  1. They were also head to their (by far) lowest statistical outputs of the season. I don't know anything about Indiana's offense and their tendencies and schemes, but the only way we have success running the ball is if Armstrong can be serviceable and accurate in the passing game. MSU is going to put 8-9 guys in the box every play, as they are not scared in the least to leave their corners on islands. I really hope they put 8-9 guys on the line...we'll option off that all day long. Maybe a few times during the game. More if they use it out of different formation. If they are as good as advertised then it won't work more than a few times. Can't win with that. I heard Joel Mackovica (spelling?) explain the effects of a well ran option game on a defense and I would not go as far to say we couldn't win with it. The option we have been running also sets up a lot of other things we do in our offense.
  2. They have not played against a back like AA. Dude might be the best in the B1G. I truly think that we may be the most talented team from top to bottom that they play all year. Win this game and winning out isn't only possible, it becomes something that is likely to happen.
  3. Bring who you want to. I am fine with whomever.
  4. Saw him twice UCLA weekend. I don't think we get Drake to commit if he wasn't allowed on campus. Wouldn't make sense to me anyways.
  5. Are we the most talented offense that MSU will see all year?

LandLord, you mean Indiana? Or really Illinois??

Indiana, also Ohio State in the title game potentially. Our offense is injury-depleted though, don't forget

We would've been if we were healthier. Either way, we still have the talent to get the job done.

  6. Was just about to come here and post this exact thing. Bwahahha. Bo and Company just instantly became better recruiters. Yeah. Wish Walton flipped before the LSU offer. It just became a battle. I may be wrong but I don't think he actually has an offer from LSU yet. They are probably waiting on guys higher on their board. Which is what they tried to do to Cethan Carter last year...wish Cethan would convince Jaevon to do what he did and say screw you. If there is one guy who can do it, it would be CC. Not many guys tell Miles and Mack Brown to shove it.
  7. If we ever went play action when Cross is in the game it would go for a TD from anywhere on the field. I don't know if it's even in the playbook.

At this point I'd prefer EZ-E over Beck for offensive coordinator.

Had we gone with a true zone read play on 3rd and 3 on their five yard line TA WALKS into the endzone and we put that game away early. No clue why it's manditory that every time he's in he gets the call.

  9. Is it more of a 2 QB system or is it more like "if you suck you'll get pulled"? In my opinion, I didn't disagree with going with Kellogg last game when we did. If we were going to get him a series in order for TA to be coached on the sideline at some of the things Michigan was doing defensively that was the time. Who knows? Maybe Coach Beck saw something they were doing differently than we had scouted and that was the reason we pulled him for that series.
  10. The only person who I could potentially see coming back on our OL is Jake Cotton but I believe that is a long shot. It is fair to say that TA is a bit turnover prone to this point, however the coaches continue to call his number and put the football in his hands. I would imagine the gameplan is going to be hit you guys with a lot of speed option football to stretch you laterally then we will try to pound it with Ameer. Abdullah is going to be fine. A week of rest and he'll be good.
  11. It's been almost a year ago to date that we did this for a home game. LandLord and I have been wanting to get one together so I decided I'd take the initiative to do it. I'll be setting up in the Softball field parking lot exactly where we were last year for all of those that attended. Any and all are welcome to come down and have a drink. I'll have plenty of Miller-Coors products in my cooler and I may in fact have to bring out the old jar of moonshine for all that would enjoy a taste or would like to go blind. PM me or those who have my cell number text me and lets take a strangle hold on our side of the conference this Saturday fellas!!!!!! GBR!!!!!!!!!!
  12. The combo we used Saturday was pretty good. We also have Love and Newby that are RS-ing. If we get Bond this isn't an issue.
  13. Charlie Strong. Next HC at Florida????

Watching those shouting matches would be more entertaining than watching Paps tuck his tail all the time.

That would be something wouldn't it? As though we don't already have enough of the camera on Bo we would have another guy they could watch.

  14. I thought at one time we were heavy after Clark? Maybe give him another call. We offered Clark when he was a sophomore. So yes we were. If this job becomes available, I believe it to be the most attractive job on the market and that includes Texas and USC. If this job becomes available, I'll bet you that good ol' Charlie Strong gets the gig.

    No Credit

The bolded part is the most impressive especially with a freshman QB with only half a season under his belt and a freshman/sophomore dominated defensive rotation. Our inability to stop the run all year was the biggest concern especially with Michigan's power running. You've gotta credit us all the way around. Every player on the roster and every coach associated. MSU's offense is actually IMHO worse than Michigan's. I was very concerned about us blitzing against Michigan with Gallon and Funchess on their roster especially if they were allowed to get into space. Idk if I stated it on this board, but I told my friends that we probably wouldn't see as much DB pressure against Michigan as we did NW. I was right, we showed MORE. It took a lot for Bo (at least I'd imagine) to trust our secondary to pressure Gardner as much as we did. Against teams like the Michigan's and Ohio State's of the world Bo and Company has shown a reluctance to drop a safety from his normal high position to help in run support. I'd have to go back and look, but from the first time watching, it really looked as though we were in man coverage a lot with very little safety help. I don't see us changing that gameplan up at all as MSU's offense doesnt have a single WR that I am worried about. What we need to do is score points. Easier said than done, but I have the faith that at home with our now more experienced freshman QB, we can get it done.
  16. Butler is a good school as well. That conference is no joke in football and baseball. The jayhawk conference is the best juco conference in the country. Unreal amount of D1 talent that comes out of those schools for football and baseball. My Reivers are number 1 in both men's and women's soccer headed to the national tourney
  17. i am just speaking in general. a lot of two loss teams and teams that just do not meet the eye-test. The way I would describe the B1G is that the peaks aren't as high as the other conferences but the valleys don't seem to be as low either.
  18. I remember our game in 2011 with them and how predictable they are on offense. You can literally call every play before it happens from your seat in the stadium.
  19. Butler is a good school as well. That conference is no joke in football and baseball.
  20. Let's not worry about winning out. Let's be 1-0 after Saturday. (I think that's the old saying or something)
  21. After the Minny game who would have believed we'd give up less than 1 yard rushing to Michigan?

  22. I think it's going to be an all out brawl in the off-season for the QB job between Armstrong and Stanton.
  23. It appears that we have used the option quite a bit to stretch the defense laterally. When they are stretched laterally we can then hit them with AA and Cross up the middle. TA played a ton better than I expected for his first hostile road environment.
  24. What it appears we've don't in the last 7 quarters of football is just let our athletes be athletes and go make plays. The players seem as though they are starting to trust the scheme and the coaches are putting the trust in our guys as a whole to roll the dice a lot more and play fast and loose.
