The downtown location of Lazlo's had a fire this morning. No word on damage yet, but fire crews seem to have gotten there pretty quickly and contained the damage.

Which of the following coaches will be the first to be fired?

Wow. Not that impressed with Wisconsin. Their defense is good but offense looks vulnerable. Northwest looks good. I'm so impressed with NW coach. He's right on the sidelines coaching his guys as they play.

Nice win and nice game plan, especially on defense.  

Sometimes I think we should have three forums. One for the crowd that wants to stay positive, one for those who just want to complain and a third where they can intermingle. I get so burned out dealing with people who don't want to hear other viewpoints.

Went back to Seattle for a whiskey tasking this weekend. Was amazing. What's not amazing is getting home at 3am and teaching at 9am.

The recruiting world has made it to the classroom. Got a note from a parent today: "Weekends are for fun and family time and not for homework. Please respect our decision."

After contemplating it a bit, I've come to the following conclusions in a calm state of mind. 

I don't see HCMR going away this season unless it gets really bad. I think there are three heads on the chopping block before him. This is how I see it playing out. 

If we manage a winning season

1. Cav is gone or needs to be gone. We then need to continue showing that we're willing to spend big for our coaches. Especially when it comes to line coaches. Lots of blame is being thrown at Langs, I'm in the camp it's hard to put a game plan together when your line is getting blown up by guys at NIU. 

2. Reggie Davis needs to go. Again spend some money get coaches who can develop players. The fact that we seemingly only have 1 RB that's p5 level is absurd. There's a small chance he could save his job if he flips TJ from Oklahoma. I don't see this happening. 

If we don't manage a winning season. 

3. SE is gone. I like the idea of bringing in Trev, but who knows. 

I don't think we lose HCMR this year unless the above happens AND we have a chance to somehow bring in an A list coach this season AND we only win 5.

Looks like our house escaped unscathed. Somehow, our house still has power, so my parents are headed there to stay until they get it back. We'll be heading back early Wednesday.

As of now, the plan is for us to stay and hunker down. This could get interesting.
