  1. Trying too hard to make a big play over just letting the ball bounce into the endzone.
  2. Sam had some thoughts on the Pick 6 podcast, but the alliance isn't so much for scheduling but, as pointed out that the ACC, B1G, and PAC weren't at the table for Playoff expansion, to prevent the NCAA from folding too soon without having a body to control things in place if/when it does. Also another point is that they might want to delay playoff expansion far enough that ESPN doesn't control the broadcast rights from the get go and they can be bid on by other networks.
  3. One trend with NW is that when they have a solid to good older QB, they have a good year (Ramsey last year had already proved himself to be a good B1G QB and Thorston before him grew into the role). I wouldn't be surprised if they are just above Illinois this year because they won't be able to move the ball at all.
  4. Stille is second from the left in the back row and he's 6'5" and 290 lbs. Weaver is next to him.
  5. The way it appears the lineup might be 1. Morrison 2.Stepp/Ervin. Lot of talk about Morrison the past week.
  6. 2018 - We were leading by 2 scores and a lot of yards until things fell apart halfway through the 4th quarter
  7. Why do we keep making these unforced errors? Just tell people to give them 24 hours to compile the footage and make the reveal on Twitter. It’s be one thing if it was an email sent out to season ticket holders, but they advertised on Twitter. Cmon man.
  8. Does it have to be Stepp? Or if any rusher goes over 750?
  9. To add to this, the only time the national anthem should be played before a game is when a national team is playing. Doesn't matter the sport, but playing or someone singing the anthem before every single game from high school on up is cheesy. Its another step in pandering people's patriotism.
  10. 400 M Hurdles was probably the best race ever. Winner lowered the World Record (he broke earlier this year) by over half a second, 45.94. 2nd place beat the WR that was just broke by running 46.17. 3rd place broke the old world record that was broke earlier this year, 47.10. Every member but the 8th place finisher ran either a World Record, Area Record, or National Record. The race had the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th fastest times ever in the 400 M Hurdles.
  11. The game with WSU was something Moos set up as he was going out the door. The reason he was probably sheparded to retire before the end of his contract was probably because he liked working from his home in Montana when the Athletic Department had moved back to mostly working in house. As such, some/most of his responsibilities ended up defaulting to the associate ADs who might not have had enough power to make final decisions or the individual coaches (mostly Frost with the new facility fundraising). This is just some thoughts from the stories/rumors that were written when it happened.
  12. Isn’t Fordham the same level as that one team who came here in ‘18? I expect there to be a single large quarter and then just putzing around the rest of the game.
  13. Playing right now on USA channel. Edit: Missed the shot to win the game at the end of regulation. Scored the first point in OT (first to score 2). Followed by no one being able to hit anything from both teams. Lot of missed lay ups (none by Keisei). Scored both points in OT for Japan.
  14. Just do the relegation system from soccer. Take the bottom 5 teams and drop them for the top 5 teams from the lower level. But that only works because all teams play each other in their seasons.
  15. It's football adjacent, but if he was constantly being pulled away from his office to do tasks that should have instead went through the AD office (like schmoozing up to donors in unscheduled events).
  16. Another interesting article from Sam with something very interesting: https://omaha.com/sports/huskers/football/mckewon-trev-alberts-scott-frost-appear-in-sync-at-big-ten-media-days/article_3699f070-eb3c-11eb-a7a9-e7b5cf0244b5.html Might be part of the why Moos was let go when he was. I also don't take it as an excuse for poor performance. Speculation: Frost had to take a more than expected role with the new facility and the fund raising. Tasks that should have been lead by the AD.
  17. Some commentary from Sam: http://click1.newsletter.omaha.com/xcdkghbbjbntcdrgtpvhhtcjmctqmkcjcgsldsbpgddbrvv_aybkstsmmbnmpkplmhbtd.html
  18. One of the things that keeps being brought up is not just the Title IX, but also the fact that the new conference that they were joining had no sanctioned wrestling teams. So on top of jumping to D1 and finding a conference to take all the sports that you are bringing with you, they had a 2nd conference with the hockey team that was going to be/already was the money earner for the Athletic Department, they would need to find a 3rd conference to run their wrestling team with. Now I'm not 100% sure on this, but another thing that's come up a few times was wrestling was only financially viable through fundraisers. What happens when the expenses of moving to D1 balloon for the wrestling program? And what happens if the program goes through some harsh years and stops winning at the pace they did in DII? Also, how many scholarships are needed for a D1 Wrestling program vs DII (there's 10 weight classes right? So at least 10 plus however many more for the 2nd stringers). I understand an Athletic Department not wanting to rely 100% on outside funding to make sure the entire athletic department stays in the black. How it went down was not good, and I'm sure Alberts privately would agree that he should have went about it in a different way. But it had to be announced and it was just poor timing that the DII championship was scheduled at the same time as UNO was announcing they were going to D1.
  19. Is that in some box seats in stadium or just a bank of windows? You're correct, but was that the easiest place to conduct the interview?
  20. How much of people’s thoughts about this hire are tinted by two things: 1. He’s a former player in a time where a number of fans are sick of the “old boys” club. 2. How he handled cutting two UNO programs when they were prepping to make the jump to D1 as a school. Everything from him cutting the programs to now has been generally positive for UNO organizationally. He helped build Baxter. There’s a new baseball stadium off of 72nd and Center that looks really nice and the team has recently made the tournament. The hockey teams been to the frozen four, the basketball teams almost made it to the tournament in the 5 years they’ve been eligible. I’m firmly in wait and see mode with the hire. Sometimes people need to have shorter memories.
  21. They talk about him on the Pick 6 podcast and he has a similar game to Trey, maybe a better pure scorer, though. They both can slash, get to the basket, and score. Better at keeping the ball moving than Allen because Allen sometimes took a hot second to get to his spot.
