  1. Matt Vrzal on the radio yesterday said that "Boyd is a bit of a sandbagger and 1.5 years is actually more like 9 months." Meaning that by the start of the season this should be mute/moot/silent/donzo
  2. Yep But even worse, they threw the players under the bus in order to "cover their backsides". And even worse than that... and the part I cant even hardly think about... is they appear to have used Boyds reputation and standing... the one guy who really does have a great reputation in the program... in their attempt to "cover their backsides". I really feel bad for Boyd. If this had only been about performance testing and making those numbers public again then it wouldn't have been a problem. Virtually everyone agrees that's a good thing. But when they injected the other needless and inflammatory stuff about needing to recruit "more talented" players and the stuff about the current players needing too much developing and coaching... in order to "cover their backsides for a bad year"... that's when the public relations scheme crashed in a ball of flames. Anytime you and your ilk don't like the message, you call the messenger a liar. Its BS and its getting old. You do realize that the "messenger" said this a year ago... So... what were you saying about lying again? So he realied he was wrong, big f'ing deal. That does not make him a liar. I have no doubt the Pelini fortress was hard to see inside. Think you can find that mountain after tripping over the mole hole? Was SE wrong about anything else?
  3. Wait...I thought kids committed to the school not the coach...
  4. Lets help the RiledUppers start this off... 1. Michigan always had good recruits...
  5. Exactly, the line needs rebuilt in the weight room and on the practice field, as well as the recruiting trail. Last year they had a 3star RB and seemed to do pretty darn well. yup, in spite of the fact he had no blocking. Hell of a football player. He had some "want to" unlike several of his teammates So you freely admit that he did it "all on his own" correct?
  6. That's fine he only has to compete for playing time against Hammond. Ha! It is the perfect fit!

  8. I have predicted, many times, 15-25 rated recruiting class. I am not read to back off of that just yet but these next 10 days could be very telling, either way. RADAR, your thoughts?

I was not being sarcastic, 15-25 is what I still think can happen.

I was excited this summer and fall when kids were committing about every 2 weeks. Now since the season we have struggled a bit. There are still some good ones on the list but they better start committing before long. I too was hoping for 15-25 but now I suspect it will be 20-30. A win in the bowl would help create momentum.

I suppose a bowl win could help.

  9. He was a huge recruit...it turns out he did not really like competition.
  10. This is Tim's 4th year, so why are the smallest team? Basketball is the easiest sport to turn a program around. Really! Tell me how? Is "coach better" an acceptable answer? Hey, look, I thought they would win 12 games in conference this year...Also, I am not an NU hoops fan I am an Illini Hoops fan and John Groce is in year four and worse than Miles... Sometimes the answer is really that simple, "Coach better". Better substitution patterns, better scouting, betting starting line ups with the players you have on your team.
  11. Yep. Mile's seat needs to be warm (if it isn't already). The worst thing that happened to Miles...was that stretch run that lucked him into the dance... #MilesHighClub
  12. I have been very very high on the recruiting of this staff but it seems like they might have hit that "wall". I think that right now they are "in" on a lot of big names but it seems like if they call and another school class...the recruit is returning the call to the "other school" first. I am not sure what has happened but where I was thinking/expecting a top 15-20 class I am starting to second guess that a bit.
  13. Just a guess...but it is the holidays and things really slow down with the hiring process...it is probably all "done" and you are getting the job but it will probably just be delayed.. I did an interview with 6 people once...questions being thrown at me from all over...got the job...turned it down...big mistake by me
  14. How do you know they are fantastic? How do you know they suck?
  15. Agreed...we are lucky to have Langs. Still a bit shocked that CFL team did not pony up more to try and get him.
  16. Wow, did Munson really say that? Is it say to say that NU is getting "Munsoned" in recruiting?
  17. This is almost NEVER the kids idea...it is almost always the high schools idea...it is a big big big deal to get a full ride to any school...these kids worked their asses off and this is a celebration for them, family, coaches and school. You ever been to a graduation party? A party for a friend that got a great new job? This is what it is like..
  18. I really think the defense will be much improved next year.
  19. Well...I bet on college volleyball last night. Good lord.

I've been very up and down in CFB betting this year. Too many close games this year, where it comes down to one point for the spread. My saving grace has been the NFL haha.

Well, I won the bet...but it is just a new low! ha

  20. That is interesting! I read an article a few years back about Will Smith (The Actor)...I guess him and his agent sat down and went over every "summer blockbuster" for like the previous 10 years...they combed through them all and found out the main things that they all had in common and they decided that those and only those movies would be the kinds that he would make...I am not a huge Will Smith fan but it seems like his research has paid off...Seems like Sabans has too
