  1. Obviously he was trying to knock him out of the game so he could get his hands on McCoy again.
  2. IMHO the man is an iconic fool. I respect anybody for having the success he has had in life, but beyond that I can't stand the man. It isn't bad for an analyst/host to have a varying opinion on a topic, but he is brutish and arrogant when he gives an opinion, similar to Mark May but not quite as bad. Its not that much of a reach. I like the call. Better than Alabama vs. Ohio State. SO BORING of a call. Go out on a limb and make a prediction no one else is making. Making a bold prediction for the sake of making a bold prediction is kinda ridiculous. You should believe your pick is going to happen.
  3. Exactly. I seem to remember people doubting that Ganz could possibly be pushing Keller in 2007, and we all know how that turned out. (I have to take this opportunity to say I didn't doubt Ganz. In fact I was high on Ganz from the get go, and got really strange looks from people when I would go nuts for Joey at spring games prior to 2007.)
  4. No neck and narrow shoulders doesn't help. He looks like a tall midget.

  5. I'm not sure I understand that logic. Unless I forgot math, 50% of two years would be more than 80% of one year.
  6. My sister AND my cousin have their weddings scheduled for the (tentative?) date of the Fresno State game next year. I'm going to drag my feet as much as possible, because I don't think cousins are close enough relation for it to be unforgivable, and I don't like my sister's fiance (I'm a Jets fan, he's a Dolphins fan). Or maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be rescheduled to a Thursday game or something. I joined a band in 2006, under the stipulation that we never play gigs when Nebraska was playing. We played one after the Texas A & M game, but I told them I wouldn't help them set up because I had to watch the game. We did however play a gig during the Missouri game... with the game projected on the wall behind us. Seems like the solution for the weddings
  7. The thing I've never understood about that call is, aren't penalties unreviewable? And touching the ball before it goes ten yards is a penalty, so wouldn't that make it unreviewable? Not that it matters, since we know that the refs can just make up rules about what's reviewable and what's not, haha. One that I didn't see mentioned, and it didn't really matter because we won the game, but in 2005 against Baylor there was a fumble into the endzone and Daniel Bullocks recovered it, then was piled on, then came out of the pile with the ball. They ruled that he had recovered it, then instant replay overturned it, without evidence of it ever being in anyone else's hands.
  8. I'm looking for tickets to the Washington game. Preferably 4, but 2 would suffice.
  9. Bobby Raines: Muggsy Bogues: ----------------------------------------------------------------- Derrius Brooks: Julius Campbell (from 'Remember The Titans'): ----------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew Pettijohn: A 12 year-old: insert random 12 year old picture here. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Austin Baker: Cody Green:
  10. So "the heartbeat of Husker nation" is supposed to be included?
  11. Fixed. I'd have to agree with Craig and Green being up there. I didn't get to experience a lot of the older guys, but Shields, Fryar, Neil Smith, Rathman and Wistrom are names that I'd have no arguments against either.
  12. Congrats on landing Starling from a Buckeye fan. Looks like he had a pretty good offer sheet(incl. ALA and ND). What type of offense has Nebraska been running since Bo took over. Is there any one game I should watch to get a sense of the type of offensive identity we should be expecting from the Huskers in 2011 and 2012? I'd say watch the Arizona game from last year. That's what Shawn Watson has been wanting to do, but with injuries and whatnot last year he and Bo held the reins a little bit. What with rest and players getting healthy, they could let loose more in the bowl game, so that one should be indicative of where our offense is heading.
  13. I think it'd be a bit overkill to have 5 teams from one state in the same conference. Hell, might as well throw in SMU, TCU, UTEP, North Texas, and Rice while they're at it. Then they could be Big Texas + 6
  14. Considering over half those schools are FCS I'm gonna say that's highly unlikely and you missed the sarcasm.
  15. You're just saying that so I don't look crazy. I actually remember reading that somewhere too. Not sure where though.
  16. I used to listen to the radio while watching the game on tv, but Janet and Justin f'd that all up for us . its a lil more effort than one should have to go through to do so, but with my DVR i can stop the game as needed to make the radio broadcast sync up. There seems to be just as big of cushion on the radio side, they just time it out differently with breaks and stuff. It seems to work good enough for me, and I rarely listen to the TV broadcasts. WHY HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS!!!??? Thanks for the post! I'm not quite sure how that would work since the radio is already ahead of the tv, slowing down the tv would just make it worse.
  17. Man I can't agree with you more. It drove me nuts whenever they'd have a guest on there and he would interrupt them to add his little anecdote that served no purpose other than for him to bring up his playing days. While I respect him as a former Husker, as an analyst/host he was far from great.
  18. Nice call...that would likely happen if Riley leaves for USC. Mike Leach would surely love to compete against the Oregon Nike Ducks...Oregon is known as where all the fast offensive skill players go to spread it out on offense...Leach would certainly draw some players away with potentially an even higher powered offense. Being an Oregon State fan, I'd hate it if they lost Mike Riley. Of course, I've always liked Mike Leach's personality, so I could live with it if he was hired. I like Riley a lot better though.
  19. I wore the same shirt for every game since the Missouri game in 1997, and in 2007 before the USC game, I met Stewart Mandel and he said you can definitely tell I've wore it a lot. But after that season I decided it was time to retire the shirt and got a new one. Then after the Iowa State game this year I realized I still had the same game day hat as I did in 2007, so I went and bought a new one. Voila, we were winning again. I also have to wear my black and red K-swiss shoes on game days. I tried wearing my Husker slippers during the Texas and Colorado games, and we lost and gave up the most yards all season, so I went back to the shoes. Also every game that I went to another couple's house to watch the game this year we lost. So I told my wife, there's no way in hell we're going to watch a game there next year.
  20. Huskers: 24 Wildcats: 13 Rushing = 118 yards Passing = 101 yards
  21. I actually picked Wyoming to win. But the Middle Tennesse game bit me in the ass.
  22. great hip hop? Oxymoron? Like Jumbo Shrimp? Naval Intelligence? I Still remember when some of my lamer friends thought Disco was "Neat". May you all live long enough to be really really embarrassed by your tastes in music. This video needs some Powerman 5000! ... Great Depression free trade peacekeeper missile sweet tart crash landing now then butt head sweet sorrow student teacher silent scream taped live alone together good grief tight slacks living dead near miss light tanks old news hot chilli criminal justice peace force Wait Wait Wait -- I hope this guy is being sarcastic because he said Powerman 5000.... they weren't even a 1 hit wonder! They were a band akin to slipknot -- all visuals no substance. That's quite possibly the funniest quote I've ever heard if it was stated as fact.... HAHAHAHA POWERMAN 5000! We'd need a second song to mix, so who should that be -- Rob Zombie? Of course Rob Zombie. Reunite the brothers. As for oxymorons how could you forget Microsoft Works?
