  1. Agreed. I did know one girl who admitted to me that her "doctor boyfriend" (he was an undergrad who wanted to go to med school) was going to take care of her and she was just going to college "for the experience." Her family was pretty wealthy. But, to your point, she had to have been an anomaly. Most women (and most people) are going to college to learn and apply that knowledge to the work force. I would imagine it's a very small percentage that go to college planning to meet their husband… I would imagine it's a very high percentage of people that go to college hoping/thinking they might meet their significant other. There is nothing wrong with that. Looking back on it now I probably thought and hoped I would meet my wife in college… There was a girl there that I knew I wanted to get to know and would've loved to Marry… But she never talked to me.
  2. I have done pints...one time I left the pint in the car thinking I would get busted...we got in and when I realized that no one checked you I left the stadium...back to the car...got the pint...came back to the stadium.
  3. A buddy of mine was dating a sorority girl, she told him/us that some of the girls in the house would take classes that would fall in line with guys that were going into medicine or law...no clue if that is true she might have just been hacking on some of the girls I need her house. But she said that there were a few that would husband-hunt when it came to picking some classes.
  4. Yeah last year was a close call - luckly he could stop TRYING after the 6th game. Usually people save the word "trying" for somebody that hasn't done it yet and by my last count he is 2 for 2. Kinda seemed like after the 6th game there was not much more trying
  5. Nothing like sneaking in a bottle of hot 100 cinnamon schnapps on 105° day and letting it sit in your pocket all day.
  6. Who has a tailgate spot for this season?

I do. Same price but in a donor lot so they are pretty cheap.....if you dont include the donation and tickets.

  7. Agreed! Seems like a no brainer. With very little effort at all we could generate another million or so in revenue. I mean, it's not like people don't already drink alcohol on gameday anyway. This pisss me off...NU needs to get on this When TO is no longer pulling strings with the Regents, you will probably see something change. I agree...when he is dead things will change

This pisss me off...NU needs to get on this. He'll even keep it local. Let local vendors buy/rent a space...say 50k ( just a made up number, it could be 10k) to rent for the season...take up to 20 vendors (if possible)...NU keeps that money, vendors charge what they want for their beers...NU gets 10% of the sales from each vendor or NU charges 1 dollar for a 21 year older wrist band.
  9. That is a good point. It was mentioned in the article. Dang it! I never read the entire thing...just the clip you put up.
  10. Some dorks (probably teens) took stuff from my garage last night...I wish I would have caught them in the act. I would have given them such a verbal lashing and some minus 1's!

      That's obnoxious. I'm sorry.

Couldn't you just make them detassel or something? Hard labor fixes most things like this I think.

I enjoyed the labor of detasseling.

  11. I still can't believe that TA was Nebraska's best option at QB last year and the lack of development of a solid #2 was glaring once TA was hurt. And yes, I understand they didn't want to pull any redshirts. Hopefully they have a more developed QB room this season. When Riley brought in Tanner Lee, there was some thought that he might be immediately eligible in 2016. That was a long shot, but Lee was granted an extra year of eligibility for 2018. Where Riley missed the boat was not recruiting a QB in the 2015 class. I know he had just been hired, but he should have at least brought in a body who was better suited for his style of offense. Maybe he was doing the "smart" thing by saying he didn't have his QB for a full 2 years, so you can't hold those first 2 years against him (which many NU fans are giving him). Plus one million
  12. The Bridge! I love it! I can imagine a few people I know texting security during the game.
  13. This works for me! 6 wins = canning 10 wins = statue (well, a small one)
  14. I think I was in the 6th row a few years back, now I am tall (and funny and handsome) so I could see things for the most part but it really seemed like a "sitting" section, if you know what I mean.
  15. Should I buy my tickets for the Purdue game now? Or wait until they are on sale for 2.50?

I think they might be really good, soon. I just think tickets will be cheap as can be this year.

You would with a new coach and a fun offense they would be much more excited for the season this year. They also beat us last time we played there.

Ahhh yes...the epic game at Purdue...NU was lucky to even keep it close because as we have seen Purdue actually had more talent.

  16. If Riley was in year 3 of coaching...I would be more patient. With that said he has done a wonderful job recruiting.
  17. No where even close to happening. They are still selling season tickets with a hefty donation. If they ever dropped the mandatory donation these seasontickets would sell out within days. It's much closer than you think. The top 15-20 rows in north & south stadium no longer require any donation at all. That wasn't the case as recently as three years ago. Don't kid yourselves. Through no fault of Nebraska's, this streak could end, too. Way to many people around that will make sure the streak doesn't end... now when younger generations have to step up and pick up the tickets and continen consume sports differently then I can see them having trouble. Years and years away from any real threat, or continuous losing seasons and turmoil. I agree...the "streak" has probably ended a few times and then of course some big companies buy up some of the tickets. As long as their are rich donors and big companies the streak will stick around for awhile.
  18. I am starting to think that people are not underrating NU...I am starting to think that people are just rating Riley in line with where he has been most of his career. A coach trying to make bowl games. Thing is...it was "cute" at Oregon State...at NU it is sad.
  19. It sure isn't. I hope we don't find out that Riley was in fact just an average coach. If Gary Anderson wins 9 games at OSU this year...well Well WHAT? I have talked to several OSU fans and not one has said that Riley was a bad coach - most say that things had just gone stale and it was time for a change. MR is not showing any signs of being stale at NU. You seem to show signs that you want Riley to be average.... The current recruiting shows that the players see no signs of average around the NU program. Hoping that we see more success on the field this season-because that will take the recruiting to a higher level and should quiet some of the doubters!!!! Well, this is what. See, many many many Husker fans are holding on really hard to the idea that Riley worked miracles at Oregon State and that basically no one could accomplish what he accomplished there (Even though Dennis Erickson did even better) so now if Gary Anderson starts winning at Oregon State it will sort of destroy the thing that many Husker fans are holding near and dear. So for the most part, us Husker fans do not want to see Gary Anderson turn Oregon State into a consistent 9 win team. Now...if Riley starts winning here and winning big then no one will care at all what Anderson does.
  20. It will be interesting. If a lot of these guys are right and the team sucks I guess it means the Riley experiment is over. If the team does great, we get to do a lot of chest beating.

Are you saying we're going to have a repeat of the 2015 game and I need to drink heavily to forget it?
