  1. Sometimes guys have really odd offer lists, like you will see some top 25 guys with only 12 offers. College BB recruiting isn't the same as CFB recruiting; teams tend to stop recruiting kids once intentions and commitments have been made. Yep, they seem to honor it a bit more.
  2. Sometimes guys have really odd offer lists, like you will see some top 25 guys with only 12 offers. I got ya. Yea I usually don't really look at those guys cause I really don't give a squak about the dukes, NC's, Kansas etc... and those schools seem to be the only ones who get those players. I was just looking though and thinking why not? Crazier things have happened. I don't understand how Missouri lands the number 1 recruit in the nation and Alabama gets a top ten recruit, so why not at least throw the offer on the table when we have 2 scholarships available. Butbyew typically don't pay much attention to them. Missouri got their guy because his dad was on the staff at Washington and now he's on the staff at Mizzou Bama probably paid a lot of $$$$$$ for their guy Bama has a HC with major NBA ties...it was a great hire for them when it comes to recruiting. Holy sh#t. I forgot Avery Johnson was their coach So did I!

  4. Any of you play golf in high school? Those practices had to be a blast, right?

I went out for golf because I was told as long as I was in an activity I didn't have to get a job. I had no intention of trying to qualify for a meet so I just pretty much walked the course and turned in a bogus score card high enough that I was safe from qualifying.

  6. why do you say that? Because Riley's not the a**hole Pelini was. If Riley had identical records to Pelini he would never be fired as long as SE is in charge. Yep...and if Riley keeps going 9-4 he will stay here until he wants to retire. And because he is a nice guy, fans will still think Riley has the program trending upward. I call BS on that. The fans got tired of going 9-4 under Bo. What was once praise for a fiery coach became an excuse to lynch him. If Riley can't get us over the 4 loss hump in say 5-6 years, nice guy won't matter. It will be the excise to lynch him too. I guess I could see where fans all of a sudden pretend that they don't want "nice" anymore...you know what I mean?

  8. Mark Smith is the best of the PG's still not committed. NU made a run at him but he had no interest.
  9. The game was sort of boring to watch but as usual Lincoln was rocking!
  10. Miles is not going to get better at coaching...he is the coach that he is. He has been a HC for like 15 years. So he has to get better talent...which he has done at NU...and still failed...soooooooooo
  11. MattyIce...you are the best at making your point about your love for Miles without being a jerk about it, that is not easy to accomplish. I think you have a lot of good points, I don't think Miles will be that much better this season but you never know. I don't think any of the freshmen will "help" all that much but most freshmen really don't help that much unless they are just studs.
  12. So they will bet better next season? I agree
  13. I think China would step in and tell NK to settle the f#*k China is about trade and business.
  14. So if Miles coached in the Big 12 the last 5 years he would be undefeated?
  15. So...how many points per game? I'm going to guess4.0 ppg 4.2 rpg 1.6 bpg in 13-17 minutes of action. Rebounds so high...
  16. Wow...top 30 players have a hard time contributing to any type of large extent. "Combo" guards (especially ones that are not a PG first) are not expected to do much at all as true freshman. If the new recruit is anything over 8 ppg consider it a huge bonus.
  17. Yes, there will be more screen plays called, but every report I saw said that the team and o-line really struggled in the screen game. I agree that focusing on an arbitrary number for the run game production isn't the best thing to do, but I don't think it's far-fetched to believe that the team needs to be able to run the ball successfully to have a successful season. If the success of the offense depends too much on the right arm of Tanner Lee, the offense may not be as successful as we would like. It is no different than the offense being dependent on TA being effective running the ball. As we saw after he was hurt he was not worth a crap because he couldn't move and he couldn't throw the ball so that really hurt the production. Yes, you are correct. But that's the exact point that Sam is trying to make. If the team can't run the ball effectively using the RB's (or WR in jet sweep) than the offense could struggle. If the team can only average 125 YPG running, it puts a lot of pressure on Lee to be "great". Sure possibly, but it is possible that a good passing game can open up the run. Throwing the ball at a 65% clip is going to loosen up the defense and allow for more running lanes. Teams dared Nebraska to throw last year, because they were only a 50% passing team. They loaded the box and dared TA to beat them with his arm which he couldn't do. I don't buy the premise of the passing game opening up the run. Also, the QB run game takes away a defender to stop the RB run game, just like a quality passing game does. There is no sense going around and around on this. We each have our opinions. Sam has questions and concerns about the offense, and I think they are viable concerns. I think a lot of fans are saying "The offense will be fine with a new QB" and I don't think it's that easy to say. Well you should buy the premise the pass can open up the run because alot of successful offenses were built on that premise Not really, almost all coaches would rather hand the ball off all game if they could get 5-6 yards a carry. Most pass a lot becuase they can't run a lot. Coaches want to win and they want to win with the easiest and safest method possible. Actually 100% of coaches would run the ball EVERY play if it worked - because it is the play that has the least amount of risk. However this has nothing to do with the post that you are replying to. that post stated that an effective passing game opens up the run - which is 100% true. Every coach dreams of having 5 lineman that can laugh at the defense saying they are going to run the ball and do it with ease - currently 0% of the teams in the nation are in that position. If you don't have the strength to do that then taking some risk is required. it does

Coaches want to win and they want to win with the easiest and safest method possible.Yes the great Bill Walsh was an idiotYeah...they never ran the ball. But like I said they want to win the easiest way possible and Montana to Rice is pretty easy.Never ran the ball? Learn your history man in '87 Bill's second to last year they ran the ball nearly 100 more times than they attempted to pass it that season. The pass can set up the run and if you try and argue otherwise I will bury you with stats from successful offenses that did just that. That was me being sarcastic. They ran the ball a ton. Riley will not be able too.You can bury me if you want...I don't care and neither do you. It's a message boardAt least you're not still calling it a "post board". Dang it! Did I call it that?
  19. Wait...the QB ran???? And when he was able to run the passing game got better?
