  1. Need someone to fill in for David and he looks the part
  2. Nebraska's defense ranks 116th in the nation in tackles for loss at 3.8 per game

Due in combination to our gap control scheme and the inability of our DLine or Linebackers to actually step up and make plays.

  4. I've said all year this kid is laying some solid blocks for our RBs. I'd still like to give him a few more carries to keep the D honest.
  5. They have Gray back and we usually don't do well against scrambling QBs. The point spread will be close but I wouldn't bet it
  6. Good thing being that we came back against OSU. We still control our own destiny. Just need to take care of business
  7. T Mo will start against Minn but Rome and Randle will get plenty of PT
  8. Lots of inexperience and lack of talent in our secondary. I admit the coaches should have found the right guys by now, but there are two problems. Cassidy & the opposite corner of Dennard and the guy who comes in for the nickel. If SJB can be successful we just need to find a nickel player. Cassidy should have already been replaced by either Osborne or Smith IMO. Seems like everytime the opposite team makes a play its either against Green, Cassidy, or Fisher.
  9. #3...after an awful game last week and getting hated on (including myself), he played smart and threw to the check downs! Beck needs cred too
  10. Heeeeeeeesssss baaaaaaaaaaaaaaccckkkkkkk. Tim Beck with great play calls tonight, very impressed with both these guys. Wow
  11. Cassidy, Y? Green, Y? Evans, Y? I'll never know

Who's better than Evans? He was 3rd on the depth chart last year.....

I think washington or SJB. BTW Martinez has played very well 2night

  12. Enhance you have no evidence of not playing Carnes. He should have been playing late in the Wyoming and Wisconsin game, and after seeing Martinez struggle in yet another game which the team wasn't awful puts doubt in my mind. What happened to these two battling for playing time? Everyone including the coaches treat Martinez like he's a high school QB and his dad is the principal, custodian, and asst. football coach of the high school. Keep coming up with excuse after excuse. If Martinez plays well against a few solid teams this year I will back him up 100%, but for what I've seen these last two seasons he only puts up stats against lesser opponents. Mizzou and Ok St were good performances last year but their defenses were less than par. If he plays well this weekend I'll slowly hop back on the bandwagon.
  13. No, he shouldn't. Give me one valid reason that favors Carnes starting over Martinez this weekend. All you know about Carnes is that he's a freshman and he had a good practice spring game You have no idea how good of a passer Carnes is. I would agree that he looked better in the spring game, but that was the spring game. Your gameplan for successfully using Carnes is the exact gameplan I've been saying we should be using with Martinez - hand the ball off and use play action to get the ball to our receivers. The truth of the matter is that we don't know what kind of a player Carnes is yet, and he needs mental reps more than anything else right now. What happens if Carnes comes in and struggles? Do we go back to flip-flopping quarterbacks like we did all year in 2009, and risk shattering Carnes confidence like we practically did with Green? It's a dangerous game doing what you're suggesting. This staff has already made quarterback mistakes in the past, and I'm sure they're not keen on doing it again anytime soon. 50% pass completion 4 TDs 5 INTs, lost count on fumbles (This is awful especially because Wisconsin is the only good team we've played so far). No idea how you don't think Carnes should get a shot to be the starter??
  14. Brion Carnes should be starting right now. Martinez can lose you a game faster than winning you one. Carnes is still a good runner and by far the better passer. Have Carnes hand the ball off to our great backfield, and play action out of the spread or under center to our playmakers at wideout and tight end. Ill take consistency over a few big runs a game. People will still say he has more experience, he's SO fast, who gives a shi* the kid can't play QB at this level. Pelini won't take him out as we've seen, even when he has one ankle.
  15. Lots of 1-on-1 drills during practice the last two days. Bout damn time

  16. Carter, T. Moore, Crick, Meredith David, Compton, Whaley Dennard, Washington, Stafford, Osborne
  17. Taylor Martinez clearly wasn't in the mood to talk today. He addressed 20 questions in about 3:40. Also accused the media of "ripping" him.

  18. Saving ourselves for a game is dumb IMO whether we are or aren't.
  19. Dennard made a dumb play IMO and should have been called. I didn't think he looked 100% but maybe that's just me.
  20. UNLV lost to Washington State 59-7 and Southern Utah 41-16. Oregon State is 0-3 and lost to Sacramento State. Northern Illinois lost to Kansas and only beat Cal Poly 47-30. South Dakota isn't an FBS team. I know that we haven't played a ranked team yet or anything but we have definitely played better competition so far.
