I don't know if anyone watches Anthony Bourdain's parts unkown but tonight's on the Congo is pretty good. Can't believe how much pride those people have given their situation and what they've already been through.
He's not full of himself. It's post-ironic hipsterism. He's mocking himself more than anything. It comes across better in person. Watched him up in Omaha a couple of years ago at the Holland Center. He has no illusions about how big a doofus he is.
Lebanon was great, much better than anything you would have found from you're typical cable news special. I like how he's not afraid to touch on the politics of a place but at the same time he's really not judgmental about it.
