  1. I said I would reserve some judgement, and after the line domination at Mich I will own up to the guys making good progress, and looking very good. Still leaves me scratching my head even more about that Minn performance. Minny is playing good football right now. They are playing good ball. I was at the PSU game and although I think the Huskers laid an egg in the game against Minn., they were certainly worthy of winning. They flat out beat Penn St down Really like the offense they run after watching them for a few weeks. Kinda reminds me of what Dan Hawkins ran at Boise St and tried to run at Colorado.
  2. Des responds Desmond Howard ‏@DesmondHoward1m @J_Mitch05 enjoy the win, young man. Worry less about us & keep your eyes on your own & team goals. Season isn’t over yet. @KirkHerbstreit Funny how he wants to be paid for his opinion. But when that opinion is wrong, you get comments like that. This +1 Des would have gone a long ways in my book had he just congratulated JMitch
  3. Anybody get the feeling that CJax isn't playing because Leroy Alexander is just better than he is to this point???

Maybe. Really like what Alexander is doing right now. CJax back to CB next year?

I like the idea of moving him back. If Leroy keeps getting better CJax isn't gonna have a home.

It is not a feeling, it is a fact.

  4. Because, IIRC, we still haven't beat a ranked opponent this season. And the way we did it on offense left a lot to be desired. Not all wins are created equal, and just because you win doesn't mean you stop looking for areas of improvement. Yes, this was a good win...but much in the same way that NW was a good win. There's a lot to improve on, especially if the kids are wanting to go back to Indy... Then say, "This was a good win, but I think this and this needs to be worked on," not "this was a good win, but that was only because the other team was terrible," or even "We got lucky to get a win against a terrible team." You are basically discrediting anything good that the team did in the game with those last two. Not saying that is what you say, but I think that is the point that Atbone is trying to make. When we lose we shouldn't have because the other team was terrible. When we win we should have won by more because the other team is terrible.
  5. I agree here. We've had a lot of success attacking defenses at the boundaries with the speed option.
  6. Those are misreads, not lack of knowledge of the playbook. If Quincy sees a safety over the top, he is supposed to cut the route off at X yards. If no safety over the top, he is supposed to continue running a go-route. It's just the QB and receiver not seeing the same thing. You are probably right. Haven't watched it a second time to see if there was a safety over the top or if there wasn't. Have you and if so, was it QE or TA in the wrong?
  7. Where there is room for criticism for TA is his knowledge of the playbook I feel. Too many times over the past few weeks has he thrown to a WR that is running a completely different route.
  8. Kudos to Coach Pelini and Pap for having the guts to go man-on-man on some very good WRs Michigan had. We played an 8 man box the whole game and you have to give credit to the coaches for trusting our DBs enough to do that.

There wasn't anyone on our DL that didn't play well. Avery Moss and RG44 are going to be special.

Still leaves me scratching my head even more about that Minn performance. Agree on the Minn part. Still can't understand why TA or RK3 weren't given a single snap in that one.
  10. Agreed Warrior. Bond we'd take. Don't know if we have a need for this one though
  11. For some reason, my friends and I are never worried about MSU. We have always had their number it seems. They have an awful offense and we play them at home. *Knock on Wood*

Yeah but they have a tough defense. MSU scares the crap outta me. The other thing that worries me is this: Say we pull off the win against MSU then go to Penn State and crap the bed. THAT has happened before and I SO don't want to see it again.

I don't expect anything from this team. I hope like hell we win, but wins aren't expected anymore.

  12. / cleans up drool from keyboard... Can you imagine getting a guy like him on our roster??? Adding another monster athlete that can cover TEs and also help up in run support. I dare someone to run a bootleg to his side. Go get Bond and lock up Gates and then we will add a few names that aren't on the radar right now and call it a solid class.
  13. Sean Callahan just tweeted that RG44 is tied for the Big Ten lead in sacks and leads in tackles for a loss.
  14. Hoke is so predictable it isn't funny. He's like a Kirk Ferentz with more empty calories. Edited for accuracy. +1 I think he looks like Fred Flintstone http://www.google.com/search?q=brady+hoke+fat+bastard&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari#biv=i%7C1%3Bd%7CWIqKuDsXY6SLgM%3A Damn it man. I saw the Shrek one and I lost it because I honestly see him doing that a ton on the sidelines. I just dropped my glass beer bottle on my hard wood floor.

  16. The crazy thing is that the guy across from him in Avery Moss is a monster as well.
  17. Hoke is so predictable it isn't funny. He's like a Kirk Ferentz with more resources.
  18. First class OP. +1 NOW LETS WIN OUT!
  19. Des responds Desmond Howard ‏@DesmondHoward1m @J_Mitch05 enjoy the win, young man. Worry less about us & keep your eyes on your own & team goals. Season isn’t over yet. @KirkHerbstreit Des is one of the biggest douche bags in the world.
  20. I've been saying it for the past 3 cycles and today is the day that I get to say I told you so. If we get Bond, which we very well could, we could have another RG44 on the field and the Michigan's of the world won't know where to expect pressure from two different guys. Not just the one.
  21. If you would have told me we would be -2 turnover margin and only scored 17 points I would have told you that a loss was more than likely. Hats off to the defense. Best game all year.

EZ, I like your post. My hats are off to the defense as well. However, I think the biggest "hats off" are to the fact that Michigan really is that bad. If we had a -2 turnover margin and only 17 scored points against a good team, we would have lost and a bit better team then good would have been a blowout loss ... as I see it.

My thing is that when you look at the environment that we just played in with a freshman QB and a very youthful defense there is nothing you can take away from them.
