 5. Indiana 6. Purdue 7. Xavier 8. Cincy That is just for the "local" recruits. He has no ties to the seedy underbelly of recruiting that is Chicago so that basically means he will get nothing from that area. I think he will/would struggle hard. Almost like he did at ISU.

      My advice...stop interviewing 8 year olds and taking what they say as fact and running with a story.

      That whole article is weird. The real reason and blame for the DQ come out in the last paragraph and only kind of as a by the way. Simple solution, make sure your paperwork is correct before turning it in.

    I think that is probably true. He is super rich...why put up with it anymore? The complaining of fans and the recruiting trips (if he does them a lot, I don't know) but still...Go enjoy life. Do some pregame shows if you are bored.

    For sure! All the "Bocuses" are gone 1. A monkey could win 9 games...7 wins are built into the schedule 2. At least there are no blowouts 3. Can't lose to Wisconsin and Iowa I guess now we are sort of starting to see the Bocuse that the schedule is going to be tough. Well...I want a coach that wins tough games. We all do. Hopefully that is Riley and hopefully he goes 10+ wins this year.

    First of all, I like that you have the stones to put records up there, most Riley fans (no clue if you are or are not) will not do that. I think that anything under 8 wins equals an axing. 5 or 6 wins and SE should just come out and apologize to all the fans. 9 wins and he keeps his job for sure and basically starts to be the Nice-Bo (which means 9 wins will keep him around for about 4 more years)

      Prior to Matta, yes. But he made it is a big time job and they have all the money in the world. Now, it very easily could slip back down to a B level job, very very quickly.

      Ohio State has so much cash that their basketball program has the ability to always be good. Thad Matta did amazing things there. 2 Final Fours, 1 Elite 8, and 2 Sweet 16's in his first 8 years there. Yes, his record the past few years wasn't great, but that was probably due to his health issues.
