  1. Daaaaaamn that really sucks for him.
  2. I might have to see the remake just so I have an excuse to watch Mary Elizabeth Winstead I'm a little disappointed in the fact that they feel they need to remake this movie. This is one of the 5 best horror movies ever made Me too. It may be my favorite. If it was released today, it would still scare the crap out of people.
  3. I'm going to try to get my point across without jumping down your throat: It's really lame to disregard everything someone says just because you think they're wrong on one or even several issues.
  4. That's eerie. It's like you read my mind.
  5. I don't think there was any magical progression involved. This is what Taylor has been all along. He just (quote)needs to make better decisions(unquote). That, and his coaches need to put him in a better position to succeed. Done and done as far as OSU is concerned, Beck's playcalling in the Ohio State game helped him make better decisions. Now they just need to keep doing it (obviously easier said than done). He's still the same guy with the trbl passing mechanics. And he probably won't be able to stand in the pocket and pick apart secondaries anytime ever. But we don't need him to. If the coaches acknowledge what his weaknesses are and let him do what he does best, then he can be as dangerous as any QB in the nation. This is all true about Beck's playcalling. Taylor started out 10/10 passing, and he didn't throw a pass more than 15 yards downfield. It only took us, what? 17 games into his career to figure out that we shouldn't have him pushing the ball downfield umpteen times a game? The kid isn't a long-ball passer. He's no Jammal Lord. He's got the mechanics of a short-throw passer, and we finally utilized those mechanics properly. Not only did Taylor grow this game (making several check-downs and exhibiting more patience in the pocket) but our OC also showed improvement. Both need to continue to grow, though. This is no time for back-patting. That's the fans' job. One thing Taylor still has to get a handle on (no pun intended) is his ball security. I think he put it on the carpet a couple more times last week. Both were after the whistle blew, but it's gotta stop. All in all he's progressing. He's still a sophomore, still learning a new(ish) system. I am cautiously optimistic about the future with him. And for all of you eating crow, don't take too much yet. There's a lot of football yet to play, and we haven't completely turned the corner with Taylor yet. We're peeking around that corner, though. Baby steps. This is where we as fans get too high and low. When a guy has a bad game it's all RABBLE RABBLE, pitchforks, and torches. When the same guy has a good game we him on a pedestal. And it's magnified 10x with the quarterback position.

  7. Is it really that hard to understand? Dozens of people here. Dozens of people commenting on his stories. Dozens of people calling in to radio shows, writing emails, etc. All denouncing the article as unnecessary. You can add Nebraska vollyball coach John Cook to that list. I wish I could find a transcript from his radio interview last night. It's was nice to get perspective on it from another coach.
  8. Why would he? I think you missed the point of the story. He was "bashing" Brown for blatantly doing something he agreed he wouldn't do. If Nebula's story is true, then yeah, it was kind of a d*ck move on Brown's part. He wasn't bashing Brown for being religious, the story took place at his mom's church. Unless... he was bashing his mom too. Edit: and yes thank you Landlord for sharing. Even though I don't agree with them I'd much rather they spend their time "sharing the gospel" than getting into trouble and other general knuckleheadedness.
  9. Our no huddle coupled with lots of substituting along the offensive line absolutely wears down defenses. I've seen it all year, and we keep getting better at it. If the defense can get their shtuff together, we'll be a problem for any team we play.
  10. I'm sure you get tired of hearing this irieboy, but... it's too small.
  11. Meh, Huskerboard is vastly more entertaining than the newspapers. I don't say this enough, but I love you guys. <3
  12. You're really Bill Snyder, aren't you? You mean the Bill Snyder that's 5-0... Yes that Bill Snyder. I admire that old coot.
  13. Oh man I missed this. This is great: http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/55046-you-know-you-are-a-virgin-when/page__pid__834910#entry834910
  14. Because the game is over. Be fiery and passionate during the game, but after, you have to be a civilized human being. Being fiery and passionate doesn't make someone uncivilized. It's hardly "for no reason" in the case of Dirk constantly trying to get a reaction out of him. Outside of sports and work it does. Maybe Im just a big fan on treating people with respect, I don't know. I believe respect is earned and not ironically handed out like lollipops at the dentist office. I also believe making moutains out of molehills is childish. He has improved his demeanor with the local media a great deal. I give him mad props for growing as a person and a coach. The only time it seems to be an issue these days is when Dirk gets the reaction he's aiming to get. In fact it's the only reason we're having this discussion right now.

  16. It's almost comical how much he gets held and the degree in which he gets held. His shoulder pads are ridiculously contorted after most plays. Bo needs to politely tell the refs to keep an eye on it pregame, then not mention it again.
  17. Bo and Greg Sharpe have really good interviews all the time (not so much on the Bo Pelini show but the coaches' show on Sports Nightly). Mostly because Greg doesn't intentionally try to get a reaction then lambaste him for reacting.
  18. Interesting notion. I hope they keep building on it, and getting better. Looooved what I saw with the diamond formation. So much potential with that.
  19. Really? Pretty much every college basketball fan knows of Creighton.
  20. Yes. Nebraska woulda won 54 - 51 in triple overtime.
  21. Exactly this. He's too stubborn to use a spy. I remember him saying "no, we don't do that, we're just going to run our defense" when asked if we were going to put a spy on Tyrod Taylor. It may have worked that time, but it's exactly why Denard Robinson is going to run all over us. Because he's guaranteed to run all over us. I'm glad that you know that already. If Robinson is healthy, we play defense the way we have been, and we refuse to spy him, then yeah it's about as close to a gaurantee you're going to get in sports. Well while you're gazing into your crystal ball of college football, mind telling me who's going to win the heisman and the national title? I'd like to make some money on it. It's not a wild prediction. It's a educated guess. There's evidence that Nebraska has had recent struggles with mobile quarterbacks, and lots of evidence. There's evidence Bo doesn't believe in putting a spy on quarterbacks, and lots of evidence (he's even said as much). There's evidence we've played poor defense this season and have a lot of trouble tackling, and lots of evidence. There's evidence Robinson is one of, if not the best running QB in all of college football, and lots of evidence. Sure there's always the slight chance we won't struggle against a healthy Shoelace, but all the evidence points in the other direction. The biggest variable is his health. If he's not healthy that obviously changes everything. Here's another educated guess: Minnesota is not going to win the national title. No crystal ball required.
