  1. First three posts are from a different thread. Trying to keep things on topic given the incoming information.
  2. You're diverting the discussion. If Democrats and Republicans both paid for it doesn't it undermine aspects of the memo that the DNC paid for this and therefore we can't count on it? If you're saying that only Republicans who didn't like trump paid for it, there's a burden of proof that you need to give. If you're operating under the assumption that only people who are for Trump can conduct this investigating, we need to factor in that it is possible the results of this investigation will turn them against Trump. Therefore you're at a logical tautology that doesn't work. I encourage you to look into some of Michael Shermers BS detection device work.
  3. This to me is the oddest part of the whole thing. They're saying that Steele was biased by citing a quote from him after he compiled his information. To translate that from Steele's point of view: I have evidence that I believe. That evidence suggests that Trump is heavily under the influence of Russia. I really do don't want him to be in office. That seems like a good bias to have. Am I missing something?
  4. A number of posts got a little past the point of what we would want. Had to be removed.
  5. Alright folks, lets try this again. No talking about recruits moms and try to stay on topic. This thread in particular is going to be on a short leash with me. I let you have some fun with the gifs, but people are getting carried away.
  6. Sorry, academic setting gives me access. A research group with access to a federal database conducted an analysis (logistic regression) to determine the impact of citizenship on the likelihood of disproportionate arrest for federal drug and violent crimes along the US Mexico border (presumably a location for a high level of non-citizens). In arrests for homicide, assault, robbery, and weapons offenses, US citizens were disproportionately more likely than non-citizens to be arrested. The only area this trend reversed was for marijuana offenses. If we equate being arrested with guilt, this suggests that Americans are more likely to engage in violent crimes in proportion to the total population they represent. The reason I posted this is that many people make statements without showing where the data come from. I like to back up those statements with facts and data. It's a bit of a parallel statement to what was in the tweets, but we just had a whole bunch of hateful rhetoric posted around our campus, so it feels relevant to me.
  7. Published last year including research teams in South Texas: https://search.proquest.com/docview/1925766488?pq-origsite=gscholar
  8. Why yes, I am sitting around eating peanut butter on cornchips and watching braveheart. Thanks for asking.

Unless you've been in an accident or have a birth defect, you have 10 delivery devices at the end of your arms.

Really a finger is the only appropriate utensil for peanut butter unless it's too far down the jar.

  9. I remember the graphics on this being so amazing when I first played it. Oof.
  10. Kid was put in tough in one tough position after another. I think he was both the type of player we stand for ("whatever I can do to help contribute") and also perfectly represents what we want our program to stand for (integrity in victory...well victory was somewhat optional recently). It seems like a good time for him to transition.
  11. Out of Staters: Where do you currently live? Corpus Christi Texas Where have you lived the longest? Lincoln (though not by much) Where has been your favorite place to live/visit? I really liked Kalamazoo Michigan Where is your ideal place to live? Somewhere in the midwest where my fiance and I can both get jobs Work: What is your current occupation? Professor of psychology What has been your best job ever? See above Worst job? I was a burger delivery guy for a year in college. That was awful Dream job? Professor at an R2 PhD offering institute in my field Hobbies: What do you enjoy doing in your free time? I watch a ton of movies, read, play video games, cook, and play trivia Strangest/most interesting hobby, skill or personal anecdote? I've written two statements that have been presented to the United Nations. That's kind of cool.
  12. I've been trying to get everyone together for a tailgate the last two seasons. We'll start there. Maybe I'll let you know about the reception if we have more food than guests.
  13. Naw, I think you're in the clear. I won't even go into when the wedding is. I know some of you jerks would try to crash it.
  14. Same. If either of you were the reason I didn't get my first choice photographer in Lincoln I'm going to be pissed.
  15. Alright folks. I'm branching this conversation about our current line play out to another branch. It should be up shortly. Conversation can be continued now in the Husker Football Forum. I think it's an interesting dialogue.

Tanner Lee, your stat line...  woof!

  17. I was just trying to get people back on track. I think all sign point to LJB committing, but no clue about the time.
  18. Feels good to have hope about outright winning these recruiting battles. I think a respectable record next year could make for a pretty amazing recruiting class.
  19. Our recruiting right now kind of confuses me. Our spot to prospect ratio seems way off. It could just be we're making sure we don't get left high and dry, but I have no clue who we're going to take and who is left out.

The shake-up will be so healthy and add to a quicker buy-in and turnaround.  Love it.

No Tyjon is not gone. But not being able to work out with the team could put him behind big time.

  20. I'm with you, I don't fully understand why this effect is true. I'm just familiar with the research finding. I was studying this stuff when Frost was announced and so his quote about everything happening fast caught my eye. It might take me a bit, but if you're interested in it, I can probably find the studies that information comes from.
  21. Interesting note about this. For speed oriented tasks, you're supposed to train doing it fast first and doing it accurately second.
  22. Guys, stay on topic. This is about Bell. Edit: when I say stay on topic, and you reply to my stay on topic comment it takes the conversation off topic. I'm just going to delete those responses right away. Feel free to send me a message or start a dialogue about how you would like the forum to be moderated in the appropriate forum. If a conversation is evolving and you find it interesting, feel free to make a post that says "this is interesting, I'm going to start a thread here (with a link)" and continue the dialogue.
