  1. We won the game. There's no need for mental gymnastics in games we win, imho. Or not I'm watching on gamecast :/
  2. We go from playing hail mary D to man to man. Are they not aware the safety exists?

  4. He's staring down his receiver. I looked at the photo for 10 seconds and he never took his eyes off him.
  5. Predictions can be made on qualitative variables. I think you mean there are too many random variables and too much variability. Regardless, they don't invalidate the stats. You just have to realize what those stats are based on and decide whether you agree with the methodology or not.
  6. Have sex with as many guys as you can. At the same time.
  7. It's not a project, it's the Sports Analytics Department. I'm not sure how many employees they have but I know they're hiring interns right now. They can do much more than just track stuff in games. The possibilities are literally endless. They can test angles in the left and right legs when an athlete is doing a squat to see if one leg is used more than the other for the lift. They can do brain scans to see if the image patterns are different between people who've had concussion symptoms and people who haven't. I realize none of that answers your question . I'm certain they're in contact with coaches though. The guy who runs it worked with the athletic department for his dissertation, so he's been around for a few years. Here's a video. I haven't actually watched it yet. Just did a search and found it. http://news.yahoo.com/video/tucker-zeleny-position-nebraska-athletic-131436071.html;_ylt=A0LEV77MVQNWdEEAkGYnnIlQ;_ylu=X3oDMTBydWNmY2MwBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwM0BHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzcg--
  8. So you're saying that Wisconsin will play walkons ahead of scholarship athletes? That sounds like a good strategy for recruiting. smh They played a total of 46 scholarship players and 18 former walkons in a blowout home game. The Huskers played 41 scholarship players and 10 former walkons in a close away game. What is your takeaway from this? They look awfully similar to me. Way too similar to justify all the chicken little posts about 24/79 yesterday. Go ahead and do some of your own analaysis on a close Wisconsin road game. Or just whine about numbers that don't fit your agenda. They're not similar. You are not going to get this published. On a serious note, if you're trying to prove those people wrong, it's your responsibility to provide the data. Good data, not data on two completely different types of games.
  9. I thought we'd go 3-1 or 2-2 and win 8 or 9 games total. I still think we'll win 8-9 games total.
  10. In order for the sellout streak to end, the team would have to be consistently mediocre (multiple 7 or less win seasons) with no coaching change.
  11. I believe the enrollment @ Nebraska exceeds 50,000. The enrollment @ the U is around 10,000. A quick wikipedia or google search would tell you you're way the hell off.
  12. He got attacked by a raccoon and had to kill it with a wrench.
  13. I'm so tired of this bullsh#t PC line. I don't give a crap that he's not PC. I care that most of what he says is idiotic. (Other than his economic plan which was way better than what any of the other candidates said they want to do). There's a big difference between telling it like it is and being a loudmouth who says stupid things. Considering the bolded is the #1 need in our President (especially right now), Trump is the best candidate and it's not even close. I also have no problem with the things he's saying. Can't agree here. Saying something that sounded better than the people who shared the stage with him isn't saying much. His idea was better than a flat tax rate. Almost any idea is better than that. I fail to understand why people think Trump would be great at economic issues. He knows how to deal with economic things for one wealthy person.
  14. Gangwish played last year. How is this being based off one or two games? I see what I see. He doesn't have a quick burst off the line. If there was a better DE that was available, and more depth at the position, he probably wouldn't be playing right now. McMullen is equally as slow off the line and really has no business being a DE at this point. Like I said, Huskers will be really good against the run (Minnesota & Wisconsin will be in for a very rude awakening), but the pass rush isn't good right now. 1)Under Riley and Banker? Or does the statement that he's had one game in a new system stand? Seemed like Gangwish was quick enough to get a few sacks last year when turned loose. 2) If my Aunt had nads, she'd be my Uncle. Obviously the staff thinks he was the best available or capable of becoming so in this season. I get what you're saying about it seeming like we have no speed rush, I agree that we have yet to really SEE anything. I just don't think we've seen enough of this system to lay it on the position players just yet. Hell, I'll even concede later on that you may be right, but still say you're basing it off too small of a sample to be sure. 1) I have seen him come off the line numerous time. Does it matter who the coaching staff is when determining speed off the line? Sure, the previous coaching staff preferred a very controlled pass rush (what some have called "paddy cake"), but that technique was utilized after the initial snap. It had very little to do with his speed off the line, which is what I have been talking about all along. 2) Okay? Yes, the staff thinks that of the DEs at Nebraska, he's the best option. That doesn't make him good. Damn you Moss for showing your cash and prizes.

  16. I'm not sure how someone who watches college football can say something like this and mean it.
  17. not if they beat us 38-13. They're not gonna hold us to 13.
  18. We lost a game, and didn't blow them out last year at home. We also lost 4 of our 5 best players. Not insane. And Miami lost .....? I guarantee Miami fans know we lost Abdullah, Gregory, and (maybe) Bell. I doubt many Husker fans know the names of the players Miami lost. Therefore, the same can probably be said for people betting on the game. Dunno why I'm posting this a 2nd time. I've already discussed it earlier in the topic. Edit: can't get mobile to function right Miami lost several NFL players and all conference players. Their OL is almost a complete rebuild. But now I'm not sure I understand your point. Are you saying that the line is accurate because the betting public knows about the big names we lost but doesn't understand the nature of Miami's attrition; or are you saying the line is right because that is a 4.5 or 5 points fairly represents the difference between the two teams. Those are two very different statements... Neither? I'm saying the line isn't "insane," as one post in this topic says, just because people tend to think Miami is slightly better.
  19. It's not like being interested in the rankings somehow holds the team we follow back.
  20. Tom Brady let the air out of that baby. So Tom Brady = Flatulence.
  21. agree, Newby lacks Ameer vision, clearly, maybe he will improve, but 28 carries each game and he wont make it half way through the schedule. Ameer was very good but not great until his senior season. You are crazy if you think Ameer wasn't great until his Senior season. You are just wrong. No I'm not. Granted, people use words differently. He was making cuts his senior year like never before. He went from very good to great. Or you could say he went from great to super duper great. Semantics. I think most people thought he should not enter the draft early, and not just because we were selfish. A better way to compare than these words is to say whether Newby is as good as Abdullah was his junior year. I have a bad memory but I'd say not quite. The thing is, Abdullah played a lot more during his sophomore year than Newby did. He started 7 games because Burkhead was injured.
