  1. I wasn't trying to by that guy who acts like I see something nobody else noticed. My point was more on the difference between elite quickness and elite speed. Its cool that he is going to work on it, but his other intangibles are all just as important and one could argue more. oh, and stop yelling at me!
  2. Agree. Wandale is elite in his quickness and is fast, but not elite track speed. On the other side of the coin elite track speed does't always equal the same quickness Wandale has. If he ran a 4.2 nobody would have caught him on the second breakaway run he had against Northwestern. Before someone bashes me about Wandale, I love this guy. He is football player!
  3. So just to clarify, you were expecting me to translate this response from your original? ORIGINAL "Martinez would not have won the game if in. He is not a difference maker!" Interesting.... Ok, I'll bite. see below Martinez is not the same this year. Agree He has looked desire less or injured all season. Agree Something is amiss. Again, agree He’s just not the same guy we had last year. Agree, but he broke almost every freshman record for a QB. What we saw from a fan standpoint was something we have never seen at Nebraska, a passing and running phenom. Pretty much a different maker. I’ve seen many difference makers at NU over the last 50 years, he isn’t one this year. You got me there, I only have 40 years. Difference makers carry a team on their back. Possibly, but not when there offensive line is young, inexperienced and playing poorly. Additionally, the lose of a 1000 Yard Rusher and Receiver didn't help things. see Wan’Dal Love him
  4. Bro, did you watch any games last year? I love what Vedral did, and Martinez is struggling, but that statement is whack.
  5. Yes, I think that Nebraska recruited some average players and are struggling with developing them. I hear what you are saying, but I think we need to see how next years line looks. No rational person is going to argue about how s#!tty our o-line coaching has been over the last 10+ years. It sucks that he is at tackle, don't you think the coaches would move him if they could? He is painful to watch. Totally disagree with this statement. Nebraska had a nice batch of linemen in last years recruiting class and this year isn't looking to bad so far. I am pretty sure 2019 did and 2020 lineman's class will outrank iowa state, iowa's and wisconsin's. Probably not Oklahoma, nobody on your list is remotely close to Oklahoma's recruiting. Not sure what you are getting at here. Are you stating that we shouldn't complain about our oline, but our coaches are inept to getting them better? I think everyone has a right to state our oline is very average at this time. I do think next year, some of these guys may get beat out by some of our redshirts from 2019. We do have one 2020 tackle that may have a chance to crack the starting lineup. Of course with all that being said, maybe I am totally wrong about all of it.
  6. whack 1. adj; something in bad taste or is otherwise unappealing. 2. verb; to murder someone. 3. verb; to masturbate. 1. Yo Freddy, turn off the country music. That s#!t is whack. 2. Freddy, turn off that f#&%in' country music before I go and whack ya. 3. Freddy, I said turn off the country music, I didn't say pull your johnson out and start whackin' it. The f#&%?
  7. I know this has been stated many times, but until our O and D lines get up to snuff everything else is going to suffer. Even though this isn't the only problem, lets talk talent on the lines for next year. OLine-?- everybody is back correct? Additionally, I am hoping some can be beat out by redshirts, because I don't see it happening for some of the guys. DLine?- we loose all the starting DLine don't we? I really thought we would be better, but our line doesn't look or move anything like Ohio States, Penn States, hell, most of the big ten dlines.
  8. Just demoralizing. From a player standpoint its so frustrating to watch Ohio State just keep getting NFL Talent, and we have to kill ourselves to get half of the talent they just acquire without much of an effort.
  9. Anytime you can work in a Fletch reference you will get points from me, but I still side with Landlord on this issue.
  10. I'm probably going to catch some s#!t for typing this, but I kinda agree with what Landlord is saying. I don't think he is stating not to do it, just that it was odd how it transpired. This potentially puts Gabriel in a awkward position in which she is going to have to talk about this tragedy instead of walking to the stage all pumped up talking about college football. I just don't think this is the format that should be used to honor the passing of a parent of one of our players.
  11. I follow recruiting a little, I think the consensus was if he was healthy in high school, we probably don't get him. I saw some clips of him running drills earlier in the year and it just looked different from all our other backs. It appears he could be special, and by special I mean Washington and Wandale special. Obviously they are different kinds of players, but nobody here is going to say those guys are not on a different level. If I am wrong about Mills staying our main big back, I am totally fine with that. I love all these players and want to see them succeed.
  12. Probably could have explained that better. Lets focus on the eye test, how many times has Mills ran directly into the back of an offensive linemen, or tried to just run over a guy vs making one move. I am rooting for him, he seems like a good guy and you can tell he wants to do well. This much talent is a great problem to have.
  13. I love talking running backs. I couldn't agree more with you. I watched Thomkins running drills early in the year and was like, yup thats it, that's the running style we are looking for. Super balanced, with great lateral ability and size. Mills is a wild card here, if he could just run with a little more patience and have just one side move he would be getting 5 yards a pop. Qzigbo was so good at that. Here is my humble opinion of how it breaks out next year. 1A. Thomkins- workhorse 1B. Washington - hybrid- slot/rb (needs to be on the field 80% of the time, somewhere) 2. Wandale - hybrid slot/rb- more often than not slot (needs to be on the field 80% of the time, somewhere) 3A. Rahmir - he may surprise us and jump up, but I think Thomkins is better rb, not faster, just a better rb 3B. Mills - we know he is tough, maybe he makes the adjustments and rises back up to the top 4. everybody else- haven't had a chance to study the new guys.
  14. I think you can add blocking ability to the equation. I so miss watching Stanley Morgan play.
  15. I had a very thoughtful and respectful thread with Capo regarding the mindset of the believers that Maurice should be suspended. My goal was to see if I/we could have a conversation, with the side in which I don't agree with, but respectfully try to bring us back together by showing we can disagree but move forward. I am very disappointed that you remove that.
  16. I'm not trying to start a heated debate on this, I am totally fine with JD returning punts. My humble opinion is that Wan'Dale has a different kind of running skill that would benefit a punt returner.
  17. I don't disagree with you. With that being said, seeing what kind of athlete Wan'Dale is, I would be shocked if the kid wasn't able to excel at returning punts.
  18. Does anyone else feel that Wan'Dale should be returning punts? I love JD, but he doesn't have the same violent side step or the same explosiveness that Wan'Dale has. Just to clarify, I love me some JD, he is a smooth athlete, but Wan'Dale is freaky in space.
  19. I would add, loosing Ozigbo and Morgan were just as big. Morgan was such a great leader, I really miss watching him play.
  20. Can someone hard code the system to not allow me to click on this thread?
